Brutal Savage: Chapter 13
I can still smell her on my fingertips when I walk into my home. Still hear the way she moaned for me, begging me to come.
I didn’t think that would even happen. I didn’t intend to do it, yet I couldn’t help myself. She ran her poison straight to my heart, and all I could think of was kissing her and making her feel good.
I should’ve fucked her bent over against the wall. Yet I resisted. I don’t know why. Never had a problem taking what I wanted, and she’s exactly what I want. But she and I, it’s destined to happen. It’s only a matter of time.
“Come on, Bubbles, drop the shoe!” Ruby calls.
When I stalk into the living room, I find her and Brody chasing after the dog.
Fuck.
Bubbles has one of my loafers in her mouth. Italian fucking leather destroyed.
“Oh, come on…” I groan.
They both look up at me, finally realizing I’m home.
“I’m so sorry!” Ruby’s shoulders deflate. “She’s relentless. And she seems to like your shoes more than anyone else’s. This is the third one she’s destroyed.”
“Great.” I clench my jaw, and when Brody catches my irritated look, his face falls.
Shit, I should relax. They’re just shoes. The kid’s happy; that’s all that matters.
“It’s okay, Ruby. I’ve got it from here.”
“Are you sure?” She’s visibly breathless, and I feel sorry for that.
“Yes, go relax. I’ve got the little monster.”
“Okay.” She shakes her head. “Puppies are tough.”
“I can see that.”
“Oh, and she peed in your office.”
“Ugh, fuck…”
“Language,” she tsks. She’s the only one I’d let reprimand me. “I cleaned it already, but wanted to let you know. You may want to hire a trainer.”
I shut my eyes, seriously regretting the decision to get Bubbles with each passing second.
She walks out of the room, leaving me with a pouting Brody and the dog running with a shoe in her mouth.
“It’s okay, buddy. I’m not mad.”
His mouth thins.
“Come on, Bubbles. Drop it.”
She stands in front of me, growling, tail wagging, shoe still in her mouth as though taunting me.
Kinda reminds me of Elara. I laugh to myself at the thought of that feisty woman whenever she stands up to me. I like that very much.
I pounce toward the pup, but at the last second, she jumps out of my way and starts for the den.
Brody runs after her, grinning wide, and that has me smiling too. She can destroy all the leather she wants if she can get him to smile like that.
“Maybe we should grab one of her treats to tempt her. Why don’t you get the new bones we got her? They should be in the kitchen under the sink.”
He nods and rushes out. Less than a minute later, he has one in his hand.
“Look what Brody has, Bubbles.”
As soon as I say his name, she turns and sees it in his hand, and that’s all it takes. She sprints toward him, dropping the shoe.
One look at it, and I groan, picking up the slobbery, torn-up loafer. Gonna have to hide all of my shoes from now on.
Brody brings Bubbles to her bed in the corner of the room, and she chews on her bone while I toss the shoe in the trash in the kitchen.
“Hello? Anyone home?” My father’s voice carries from the foyer, and I go to see what he wants, hoping he hasn’t come to pester me again.
“Hey, Dad.” I incline my chin in greeting as soon as I see him. “What are you doing here?”
“You’re always so pleasant.” He chuckles. “I’m just here to say hello. Have a minute?”
I inhale sharply, knowing to expect the worst. “Let’s go into my office.”
“Alright.” We pass Brody on the way, sitting beside the dog, and this is the first time my father has met her. “Hey!” He walks toward Bubbles, kneeling to pet her. “I’ve heard a lot about you. She’s so cute,” he tells Brody, who nods, refusing to smile.
Hopefully, once Elara is here, she can get this kid to smile for everyone.
The moment she comes to my mind, my cock twitches, still wanting inside her.
Scrubbing my face with a rough palm, I chase the scent of her away, needing to stop this madness.
“I’ll see you in a bit, buddy,” Dad tells Brody before we’re marching down the hall and entering my office.
I shut the door while he settles on the sofa.
“So, I needed to talk to you about a possible marriage arrangement.”
“Are you fucking kidding?” I run an irritated hand down my hair. “I told you last time I would never agree to that.”
“Yes, but you should take a look at her. She’s the daughter of one of our associates. Beautiful. Smart. Docile. Just the way you like them.”
“You don’t know what I like.”
Docile is the last thing I want. I want her tempered and fierce. I want to see the flames in her eyes.
It’s then I see Elara. And I hate it.
I can’t marry her. That would never work. I crave her too much. Would be impossible to keep our marriage as merely a business arrangement. I need to marry someone I feel nothing for.
This thing with her and me is just attraction. Heavy, burdening attraction that weighs on my chest until I can’t breathe. It’s why she can’t be the one I marry.
Yet who else is there?
My father ignores me and removes his phone, pressing a few buttons before he’s shoving it into my hand.
I stare at a brunette with brown eyes. She’s pretty. But she does nothing for me.
I hand him the cell back. “I don’t want her.”
He groans. “Look, son, you’re making this more difficult than it needs to be. Find a wife, make sure she’s what you want on paper, and get her pregnant. That’s all.”
“That’s all?” I chuckle, then my face turns hard. “You’re making me do something I never wanted to do.”
“But you want to take over for me. Unless you want me to pass my seat to Iseult. Though do you really want your lineage to die with you? Don’t you want children to pass along your wealth and your name to?”
“Maybe.”
That thought isn’t as bad as the thought of marriage, but I have Brody. However, for my father, that’s not enough. He wants lots of grandkids.
“That seat is mine.” I glare, and his mouth jerks.
“That’s my boy. Now, if you don’t agree to a wife on your own, you will marry Cassidy.” He lifts his phone in the air.
Fuck that.
“Do you have anyone else in mind at all? Or are you buying time, thinking I’ll bloody forget?”
“Maybe…”
Elara seems to be my only option. But she’ll never agree. Not willingly, anyway.
Though I don’t have to give her a choice. She needs money. I know the issues she’s having with paying for her grandfather’s care. I can pay for it and more. She’ll never want for anything with me.
I’ll have to think about it. Have to see what happens when she starts working with Brody.
“I’ve gotta go,” I tell my father. “You can see yourself out.”
“Love you too, son,” he calls out with amusement while I storm upstairs to take a damn shower.
The water roars to life as soon as I have it running. I step out of my clothes and enter under the steam.
Liquid pours down over my head, my cock hard and throbbing as I grab it in my palm and stroke it. Images of her storm into my mind.
The feeling of her pussy, how wet and warm it was when I finger-fucked it. I can feel it now, stretching over my fingers. Want to watch her cunt stretch to fit me. Gonna make her take every single one of my piercings and beg for more.
Should’ve dropped to my knees and tasted her.
“Oh, fuck.”
My head falls back against the tiled wall, and my balls ache as I imagine doing just that, throwing her leg on my shoulder and running my tongue over her wet cunt.
She bucks and groans, my name on her tongue as she yanks my hair and comes all over my mouth. And as she does, so do I, roaring as my cum shoots out, washed away by the water. Yet I’m still not satisfied, because I want the real thing.
I want her.
This is precisely why I can’t marry her… Yet the thought of her taking someone else’s last name makes my blood boil.
Elara Quinn. That sure has a nice ring to it.
When I’m done washing off, I get dressed and pick up the phone I left on my bed. Opening it, I find one of the photos I took. I need to know who this DK is. Grabbing my laptop from my dresser drawer, I enter our security system, hoping to find something on this person and how he knows Elara.
But I’m empty-handed. The number is encrypted at the highest level. Whoever she’s connected to knows how to hide his tracks. I stare at the number, knowing I shouldn’t call it.
To hell with that. I can’t sit here and do nothing. I need to know who is on the other line.
I dial it before I change my mind, and it rings twice.
“Hello?” a man answers. “Hello? Evelyn? What are you doing calling me from this number?”
Who the hell is Evelyn?
The phone clicks, and I realize he hung up.
Shit.
Maybe I should just call back and scare the fuck out of him so he tells me who he is and how Evelyn is connected to Elara.
But when I do, I realize that the number is now disconnected.
“Damn it!” I squeeze the phone in my grasp.
What have I done?
Now I really have nothing to go on.
