Chapter 21
Can't Win Me Back Chapter 21
Wave after wave, the applause continued, endless and fervent.
Victoria grew uneasy. "Nathan, Bella's designs are so well-received. She'll be my biggest threat to winning the championship."
Nathan's expression darkened as he replied coldly, "As long as I'm here, no one can stop you from winning."
His brooding gaze fell on Isabella who was dressed in a modestly priced suit. His lips curled into a faint smirk. "Professor Jasmine is the founder of a luxury brand that caters exclusively to European royalty and nobility.
Isabella's designs are impressive, but her inherent humility and impoverished background won't escape Jasmine's discerning eye. Jasmine's style epitomizes wealth and luxury. She would never accept a designer from such a lowly origin. Just watch. Jasmine won't give her a high score, let alone take her as an apprentice."
Victoria's eyes lit up. "Nathan, your insight is unparalleled."
She heaved a sigh of relief. "Thankfully, Bella doesn't have the money to dress herself in luxury."
Nathan's smirk deepened. "She was too proud to accept my help back then. Now that she's suffering the consequences, it's only a matter of time before she comes crawling back to me."
Unexpectedly, Professor Jasmine stood up, her eyes alight with excitement and delight, as if she had just discovered an oasis after wandering a desert for ages.
"Ms. Thea, the outfit on your model is crafted from Dormeuil fabric-the same used in coats for Queen Elizabeth-and features a crown adorned with dazzlingly valuable jewels. This ensemble, valued in the eight-figure range, carries no trace of ostentation or extravagance. It perfectly captures the allure of Oriental femininity.
Your design has truly touched my heart."
Victoria was dumbfounded.
"Impossible! How could Isabella afford such expensive. materials?"
Nathan's handsome face darkened like a stormy sky.
He had never expected the Isabella he once controlled to thrive so brilliantly beyond his grasp. This realization tore at his sense of control, leaving him humiliated and infuriated.
The judges in the audience began to stand and applaud, their cheers resonating throughout the venue.
"Bravo!"
""Excellent!"
"Incredible!"
Victoria broke down, sobbing into Nathan's chest. "Nathan, Professor Jasmine is so impressed by Isabella's work. All my years of effort are about to go to waste. I'll never be her student now. My career is over!"
Nathan snapped out of his thoughts, looking at Victoria's tear-streaked face. Without hesitation, he made a promise. "Victoria, don't worry. I'll find a way to make Isabella give up her apprenticeship opportunity for you. If she declines Professor Jasmine's invitation, Jasmine will have no choice but to take you instead."
"But what if Bella refuses?" Victoria asked anxiously. "She's worked just as hard as I have for this competition."
Nathan gave her a reassuring look. "Relax. I'll compensate her with money. As the young madam of the Hill family, she doesn't need to start her own career."
The competition concluded with Isabella winning by a single point, earning the championship title. Professor Jasmine personally presented her with the award. However, as the event ran late, the organizers decided to cut the live mentorship selection segment.
The host announced on stage, "This concludes the competition. Judges who are interested in taking students can do so privately."
Isabella watched Professor Jasminé leave the stage, her eyes tinged with disappointment.
