Brutal Savage: Chapter 26
I’m alone in the kitchen the following morning after just finishing my run around the property. Definitely plan to do that whenever I can. It’s just so beautiful here. The smell of freshly cut grass, the view of the mountains.
Ruby already made breakfast, leaving some bacon and waffles on my plate.
I didn’t see Tynan when I woke up and wondered where he had gone so early. It’s only six thirty, but he’s probably at work already. Seems like he’s always working.
I’m thankful for some alone time, though. Time to process what happened between Tynan and me last night.
Magical, earth-shattering things…
I can’t believe I let him fuck me. But I can’t get it out of my mind, and how much I want it to happen again.
How much I crave him in my bones.
It should repulse me that he was touching me while I was asleep, yet it only turned me on. Is that what I’m into?
I don’t even know the things I like. Jerry was revolting. And the guy before him was very straightlaced. He never even went down on me.
But Tynan? Well, he clearly has no problems with that.
The way his tongue moved…I’ve never felt anything like it. I was tired when he carried me to another bedroom, vowing to get our bed cleaned tomorrow. I had never squirted before. Never even realized I could, but wow. There’s no going back after that, because it was truly amazing.
“Good morning.” His voice booms behind me, hands on my shoulders, startling me with a jolt. “Did you sleep better last night?”
“Mm-hmm.” My face flushes as I glance back, my body prickling when those large palms caress up and down my arms.
He’s dressed in a dove-gray suit, and I’m unsure if he’s been home the whole time or just got in.
“Good.” He presses a kiss behind my ear, and I swear I melt.
I shouldn’t be melting. Yet here I am, feeling things for him. Dangerous things.
He pours himself a cup of coffee and takes my empty mug and adds more into it. “I have to run to the office today for a little bit, but I should be back later.” He drags in a slow sip, eyes burning into mine. “I also arranged for you to shop somewhere else tomorrow. I promise they will take care of you. I’ll make sure of that.”
“Thanks. But it’s really not necessary.”
“It is. Also, they will be dropping off some evening gowns later today for you to try on.”
“Why? Are we going somewhere?”
“Yes. We have a charity event tonight at six. I completely forgot about it.”
“Oh. What charity?”
“It’s one I started years ago. For childhood cancer research.”
My eyes widen.
“You look surprised.” He laughs dryly.
“I just…”
“Didn’t think someone in the Mob gave a shit about a bunch of sick kids?”
I nod.
“Well, this one does.”
My husband has a heart.
“Uh…” My face grows hot at what I want to bring up, but it feels like an elephant in the room.
“What is it, Elara?”
“Um…” I pick up the mug, my hands growing warm around it. “About last night. It was nice, but…”
But I’m terrified of how good it was.
He drops his coffee on the counter and comes over to me, cupping my face in his hands. “I’m not here to push or make you uncomfortable. I just got distracted by how gorgeous you looked in our bed. It won’t happen again unless you want it to.”
I want it to…
“Okay.”
He removes his hands from me, and I want them to return so badly, I ache. He starts to head out instead.
“Tynan…”
“Yes, babe?”
“Where do you work?”
“We own a corporation, which handles all our business. I run it. Lots of paperwork.” He hits me with a lopsided grin.
I’m sure it’s more than just paperwork, but I don’t say it aloud. I don’t want to know what he actually does. The people he certainly kills.
“Have a good day at work, then.”
He nods. “Enjoy your day too.”
Then he’s walking away, and when the door shuts, I kinda wish I’d kissed him goodbye.
Hours later, after Brody and I have had a fun day swimming in the biggest pool I’ve ever seen, we decide to watch a movie. He chooses Toy Story, which was always a favorite for Mom and me.
At the thought of her, tears brim in my eyes. I miss her so much. I wish she was still here to talk to. With a sniffle, I wipe under my lashes, and Brody’s alarmed expression turns to me. He places a palm on my cheek, and when those sweet eyes land on mine, all it does is make me cry even more.
I hug him tight to me. “I’m okay. Just thinking about my mom. I miss her very much.”
It’s then I sense him crying too, harder with every breath he takes.
“It’s okay, sweetheart. You can miss them with me.”
For minutes, we remain each other’s lifeline, feeling these emotions that sit dormant inside us. I’m glad he feels comfortable enough to cry with me.
“Maybe one day, you can tell me all about your parents.”
Teary eyes look up at me as he nods.
“I bet they were special and you miss them very much.”
He pouts, tears leaking down his cheeks.
“I love you, Brody.”
That makes his eyes fill with fresh tears. His arms jump around me, and he hugs me with all his might. I know this is his way of telling me he loves me right back.
Minutes pass when we finally put on the TV, and before I can turn on the movie, a news broadcast catches my eye.
“What the…”
A newscaster stands before a charred store, and it’s the name that makes my heart beat faster.
“The owner of the Carolina Herrera store in Boston says she’s completely distraught that the space burned to the ground late last night and into the morning hours. The fire marshal does not have an official cause yet, but he has told us they suspect it was bad wiring.”
I don’t hear the rest of it.
What are the chances? Maybe it’s karma? Though I didn’t want that to happen. That’s her livelihood.
Tynan appears in my thoughts.
Could he have…
No. He wouldn’t.
Your husband is in the Mob. Of course he would.
Oh, crap.
TYNAN
I have no idea if she knows I ordered Vera’s store to go up in flames, nor do I need her to know.
Whether she’s aware or not, I’ll always be there to protect her. Make all her wrongs right.
It’s what a husband does.
Vera’s lucky her store was all I took. She was close to losing her life, although I figured Elara might object to that line of justice.
The day drags, but thinking about my wife makes it tolerable. I hope I didn’t scare her off with what I did. Because that’s the last thing I want.
Images of us from last night fill my mind. The way she took my cock. How hard she came. The way it felt to wake up beside her this morning.
I watched her sleeping for a while before I got out of bed. My hand stroked her face, and I swear she smiled in her sleep.
I groan. I’d rather be with her and Brody instead of here in the office.
But there’s work to be done. The deal with the Russians had a little hiccup. One of their suppliers ended up dead, so they’re in the process of working with another. That may cause a delay in shipment, however, and my father isn’t too happy about it.
Once I’m finally done for the day and out of the office, I text Elara so she knows I’ll be home soon.
Our charity event is in three hours. I cannot wait to see her in a dress I bought her, which I’m gonna enjoy ripping off her after we get home.
Getting into my car, I make it home in forty minutes, pulling into the driveway and parking the SUV next to my Ferrari.
Stepping out, I greet my men at the front before making my way inside.
As soon as I enter the foyer, Bubbles comes bouncing up, growling at me as she normally does. We still have a love/hate relationship going on, like with every other person in my life apparently. Why would the dog be any different?
“Hi to you too, yappy.” I move past her just as Brody comes running with a squeaky toy.
“Hey, buddy. You have a good day?”
I don’t expect a response. I know better than to expect anything at this point.
Then, out of nowhere, he looks up at me and nods with the biggest smile.
A flush of adrenaline hits my center, my heart racing.
Glancing behind me, I wonder if there’s someone else there.
He has never done that with me before.
For the first time, I’m speechless.
Before I can say anything else, he gathers Bubbles in his arms and scurries out of the room.
Immediately, the first thing I want to do is tell Elara all about it. She’s probably upstairs getting ready for the evening. I should let her finish instead of distracting her, but damn, do I wanna see her.
I start for the kitchen, knowing Ruby is probably finishing dinner for Brody. When I walk in, she’s wiping her hands by the counter.
“Wait until you see her!”
Well, now I have to go and take a look for myself.
“Is she almost ready?”
“I think so.” Her eyes gleam. “You look happy, you know that?”
My mouth forms a thin line. “What gave that away?”
She waves off my tight expression. “You’re not fooling anyone. I’ve never seen you this happy, not until you met her, so stop lying to yourself.”
“Yeah, yeah.” I start heading out. “I’ll see you later, Ruby.”
Her laugh echoes as I rush for the stairs, taking two at a time, needing to see my wife.
As soon as I open the bedroom door, the sight of her stops me dead in my tracks. My gaze roves down her body, attempting to simultaneously cling to every stunning inch of her, unsure where to look first.
“Wow.” My voice goes low, my heart close to giving out.
She’s in a long silver dress with a glistening belt around the middle. The straps are thin, dipping to a V to show off her full chest.
May wanna consider keeping her home tonight. Not sure what I’m bound to do if someone looks at her like they shouldn’t.
“Good?” A smile tugs at her lips, bright red lipstick making them extra kissable. And definitely extra fuckable.
My cock swells to the point of pain.
Hell. I should fuck her before we go.
I force my legs to move. “Good? I’m speechless.”
As I grasp her nape, my lips hover until I can almost kiss her.
Her long lashes flutter, and she stares at me, all shy and sexy as hell.
“You look insanely gorgeous. Jesus, Elara.” My mouth drops closer, a groan escaping from my chest when her lips brush mine. “Fuck, I wanna kiss you.”
“You’d ruin my lipstick.” Her breathless tone has my jaw tightening, my fingers spreading in her hair.
“That’d be a shame.” I can’t help my deep grunt. “I’d at least like to wait until the plane ride to fuck your pretty mouth.”
“Jesus, Tynan,” she pants.
I can’t be an asshole. I can’t ruin how beautiful she looks.
You could just bend her over and lift her dress…
“Go sábhála mac Dé sinn,” I mutter, and her brows snap.
“What does that mean?”
I let out a sardonic chuckle. “I’m asking for divine intervention to stop me from fucking you senseless right now, babe.”
She beams at me, her shy, sexy smile not helping matters.
I grab her jaw, grinding my teeth. “We need to get the hell out of here.”
I force my hand off of her. The more I touch her, the more volatile this situation is gonna get.
The sass returns to her gaze, and she’s running her hands down her hips, grinning salaciously. “I really like this dress.”
I’m on her before she can take her next breath.
Rolling her long hair around my wrist and yanking her head back, I bring her ear to my lips. “You’re going to be a huge distraction for everyone tonight, especially me.”
I run my nose down her neck, nipping her shoulder as she whimpers.
“You’re going to have to forgive all the dead bodies tonight, Mrs. Quinn. ’Cause anyone who looks at you will find themselves no longer breathing.”
“Maybe I should change, then,” she whispers. “Wouldn’t want to be responsible for your murderous escapades.”
“Fuck,” I growl, licking along her jaw, needing a taste. “You’re such a little cocktease.” With a jerk of my hand, I’m roughly dragging up her dress, my fingers tracing between her thighs. “No panties, huh?”
“Tynan!” she cries when two fingers thrust inside her, fucking her just a little bit, just enough to satiate my need for her.
She gasps and cries, clawing my bicep, begging me for it. But when her walls start to clench, I release her.
Grinning like a motherfucker at her hooded expression, I bring the fingers that were inside her to my mouth. Our gazes align as I suck her taste onto my tongue.
“So fucking good. Now, you wait here until I finish taking a shower, and you’d better behave while I get dressed. Because I swear, Elara…” I grab the back of her neck. “Tease me again, and I’m gonna rip this dress to shreds. Understand?”
She nods, her chest flying up and down.
“Good girl.” I lean in and kiss the corner of her mouth. “I’ll be quick, I promise.”
I start to reluctantly head to the master bath.
“Tynan?”
I turn to her, admiring her flushed and sexy appearance.
“Can I ask you something? And please promise to tell me the truth.” Worry grows in her eyes, and that has me standing straighter.
“What is it?”
“Well, I caught the news today, and I saw something. I don’t know if it was you or…”
Ah, so she did see that. Good. Now she knows.
“You want to know if I burned down the store.”
She nods.
“Yes, Elara…” I stalk toward her, clasping the back of her head. “It was my doing. I ordered it.”
Her mouth parts, and her eyes enlarge.
“And I’d do it again. I’ll hurt anyone who hurts you.”
“Why?” Tears appear in her eyes.
“Because you’re mine, Elara Quinn. And no one hurts my wife. Does that answer your question?”
She swallows thickly and nods.
“Glad we worked that out.” I kiss the tip of her nose.
She stands there, awestruck, while I head for the bathroom, hoping she realizes I meant every damn word.
