Captured By A Ruthless Vampire King

Chapter |41|~The Golden Chosen~

Unedited.

Embry POV.

My neck hurts. What happened? I open my eyes to an unfamiliar room. It’s a beautiful bare room, beauteous in every way. The problem is that I have no clue how I got here or better yet who put me inside here and that is strange.

I feel as clueless as that pup back at the Northern Pack House that always points the TV remote at the old microwave. Yup! I feel that clueless.

Plus, I can’t feel my wolf’s presence but I know that she’s there. She must be still sleeping. I attempt to wake her up but no matter how hard I try she doesn’t budge. She is out for the count.

Okay, so I guess I’m on my on for now. About a second later, my eyes begin to explore my surroundings.

The first thing that captures my eyes is the window. The floor-to-ceiling window mostly stretches out across the entire room, providing a clear and perfect view of a mountain top that’s drenched in fresh crystal white snow. Other than that the room is pretty much bare.

It is spacious and the bed that I’m now lying on is massive with an all-white comforter set and matching all white sheets. The walls are nude and also bare. There is also a small table with a lamp and two dark plaid tub chairs that separates the bed from the window but that’s it.

There is nothing inside of this room that can help me identify where I am or who put me in it and for some strange reason, I don’t feel bothered by it. In fact, I feel well-rested and regenerated, like I just experienced the best sleep ever besides the kink that is on the side of my neck. I’m fine.

With that thought, I roll over and then silently stare out of the window. The view from here is breathtaking.

The night is young so you can still see the brief evidence of daylight, which is a light shade of pink haunted by a violent shade of lavender and violet and outlined with a dark shade of deep-sea blue. The colors swirl in unison, presenting an extraordinary background and the diamond-like stars plus the glimpse of a soon to be full moon adds to its beauty.

It’s beautiful.

This place is magically peaceful. I continue to stare out of the window for a long while, suddenly feeling rather tired until my overly sensitive ears pick up on a bit of commotion on the other side of the door. This awakens my wolf.

“Embry,” growls my wolf from within. “Get the hell up, now. That so-called mate of ours got inside of your head after that crazy-ass vampire snapped our neck,”

“What,” I say, jumping from out of the bed in the exact same moment that an unfamiliar scent hit’s me hard and strong.

My nostrils flare widely as I take it in. It’s a sweet smell of milk and honey but it’s tainted with the very distinctive scent of burning cedarwood and expensive cologne floats from underneath the closed door. That scent. I know that scent.

I mean the milk and honey smell is unfamiliar but the later one is kinda familiar though I can’t put my finger on it.

Not even a second goes by before the door goes flying open and my hazel eyes lock with someone’s green eyes.

A human, judging by the smell of her.

“That human,” growls my wolf as she begins to take control.

“What human,” I question her because I’m almost certain that I have never met this girl before.

“The human that was drenched in blood and lying lifeless inside the arms of the vampire who came storming in alongside of the vampire that snapped our neck,” she reminds me and then suddenly it all comes back. The force claim that our mate attempted... The dispute..... The chase down and then boom, the snap of my neck.

How could I not have remembered an eventful day as such?

“I already told you how that supposed to be mate of ours took advantage of us again while we were sleeping. He’s such a jerk,” explains my wolf before I place my undivided attention onto the human girl.

She is an extremely attractive girl.

She has the face of an angel that appears to have been slowly crafted to perfection by the moon Goddess her self into a diamond-shaped face equipped with high cheekbones and delicately soft narrow jaw. Those full ruby red, lips of hers have been carved into the shape of a heart and I know for a fact that any man from any species would die just to have a chance of planting a kiss down on to them.

She has also been blessed with a set of nice long, full and luscious lashes that highlights those big and bright electrifying green eyes of hers. Oh, and let’s not forget to mention her waist-length distinguishing golden blonde hair that shine brighter than the early morning’s desserts sun. Yes, this girl has most certainly been blessed.

Matter of fact, to say that this girl is extremely attractive is an understatement. This human girl is unimaginably beautiful. I have never encountered a human as beautiful as such. Who is she and why does she smell so familiar? I know for a fact that I have never met her.

There is no way that you can forget a face like hers but her scent... It’s strangely familiar, extremely familiar.

In fact, it smells like... “Their King! The King Of All Vampire Kings,” explains my wolf. Yes! Why does this human smell like their King? I just have to know.

Suddenly, someone starts banging on the door and from the smell of things I believe that it is my mate. No scratch that from the sound of his body colliding into the door plus his mouthwatering scent tells me for a fact that it is my mate, which mean that I have a couple of seconds to talk to this girl before he comes slamming through this door and act like the savage control freak that he is.

It’s obvious that he doesn’t want me an around her, but why? That brings me back to my original question, who is she?

“Let me figure her out,” demands my wolf.

“I don’t know,” I respond. “I don’t want to scare her,”

“Forget about scaring her,” my wolf tells me straight up. “The both of us have questions and sometimes the best way to get answers is by being straight forward. Your too polite to be straightforward. I, on the other hand, am not,” she makes a valid point. “Plus, something tells me that there is more than meets the eye when this human is involved. There is something about her,” she’s right. There is something about this human.

At this point, I don’t even think she is human. She’s way too pretty to be! ( No offense)

“Do your thing,” I answer her right away if anybody can figure her out between the two of us it’s my wolf. The both of us know that she’s a way better judge of character than I'm. Now, I won’t allow her to hurt this human but she is right there is something about this human, even a blind man can see that.

Most humans would have taken flight the very moment she locked eyes with my wolf. This human is doing the complete opposite. She is staring at me right back as if she has no fear.

Now, that is just flat out weird.

“Who are you,” suddenly question my wolf. “You smell like their King.”

The human girl looks taken aback for just a second, literally for just a second and then a wicked glint of good ole mischief begins to swirls inside of her electrifying green eyes.

The human raises an eyebrow and then places her tiny little hands down onto her tiny little hips. “You smell like a flower tossed in the dirt but hey! I’m not judging,” she sarcastically responds, shockingly enough and that simple action straight up tickles my wolf and me.

“Would you look at that,” my wolf voices her amusement to me. “I’ve never thought that I would live to see the day to encounter a human with a backbone. ”

“Neither have I,” I agree, making my wolf smile. “But then again we haven’t encountered too many humans,”

“True,” my wolf says to me before placing her attention back onto the human. “I have never met a sarcastic human before but then again, I haven’t met that many humans,” she explains to the human with a smile pasted onto our face.

“I get that a lot,” the human answers with a shrug. She is a feisty little thing.

“I like her,” I advise.

“So do I,” my wolf surprisingly agrees with me.

Around a second later my mate makes an overly dramatic entrance, bursting into the room and knocking the hinges off the door in the process. He’s dramatic as hell! Hot but dramatic. It appears that he has once again freshened up, now wearing a white v-neck shirt and a pair of expensive-looking washed up denim jeans. How can something so basic look so appetizing?

“Embry, focus,” my wolf disapprovingly growls at me.

This is when I notice that two other vampires have also entered. Both of them are also smoking hot and for some strange reason appears to be oddly familiar.

“It’s them,” my wolf growls. “The ones who bought the human here. The one with the light blonde hair is the one who snapped our neck,” she explains while placing her eyes onto him.

“He looks scary,” I announce.

“And mean,” she adds in. “I owe him one,”

A long-drawn-out moment of awkward silence passes between the five of us before the vampire with strikingly stormy gray eyes decides to break it.

“It’s not safe for you in here, Claire,” he says. “You shouldn’t be roaming where the wild things are.”

Where the wild things are? Now that’s just disrespectful, kind of right on point if you take my last name into consideration but still disrespectful. Before my wolf can speak up or even growl my mate monster presents himself.

“What the fuck is that supposed to mean,” he snarls dangerously, leaving my wolf and I completely speechless. Did he just...

“You know exactly what the fuck I mean. Claire is too valuable to be placed in a room with the untamed and untrained,” the vampire issues out another insult, which is totally uncalled for. Who is he? He also looks familiar and it has nothing to do with what happened earlier. I’ve seen him before. In fact, his scent!

Oh, my Goddess! His scent is the trigger. This vampire before me is no one other than the king of all vampire's brother. What is his name?

“King Xander,” viciously growls my wolf. Uh, oh! This is not good!

“Fuck you,” spits my mate, with his eyes now bleeding red. “You would know all about the untamed and untrained. Wouldn’t you? All hail the cold-hearted king that feel in love with the Lycans human, who----,”

King Xander is in front of our mate before he could finish his sentence wasting no time throwing my mate against the wall. His eyes are too now bleeding red.

Cyrus defines himself in a blur. His hand wraps around King Xander's neck and then he flips him into the wall seconds after. Then they start to wrestle. They both look frighteningly dangerous. Both of their eyes are a shade of red, fangs descended, muscles are flexing and are moving quicker than one can blink.

With each passing second, my wolf mind is speculating. She’s waiting for the right time to intervene... to kill the cold-hearted king.

She wants in on the action. My wolf isn’t the type of wolf that will just sit back and watch her other half fight to the death, even if we’re not on good terms. He is still our mate, which means she naturally feels the need to go to bat for him. Plus, this is the cold-hearted King.

The brother of a murder. Inside of my wolf's mind, killing him would even out the score. There is only one problem and that is I am not my wolf.

An eye for an eye is a blind man's rules. I am not a follower. I will not allow her to make such a foolish move.

“Fall back,” I demand, taking back control over my body and pushing my wolf to the back of my mind.

“Grow a pair of balls,” angrily growls my wolf. “He’s the brother of Kaya’s murder. He’s guilty by association.”

“That is an unjust verdict,” I attempt to reason with her and come to his defense. “He should not be held accountable for another’s actions.”

“And what about his action,” she spits. “Not only did he insult us for no apparent reason. He is also placing his hands on our mate,”

“Our supposed to be mate,” I harshly remind her, which earns me a good ole growl.

“You’re such a pussy,” she spits before her presence is no longer felt and I couldn’t be happier. This entire experience is already nerve-wracking enough. In actuality, this is straight-up frightening. I need to get out of here and fast.

“Yeah you do,” suddenly growls my wolf. “You need to sit back and allow me to do what I was designed to do,” she growls before forcefully taking back control, shocking my soul. I lost control.

She’s not supposed to be able to do that? How the freak did she do that? Things have just gone from scary to beyond the point of freighting. This is... is... is... horrifying!

“Please,” I begin to plead with her. “Please don’t do this,”

She doesn’t respond. It’s like she doesn’t even care about how I feel. Her undivided attention is placed onto them. No, let me correct myself! My wolf eyes are locked onto him, the cold-hearted king. She’s going to kill him.

She takes a step, ready to pounce and I panic. My entire body suddenly goes into overdrive. I can’t let this happen... I can’t let this happen... No, I won’t allow this to happen! I’m so tired, too tired of the both of them. I’m so sick of being controlled by my wolf and my mate.

Enough is enough! Both of them shall learn to respect me and my wishes or both of them can get the hell out of my life. I will no longer put up with either one of their shit. I don’t need them...

I’m an amazing person with or without them. They can piss the hell off. I don’t know why I keep on standing down. Both of them have lost their fucking minds and I’m about to lose mine. The right way!

“I said stand the fuck down,” I growl with so much venom that it surprises myself before pushing her presence to the back of my mind and locking her away.

Officially putting my wolf in her place and then I turn to deal with Cyrus by doing the one thing that I know would officially piss him off. I take another step forward, dangerously close to the two fighting vampires and then simply bow. That’s right! I bow, giving the Kings brother my complete submission, stopping the fighting at once.

No that is an understatement! My action stops time, everything and everyone inside of this room is frozen in place with wide eyes. I shocked their souls but most importantly I pissed off my mate. Yup, I did it! Not my wolf, no I did it. Embry did that. This win belongs to me.

“You!” he roars, snatching me up from off the floor quicker than I can think. “Don’t bow for anyone.” Yup! He’s pissed and I’m loving it.

Now, this is how you deal with a supposed to be mate, fighting fire with fire will only increase the heat but ice..... Ice melts shit down! I don’t need to be big and bad to deal with an asshole. No, I don’t and I won’t. I’m going to hit him where it hurts by killing him with kindness.

With that thought, I hold my head up high and part my lips to say one word. “Why,” I politely challenge him without really challenging him at all.

His eyes flash bright red, brighter than I could ever imagine and just like that my bravery falters. He’s so angry that he doesn’t realize how close we are in front of the others. His body is pressed into mine, possessively claiming me without really claiming me. Then he storms out of the room and just when I felt like I have won again Cyrus's words somehow appear inside of my head.

“Don’t forget the rules,” he harshly hisses and that’s all it takes to break down my tough girl defenses. “Actually, good job at following them,” he compliments, officially making me feel stupid.

Actually, I feel stupider than stupid I feel extremely foolish. I played right into his hand. He wanted my submission and once again I gave it to him and the worse part is that I actually felt a sense of accomplishment. I felt like I’ve won when in reality I lost.

How could I be so stupid? Why am I so naive... and weak. For a while, I just stand there looking stuck on stupid. And that thought alone makes me break down in tears, I can’t help it, nor can I hide it.

I just need to let it all out and that’s exactly what I do.

“Can we have some time alone?” The human that I now know to be Claire suddenly says, bringing me back to my senses. So I wipe my tears and quickly attempt to pull myself together. This isn’t the time or place for this no matter how bad it hurts but no matter how many times I say that to myself I still can’t stop the tears from dripping out of my hazel eyes.

“That’s absolutely out of the question,” King Xander booming voice, makes me feel worse. “You will not be left alone with the likes of her.” he spits, instantly making me flinch and lower my head. His words are laced with so much hatred and filled with so much venom. I can’t take this right now. I just can’t...

“And I will not be told who I can or cannot be around by the likes of you,” Claire spits through clenched teeth, coming to my defense and even has the nerve to size him up. Daring the cold-hearted King to say something else. His eyes are blazing crimson and her eyes are flaming electric green sparks.

I watch the exchange with a wide watery eye stare. Never have I ever encountered such a human and quite the human she is. King Xander intentionally places his frame in front of her. Anybody with eyes can see that he’s attempting to intimidate her, but this girl isn’t the one to play with. Not at all. She stands her ground and the mean-looking vampire guy takes a step up in her defense.

Yes, her defense! It’s obvious that he will protect her against King Xander if need be and that is just unheard of. Another vampire not only protecting but also defending a human, I can’t believe my eyes.

Honestly, I can’t believe any of this. This entire encounter is just strange to me. That brings me back to my original question, who is she? Better yet who is she to them? Who is this beautiful, bold and brave girl?

What am I missing? I think to myself and then out of nowhere everything starts to add up!

Claire! She’s that girl.

The one that everybody can’t stop talking about or get enough of. The it girl. The chosen whore if you ask Abigail.

She is the golden hair chosen and trust me when I say that this girl is most certainly chosen.

She has been chosen to do great things.

Maybe even destined, and that is nothing but the truth. This girl will most certainly change the world. Watch.

I’m so sorry for not updating in a while...
