Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 46
Chapter 46
Damien remained on edge for another week. Despite his worries, he didn’t allow anything to slip around Alan. So, with great fear, Ana told Damien to take Alan to watch a movie. There was a children’s film that Ana thought Alan could actually sit through.
“Take my car,” Ana said, handing Damien the keys.
“Why?”
“Because it’s a pain to switch the baby seat from car to car.”
“We don’t need to switch anything. I bought a car seat yesterday on my way back home.”
Ana was stumped. “You… bought one?”
“Yes…”
She stared at him. “How did you know what to buy?”
“The girl at the store helped me. I told her I needed the best car seat she had that fit Alan’s size.” He went on to give all the
measurements of Alan.
“Did you install it yourself?” she questioned.
“No. The guy at the fire station did. The people at the store said that was the safest and best.”
Ana gulped and continued to stare at him.
“What?”
“You’re amazing,” she grinned.
Aron mumbled something under his breath as he turned away, but Ana didn’t catch it. Ana sighed and helped get Alan out of the door. She watched with rapt fascination as Damien carefully buckled Alan into the baby seat and then climbed in the front and drove away.
Ana felt completely useless the whole day. She was supposed to help Dianna clean around the house, getting to know Alan’s grandparents better, but she kept staring at her phone like it was going to run after her and explode.
“They’ll be fine, Anastasia,” Dianna soothed as Ana checked her phone for the hundredth time. “Damien won’t allow anything to happen to Alan. He loves the little one.”
“I know. I just… what happens if Alan wanders off? You know there have been some disappearances…”
Dianna chuckled. “Ana, sweetie, I’d be surprised if Damien let go of Alan’s hand to go to the toilet. He was so nervous when he went
out.”
Ana groaned and hung her head in defeat.
“Do you remember your first outing with Alan?”
“Yeah, he was about two weeks old.”
“And were you nervous?”
“No,” Ana replied immediately.
“No?” Dianna asked, shocked.
“I was terrified. I was sure I would accidentally leave him somewhere or forget him in the car.”
Dianna laughed. “Yes, we parents live with the same fears. Damien is surely terrified of something going wrong too. But you can’t fidget around because you are nervous. If that was the case, no parent would ever get any work done.”
Anastasia sighed and nodded. For another hour or so, Ana remained silent. She heard Damien pulling up in front of the house. Ana ran to the window and watched as Damien pulled a sleeping Alan out of his seat. He carried the baby toward the house and Dianna and Ana both headed to the front door.
Damien opened the door just as they got there.

“Did you have a good time?” Dianna asked.
He hushed them, putting his free hand to his lips.
“How long has he been out?” Ana whispered.
“He fell asleep two minutes into the drive back home.”
Ana looked at the clock. It was two in the afternoon. “You fed him?”
“Yeah, I packed a lunch for him so that he didn’t have to eat those greasy foods outside.”
“Excellent.”
“Can I come in all the way now?” Damien asked.
Dianna and Ana backed out of the way immediately. Damien went into the living room and started to set Alan down on the sofa. Little Alan stirred and opened his eyes. He gave a sleepy grin and looked up at Damien.
“Love you, Daddy.” Alan yawned before turning over and closing his eyes again.
Everyone in the room froze. Damien took a second to lean down and kiss the side of Alan’s head. “I love you too, kid.”
He stood up after a second, completely baffled.
Ana was grinning from ear to ear as Damien stared at her. He swallowed hard and then he fled. Ana turned to Dianna with a look of confusion. “What just happened?” she asked, scared.
Dianna’s eyes were glistening with tears. “Give the boy a minute.”
“I thought he wanted this.”
“It is,” Dianna answered, thumbing away the tears that threatened to spill.
“Why is he upset, then?”
“He’s not upset… he’s overwhelmed and doesn’t want anyone to see it. You know how much he bottles up his emotions.”
Ana was at a loss for words. “Should I go after him?” she questioned helplessly.
“He’ll work through it himself. Come have some coffee with me in the meantime.”
About fifteen minutes later, Damien returned. He looked like he had been crying, but had tried really hard to wash away the evidence. So, Ana didn’t comment.
“Hi,” she said lightly and poured him a mug of coffee. He accepted the mug without a word and took a sip. “Are you okay?”
“Yes.”
Ana knew that was all she would get out of Damien.
“I’ll go back to the bedroom,” Dianna said, excusing herself.
When they were left alone, Damien took the seat next to Ana, staring at his drink.
“Did you have a good time at the movie?”
Damien nodded. “It was good. Would have been better if I knew what the story was about, but Alan seemed to like it.”
“Did he talk you through the whole thing?”
This made Damien chuckle. “Nearly. He jumped up and down, ate, and explained the whole universe to me. At one point, he tried to do all three, but he choked and I forced him to settle down.”
Ana smiled. “He obviously enjoyed himself… a lot.”
Damien glanced at her nervously. “Do you think he meant it?”
Damien didn’t have to clarify.
“Did you?” she retorted.
“Of course!”

Then you have your answer. Alan doesn’t have any filter. He says what he feels.”
Ana set her coffee down in the sink. “I’m going to help your mother out.”
“If only the rest of us could be honest like that,” Ana heard him grumble just as she walked out of the kitchen.
