Bridging Worlds: Book 1 Celestoria's Time

Chapter Forbidden Whispers

In the far land stood the renowned Mage Academy of Crystalpeak, a school for young mages. Rosche found herself in the middle of a class with Master Eldric, the droning lecture on arcane theory lulling her into a state of boredom. Her attention waned, and an irresistible urge to escape the confines of the classroom gripped her.

With stealthy precision, she eased herself out of her seat, hoping not to attract Master Eldric’s attention. The lecture continued, the distant hum of magical energy mingling with her footsteps as she slipped out of the classroom and into the hallowed halls of the academy.

As Rosche wandered beyond the academy’s gates, a persistent thought gnawed at her—she wanted to summon magic, even though she knew it was beyond her grasp. The whispers of those who claimed she was born without magic echoed in her mind, but the truth was, she had a magical root, albeit a damaged one. She refused to accept their verdict; she wouldn’t give up until she found a solution.

Determined, Rosche stood in a secluded spot, closed her eyes, and attempted to conjure magic. The air crackled with latent energy, but her efforts yielded no visible results. Disheartened, she sighed, acknowledging the challenge that lay ahead.

However, the burning desire to decipher the mystery of her magical root fueled her steps. They said she couldn’t do it, but deep down, she knew there had to be a way. As she continued to explore, each footfall became a declaration of her resilience.

And then, as if guided by fate, she stumbled upon the library—a haven of ancient knowledge and potential answers.

As Rosche stepped inside, the towering shelves held the weight of countless ancient tomes, each one whispering secrets of arcane wisdom. Today, her purpose was clear – to find a book that could mend the faltering connection to her magical roots.

Her eyes scanned the shelves, and there it was – an old, leather-bound book that stood out amidst the others. Its title, partially obscured by time and wear, beckoned her with the promise of answers. As she carefully pulled it from the shelf, anticipation fluttered in her chest. Could this be the key she’d been searching for?

Before she could open the mysterious book, the heavy oak door creaked open, and Master Gaza entered the sacred chamber. Her silver robes flowed gracefully, and her authoritative voice broke the silence. “Rosche, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be in class?”

Rosche's heart sank, and she stammered an apology. Master Gaza took the book from her hands with swift motion, her stern voice echoing through the library. “This book is forbidden. It contains knowledge beyond your understanding. You shouldn’t have glimpsed it.”

Guilt and fear gripped Rosche as she left the library, her head hung low. Master Gaza’s worried expression lingered in her thoughts, and the forbidden book seemed to cast a shadow over her quest for magical stability.

As she stepped out into the marble corridor, she muttered to herself, “Master Gaza looks so worried. What could that book be about?” Confusion and intrigue laced her voice as she adjusted her bag, the weight of her studies a comforting reminder of her magical potential.

Walking forward, Rosche couldn’t shake the feeling that her encounter with the forbidden tome had set her on a path filled with secrets and unexpected discoveries. The Mage Academy held more mysteries than she had ever imagined, and her quest for knowledge had taken an intriguing turn.
