Captured By A Ruthless Vampire King

Chapter |25|~ The Bonds Of Autumn ~

Unedited.

Cyrus POV.

Inside of Embry’s head.

I take a look at my surroundings the moment I enter my beloved mind.

Embry’s big and bright smile is the first thing I come in contact with. She is standing in front of a teak-wood easel viewing a piece of art. To the left side of her is a small worn down teak-wood nightstand, that’s covered with an artist mess. There is a small glass jar filled with paint-stained water, seven or so different sized paintbrushes, and a white tray filled with different tubs of paint.

She is wearing a loss fitting cream blouse with a pair of dark wash jeans that stop at her ankles and has a rip directly in front of her left knee. She also has on a pair of metallic gold and white shoes that look really easy to slip on. Her usually magnificent and dark waist-length hair appears to be shorter and lighter.

In fact, it appears to be a lovely bright chestnut color very warm and so rich.

I can’t help but think about how her hair is glowing like dark honey, penetrated by the blazing autumn sun. It’s just so radiant and the color enhances her big and bright forest green with a splash of honey-colored eyes.

She looks enchanting. Truly, enchanting....

Suddenly, Embry picks up an ivory-colored palette and starts arranging and mixing different colors of paint. Next, she dips one of the paintbrushes into the jar of water, smiles brighter and then starts to place her imagination down onto the canvas.

I stare at her in complete awe. Actually, I’m amazed. Who would have thought that my beloved was an artist? Not to mention, a talented artist at that based upon how beautifully and swiftly she is deliberately arranging different elements of paint.

Just by viewing her work from afar I can tell that she paints whatever emotion she is feeling. I can see her happiness with the flick of her wrist and every gentle stroke of the paintbrush. Embry is using bright colors such as the bumblebee, daisy, and Tuscan sunny yellow bullshit to express her happiness.

Followed by marigold, pumpkin, and burnt orange to express another emotion that I cannot identify at this moment.

All I know is that whoever, or whatever she’s painting makes her happy but I could be wrong. If I’ve learned anything about the work of art from an artist is that the story can’t be told into the artist is ready to speak, meaning you won’t know what they are painting into they are truly done.

At least, that’s what Nicklaus has taught me. He’s also wonderful at painting stories.

After a while, my eyes start to wander and explore the room that we’re standing in.

It appears to be some sort of art supply room filled with teak-wood cabinets, a couple of wooden stools and all other sorts of junk.

My eyes land on to a trumpet, sitting on top of a big wooden trunk to the left side of my beloved. Behind the trunk is another teak-wood cabinet and on top of the cabinets sits a like-sized Ivy sculpture that’s shaped into a lovely Greek woman face.

Precisely, a Goddess, judging by the beauty and feminine details that were carefully carved into the piece of art.

This room also hosts other paintings, pull out easels and there is a square floor-length drawing board sitting in the middle of it all.

The walls are a stony pale gray concrete color and so is the floor. The sunlight beams throughout the corner window which is placed on the left side of the room.

As my eyes continue to explore the room and take in the peaceful silence I quickly come to terms with why this is Embry’s happy place.

In a world full of sorrow and chaos this room is peaceful and calm just like Embry’s personality. This room is her solace.

Where are we I can’t help but wonder?

Suddenly, the distinctive scent of earth and pinewood invades my sense of smell. Followed by, a young she-wolf with short jet black hair and big crystal blue eyes walking into the room, carrying a plate filled with what appears to be chocolate chip cookies in one hand and a big glass of milk on the other hand.

At once, many questions start to circle inside of my head like why is a she-wolf serving my beloved? Is she treated like royalty in pack life because of her last name and why does the she-wolf serving Embry look so familiar? Where have I seen her? I never forget a face.

Now, that I’m really looking at her. I can tell that they are related. They don’t have the same color hair or eyes, but they do look alike.

Interesting...

I guess the only way to find out is if I sit back and watch. So, I watch...

Embry smile deepens as she takes in the scent of the newcomer, or the cookies, or maybe both. I don’t know which scent is making her happier than she already is. But I do know this, I’ve never encountered Embry smile as hard as she is smiling right now.

She looks absolutely beautiful. I want to make her smile like that.

“My mom baked cookies,” announces the she-wolf. “I figured that you could use a break,”

So, they aren’t related.

Embry places the paintbrush down into the jar of water and then places her palette down onto the nightstand filled with painters items.

“I’m always down for your mom chocolate chip cookies,” she says while facing the other she-wolf. “And you pulled me a glass of milk. Awwwwww, Kaya how could I ever repay you?”

Both of them take a seat in the middle of the floor. Then they cross their legs like human kindergarten children will do before their instructors began how to be the best slave lecture.

Now, that’s just fucking weird.

The she-wolf that I now know to be Kaya smiles back at my beloved while placing the plate of cookies and the glass of milk down in front of both of them. Then, she gives my beloved her undivided attention and says, “By transferring over to the Northern Pack, so you can change Jenkins pampers during the night while I’m trying to sleep,”

Transfer to the Northern Pack. Hmm.

So Embry is not from The Northern Pack, which means she’s either from the Eastern, Western, or Southern Pack.

I can only hope it’s not the Southern Pack.

That she-wolf bitch Alpha of theirs is like an itch that I can’t scratch, or more like a constant buzzing sound inside of my head. No better yet, like a dog that you kill but comes back to life and becomes the walking dead.

In other words, I hate that bitch and no matter how many times I try to kill her.

The bitch just refuses to die.

Fuck she’s annoying...

“If I could, I would,” responds Embry, while dipping a chocolate chip cookie into the glass of milk. “You know like I know that I would love to be a part of the Northern Pack, but.”

“But you prefer the heat,” Kaya the she-wolf interrupts my beloved and almost instantly they start to giggle into one another shoulder.

I don’t get it at all.

“You prefer the heat,” I ponder. What the fuck does that mean? Maybe, Embry is from the South.

Fuck... I’m fucked. There is no telling how many of those mutts that I put to sleep. Fuck.

Hopefully, she’s from the West. I don’t like that Alpha, well I don’t like any of the Alphas but that one tends to stay to himself unless threatened. What’s his name again?

Luscious. Laurence. Larry...

“Luke,” says the She-Wolf. Luke, yup that’s his name. Luke. Wait a minute, why the fuck are they discussing the mutt, Alpha Luke? “Is most certainly hot as fuck,” she adds in.

“I guess you can say that,” says Embry with another huge smile and rosy pink cheeks. Why the fuck is she smiling so hard? And why the fuck is she blushing? She’s mine, not his. I’m going to kill him. “He is a very hot man,” my beloved adds in, taking my monster from zero to a hundred real quick. I’m really going to drain that mutt on sight and that’s a promise.

“But he means nothing to me,” she confesses and suddenly I can breathe again.

Fuck, I love this woman. I was starting to think... Matter of fact, I don’t even want to think about what I was thinking.

“I mean I can only dream to have what you have with Ryan.” continues Embry. Then, she takes a big bite of the cookie which causes her to moan and out of nowhere, my dick starts to grow to its full size inside of my pants.

Fuck....... Fuck... Fuck.

How the fuck is she seducing me in her sleep? Fuck, I got it bad.

“Fuck that’s good,” says my beloved as her eyes roll towards the back of her head and the other she-wolf giggles which causes Embry to giggle as well.

Both of them laugh too much. You know what, I take what I said back earlier. They are without a doubt related.

“Slow down, darling,” teases the she-wolf horribly attempting to speak with a British accent. “Before you choke,” she adds in.

“Oh, no worries, darling. I’ll be just fine,” responds Embry sounding just as if not worse than the other she-wolf with her horribly sounding British accent. “As long as I have tea to drown down my biscuits.”

“Well, I’ll guess you shall choke, my dear girl because this is the North, and we don’t have tea, but we do have lots and lots of bad-wolf brew. This is where the Northern wolves sing and the Northern she-wolves dance,” sings the wolf Kaya.

“And the pups run all up and down the hills,” Embry sings along.

Then out of nowhere, they both break out into a fit of loud ass giggles. What the actually fuck?

I just stand in the middle of the room rendered speechless.

What the hell is wrong with them?

I’m Lost. So, this is what wolves do all day?

They just sit around attempting to sound British, eating sugary junk, while singing a horrible tune and sit in kindergarten style.

Hmm........... Interesting, very interesting.

No wonder why they are an endangered species.

Embry is a part of that species my subconsciousness just has to remind me. Oh, fuck. I shouldn’t have said that I mentally scold myself. Fuck, I’m screwed up.

“No, but on a serious note, Embry,” the she-wolf words draw me back in.

“I think it’s really sweet that you’re waiting for your mate instead of accepting a chosen. That speaks a lot about your character,” she says and then pauses. The she-wolf looks both ways as if she’s making sure no one is listening in. I almost laugh at her actions.

If she only knew.

Once, the she-wolf is certain that no one else is around she leans into my beloved shoulders and whispers, “If we’re going, to be honest, I don’t think that I could have been strong enough to go more than a century without a mate, especially when someone as hot as Alpha Luke is particularly begging for your hand in union,” she says making my blood boil.

The Alpha mutt Luke is as good as dead at this point.

Embry starts to giggle once again sending my monster from zero to a hundred real quick. He really is a walking corpse.

“I used to feel the same way,” my beloved just has to say, pissing me off further if that’s even possible. Suddenly, Embry stops talking. Then, she flashes the she-wolf another one of her famous big and bright smile, instantly calming me down.

It’s official. I really do get it bad. I recollect my thoughts and place my attention on to my lovely beloved, watching as she stares out the window dreamily and says, “But you changed all of that.”

“How so,” questions Kaya glancing at the canvas that Embry was recently using to paint. “I have a simple mated life. It’s really no biggie I mean of course I love my mate and Jenkins with everything in me but it can become a little overwhelming, having to cook, clean, and caring for crying pup all day? It is,”

“Perfect,” finishes Embry. “Your life is absolutely perfect, Kaya,” says Embry while turning to face her. “Now, don’t get me wrong there is no doubt in my mind that it can become a little draining cooking, cleaning, and caring for a really adorable and highly addictive pup all day,” agrees my now smiling beloved.

“But when I look at Ryan staring at you like you’re a golden treasure chest filled with the world’s rarest jewels, most expensive diamonds, and the shiniest pearls. I can’t help but to want to wait for that moment when my mate would stare at me like that as well,”

“So I’ll wait, even if it takes one century or six. I’ll wait for my gift from our Goddess no matter how long it takes and if I meet my end before I’m blessed with that chance,” she says.

“I’ll wait at the gates of heaven, or the entrance of hell for him, if Goddess wishes. I’ll wait for him.” Embry tells Kaya and I swear my frozen heart shatters.

Her soft-spoken and gentle words plunge a wooden stake directly into the center of my heart and then rips it out of my chest.

My beloved was waiting for my love and I downright rejected her love. I broke her trust and I’ve taken advantage of her kind heart. The same kind heart that would wait an eternity to be touched by her mate's soul.

I’m her mate. The foolish mate that failed her.

Fuck, I’m such an idiot.

The she-wolf by the name of Kaya crystal blue eyes are directed back onto Embry. She’s wearing a smile bigger than the deserts sun. “He will be,” responds Kaya.

" Whoever he is shall be the luckiest man on this planet,” she speaks the truth. She is right.

I'm the luckiest man on the planet and the dumbest but most certainly the luckiest.

“Seriously, Embry you truly are a special wolf,” announces Kaya. A special wolf.....

What does that mean? Before, I have a chance to further elaborate the scent of earth, apples and fresh oak wood slips underneath the door.

Embry’s head abruptly snaps in the direction of the door and if I thought that Embry’s famous big and bright smile was the brightest smile that I would ever see. I was dead wrong.

Dead wrong because the smile she is wearing now is brighter than a series of falling stars.

It’s the type of smile that could light up the darkest room and melt hearts.

The smile that Embry is wearing reaches her ears and can show a blind man the light.

Her smile literally leaves me breathless and make’s me take a moment to value to myself that one day I’ll be the person to make her smile like this again. Even if it’s the last thing I do, I value to myself that Embry shall feel the blissful emotion of pure happiness once again and I shall be the one that makes it happen.

I put that on my life and everything I love.

The door opens and another she-wolf with short and the darkest shades of autumn-colored hair, raven dark eyes, and fair skin presents herself, carrying a fresh mutt.

I mean pup. I really need to stop disrespecting my beloved species no matter how hard it is.

And trust me when I say it is hard.

A real-life challenge.....

“Aunties baby,” says Embry, in one of those annoying ass voices that girls tend to use when they are talking to babies.

Wait, hold up! She just said, auntie? That’s Embry Nephew so the she-wolf carrying him must be her sister. Now, that would explain the reason why Embry was smiling so hard.

I turn around and observe the newcomer from head to toe. She does favor Embry a lot more than the she-wolf Kaya. Plus she reeks, of Wilde wolves.

She is kind of attractive. I mean she is no Embry but for a she-wolf, she is not that bad looking. Yeah! This she-wolf is certainly Embry’s sister so who is the other she-wolf by the name of Kaya.

Who is who? What relation do they all have to one another?

What type of bond do they share besides the obvious? I can tell that they are all close but how close are they truly? Fuck this is confusing.

I guess I just have to watch a little while longer.

My eyes follow the newcomer as she sits in between of the two of them and hand my beloved the fresh mutt, I mean pup.

Instantly Embry’s face lights up as she holds the newborn like he’s the most precious person in the world. Then, she brings her face down to rub her nose along the tip of the pup nose and deeply sighs.

The other she-wolves smiles at her action as Embry whispers, “I still can’t believe that you’re a mommy wolf, Kaya.”

So they are sisters and the pup belongs to Kaya. Okay all three of them must be sisters than. How many siblings does Embry have?

Neither one of these girls we’re at the Northern border for that I’m sure. But I also know for a fact that I’ve seen the she-wolf Kaya before. What I am missing?

“I know,” say’s the wolf, Kaya. “I can’t believe it either, like honestly. Who would have thought that I would bear the first Wilde wolf into this family after a century?”

“I could believe it,” says the other wolf whose name I don’t know. “I mean come on you and Ryan humps like rabbits,” she finishes while stealing a cookie off of the plate.

All three of them burst out laughing and I can’t help but roll my eyes. That’s was way too much information and what she should have said was they hump like two dogs in heat because they are.

Anyway, one thing for certain and two things are for sure they are all related. They laugh too much.

“Wow, cool,” says the newcomer she-wolf as her eyes flickers in the direction of the canvas. “Is that us. Oh, my Goddess! Embry you really outdid yourself,” she says while taking a stand and walking over to receive a better view of Embry’s painting.

I follow Embry and the other she-wolf as they make their way over there as well.

“Thank you,” politely responds my beloved. She is still holding the pup. Now, that I’m closer I can see why she’s obsessed with it. He’s a cute little mutt, I mean pup.

Wait! Why the fuck am I saying a pup is cute? What the actual fuck?

“It’s called The Bonds of Autumn,” she announces, gaining my attention.

My eyes travel in the painting direction. “Wow,” is the first thing that comes to mind. The she-wolf is right. Embry really did outdo her self. “Talented,” is the second.

The vibrant color patterns depict the personality of the three she-wolves.

The she-wolf Kaya is full of sunshine and happiness based upon the colors of bumblebee, daisy, Tuscan sunny yellow, that Embry used to display how she feels about her. I can also see, the unknown she-wolf is bossy, bold, and sophisticated in Embry’s mind.

She utilized bright colors such as rich red, scarlet, and olive green to uniquely blend the colors together to express how she perceives the she-wolves personalities.

“It’s absolutely amazing,” says Kaya.

It truly is amazing.

In the middle of the both of the she-wolves sit my beloved with the colors of marigold, pumpkin, and burnt orange creating that award-winning smile that Embry has, officially bringing the painting to life. Embry then utilized multiply colors of vibrant purples to provide the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red, expressing her loyalty and to explain how powerful the two she-wolves makes her feel.

Nicklaus once said to me that a picture speaks a thousand words.

"Art is a form of expression. It speaks the colorful language when dull words are unable to explain the intensity of the moment. A paintbrush can paint a vivid picture of the six identified basic emotions," he also said to me.

I never truly understood what he meant into now.

Embry portrait speaks volumes.

She loves them. I mean really, really loves them.

The Bonds of Autumn. These two she-wolves are dear to my beloved heart. She loves them and would give her life for any one of them just like I would give my life for any one of my seven brothers, even without the bond of blood.

These she-wolves are her sisters, even if they aren't really her sisters.

For the first time, since I met Embry I've found something that we have in common.

My beloved once again manages to surprise me.

She truly is a special little wolf.
