Caliph

Chapter 10

Rais & Abdul Aziz

2002

These days, Rais got lessons about struggle. For him, the battle of Muslims, his people, in America was not a struggle that could be underestimated. Since the tragedy of the World Trade Center, Muslim life in America had changed dramatically.

Muslims inside America were also affected by what America was doing in the Middle East.

“For centuries, Muslims have lived peacefully in this country. Now we are no more than a minority. We are seen with fear, and worse, political manipulation.

“The slogan ’war on terrorism is becoming increasingly tense as if it were a war on Muslims. In the first house that we visited earlier, you see that they already have a clear view that Muslims are terrorists and Islam is a violent religion. Also, Islam is a threat to Western life.

" 9/11 has given us surprise therapy. It namely that we must strengthen our faith and unite as a community, a unity.” Abdul Aziz said.

“Are not even Muslims now becoming a unity?” asked Rais.

“You’re right, brother. Look at a decade ago. How many people wear a turban on American streets?

“Now, in fitness places, supermarkets, or other public places, we can easily find women who wear hijab. Even companies have given special time for Muslim employees to pray five times a day.”

Rais was silent, thinking about whether his father’s company also provided the allocation. If not, then they must be ashamed.

“After the 9/11 attacks, Muslims must strengthen their identities. We cannot avoid being in the midst of American society. We need to be more open. Do we allow anyone to visit mosques, Islamic centers, or even Islamic events?”

“Do you have to go that far?”

“Yes, we must do it in totality. We must open the eyes of America and the world to who Muslims are.

“We see the history of Muslims in our country. We have never tried to be truly ‘western’. We still maintain values that cannot be changed from Islam while we blend in with our country’s people.

“We create a world where we can comfortably live the teachings of Islam, especially now that we have entered the second generation.”

“What do you mean by the second generation?”

“That is the generation after Muslims who came as immigrants to our country. Today, our generation has been more open-minded.”

“Open-minded?”

“Yes. Many of our generation’s Muslim women wear the hijab, even though their mothers do not. That’s just one example. My point is, that now the Muslims in our country have made Islam an intellectual milestone.

“They no longer follow their teachings blindly, but they know why they became Muslims. They do not follow the teachings of Islam because the priest is a symbol of religion. But they study the Koran and the Hadith carefully and understand the logic behind the teachings.”

“Can you give me an example?”

“The Scholar who said that music is haram. Our generation will question the logic behind it. If so, they will obey. If not, then there is no reason. Isn’t this an excellent thing?”

“I agree that we must renounce dogmas that have no basis.”

“We hold to the Qur’an and Sunnah. We must question things that are not listed there, all of them.”

“Who is the most competent for us to ask?”

“We can go to Scholars or religious experts.”

“What if they are wrong?”

“What if they are right?”

“Seriously, what if they are wrong?”

“We don’t have only one mosque. If a mosque no longer represents the truth, can’t we move to another mosque? ”

“Your answer makes sense.”

Brethern, it is no longer a secret that Muslims have become targets of oppression and harassment by Jews and Christians. This shows us that they have looked down on Muslim blood and property. Our blood has been shed in Palestine and Iraq. Not to mention what has happened in Lebanon, Somalia, Myanmar, Kashmir, Chechnya, Somalia, Tajikistan, and others.

All happens with a world that closed its eyes, also the fake-faced United Nations, as if to condemn, but they are only puppets from the United States.

Muslims must realize that we are the main target of a coalition of crusaders and Jews. Control of Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem is the proof.

Now we must fight the Jewish and Christian coalitions.

May Allah be with us.

I have blown up Riyadh and Khobar. Hopefully, it will serve as a warning to the Saudi regime. Those who replace Allah’s law with man-made law must accept the consequences of their actions. Man-made law will fail and be destroyed.

Brother in Saudi Arabia, please realize that this country has become the largest buyer of weapons from America. Please realize that we have bought things from unbelievers and prospered them. We have benefited Israel and become responsible for the deaths of our brothers in Palestine.

I warn you that our brothers in Palestine are screaming for help. They need us to strive against the enemies of Allah.

They ask for your help!

You must know that after the end of the Cold War, America has now made Islam, its main enemy. The invasion of Islamic countries is proof.

If you are not a target now, believe that one day your turn will come.

Therefore, be prepared. I will declare jihad in your hearts and kindle your spirits.

Let’s kill all infidels!

If you don’t, then they will kill us.

These are challenging times, but Allah is with us. May peace be with all of us.

Rais, 2003

In the next stage, Rais became the assistant of a truck driver. He transported sand from one place to another. The driver who became his boss was an Asian descent. He ordered Rais to move sand sacks from the factory to the truck. Rais had to jump, shovel, and carry a sack filled with sand.

They traveled around America often enough to find out how street life between states was. Some illegal levies occurred by some people. It appealed to Rais how these unscrupulous people tried to make money quickly. Sometimes they slept on the streets. Rais often witnessed the theft of trucks or cars.

Although he had discovered many dark sides of human life, Rais had not seen its connection with religious extremism.

What built them?

What made their faith?

One time he found an Arab-faced, trying to steal a car. Within seconds, The Arab had started his stolen car, a Chevrolet. But unlucky for that person, a patrol car had come. They mugged the person.

Rais sneaked up from behind then he beat the two police. His martial arts skills have enabled him to incapacitate two armed police in less than a minute.

Rais then ran to the stolen car. He sat next to the person who introduced himself as Nurul. After making their way to a place they felt safe, Rais and Nurul talked. Rais asked about the origin of Nurul. Nurul answered that he was an illegal immigrant who had come to America to carry out the mission of “The Great Leader”.

Gradually, Rais understood that Nurul was a part of the extremist network.

“I’m interested in joining you,” said Rais after they talked.

Nurul seemed to suspect Rais, but after a minute, he nodded.

“Then how will we move next?” Rais asked.

“I am waiting for orders from the High Commander,” said Nurul.

“How do you know when will he contact us?”

Nurul was about to answer, but suddenly the sound of police sirens surrounded them. Rais saw something wrong. He pulled Nurul to run through a door. But in just seconds, they were covered. Rais stretched Nurul to climb to the roof. But Nurul was not as skilled as a Rais in climbing. He fell and was killed.

The police surrounded Nurul’s body and looked up. Rais hid between the roofs. None of the police officers saw him. Some of them shined his flashlight, but Rais managed to hide.

After the police left, Rais went down. They had taken Nurul’s body in it. But after only a few steps, Rais came out of the warehouse. Someone held him up.

“Freeze!” said the man.

Rais raised his hand. The person arrested him.

“I knew there were two of you. Now come with me, bandits!”

Damn, this guy called me a bandit, Rais said.

The man turned out to be a Sheriff. Rais was herded into a police car.

After arriving at the sheriff’s office, Rais was put in a regional prison.

“I’ll leave you to the head office tomorrow,”

“Is that so?”

“Depending on your behavior,”

“What do you mean?”

“Depends on how you behave.”

Rais understood this is a type of corrupt police that he could easily recognize. Rais did not respond to this person. He only slept in his cell. Rais expected criminals who are classier than just corrupt policemen. But at that time, there was nothing he could do. Even calling was not permitted. He knew this corrupt policeman would try to arrest him.

It turned out that the next morning, the corrupt policeman was found dead. Some Arab-faced men took the cell key and released Rais. They turned out to peek at what happened and saw Rais helping Nurul while stealing a car.

Later, they offered Rais to join.

This is what I’ve been waiting for, Rais thought.

Ibn Awwad’s Lecture on Al Qaeda

2003

When we meet infidels, kill them!

That has become teaching in the Qur’an.

The Crusaders took control of the Arabian peninsulas and dredged their wealth, our wealth, the Islamic ummah. Their unity makes us weak. There is nothing to argue about it.

America has controlled the holy cities of Muslims, terrorizing its citizens, and defaming their religion. There is no invisible evidence in this matter.

Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have died at the hands of infidels, and America does not want to stop there. They will soon develop the invasion. They want Muslim power to be divided into small pieces to make it easier for them to destroy us.

America declared war on Allah and His Messenger, and there is no more sacred duty than fighting the enemy of Allah.

Therefore, I consider it necessary to call on all Muslims throughout the world to kill Americans and their allies, wherever they are, for the sake of freeing Al Aqsa and expelling their armies from the lands of Islam.

Kill them because they want to kill us!

They are taking our land so that they can oppress us. Therefore, by Allah’s permission, let’s kill and seize American citizens’ property and their allies, wherever they are found. They are allies of Satan and the culprit of all the misfortunes on this earth.
