Bora's Diary - The beauty and the beast

Chapter 16

LORYS

Bora seemed to be up for any kind of nonsense and was really eager to learn.

Now she was completely exhausted in my arms and snuggled up to me. I had to grin and couldn't stop myself from saying: "Should I write in your diary for you? Now that you're so weak?" I looked over at her and saw her roll her eyes, "You're brave, Lorys," she replied and looked up at me.

I just shrugged my shoulders and sighed, "Too bad, now I won't be able to read your diaries...". That was the only thing I could do to kill my time," I replied, to which she grinned.

"It's your own fault," she replied and also sighed contentedly.

She was suddenly so calm when I realized that she had fallen asleep in my arms that I had to smile.

I had finally found my queen, was lying with her in my room and nothing could stop me. In a few days I would appoint her as the Luna of this pack and the only thing missing was our puppies.

My heart literally swelled and I hugged Bora tightly to me. It almost felt strange... I was the cold-blooded alpha and this woman? She changed everything...

I pressed a kiss to her forehead before sleep caught up with me.

LORYS

The birds were chirping, the sun was shining into the room and Bora...

I suddenly opened my eyes and looked around in confusion.

Bora... where the hell was she?

I pinched myself, just to make myself realize that this wasn't a dream and we were in reality.

I smelled the sheets and her scent clung to them, sure enough....

Where could she be?

I got up to look for her and found her in the bathroom where she was washing her face.

"Oh God..." I murmured quietly to myself and felt a weight fall from my heart...

Damn, Bora...

"Good morning," she said after drying her face.

"Good morning," I replied and hugged her from behind.

"Did you sleep well?" she asked, to which I nodded and pressed my lips to hers "Wonderful," I replied and smiled at her. She nodded slightly "I can say the same," I replied and was suddenly interrupted in my thoughts.

Magnus...

"Alpha, we've called an urgent meeting," he explained to me, to which I sighed in disappointment and looked at Bora "Duty calls, I'll be right back as soon as I'm done," I explained to her, to which she nodded "Go ahead, I have some work to do," she said with a smile, to which I kissed her again, then quickly got dressed and ran out of the room.

I ran down the stairs, straight into the large council chamber, when Leonardo came rushing in after me and we all looked at each other in confusion.

"What happened?" we asked at the same time, and I looked at Magnus in particular, who seemed distraught.

"Congratulations, Alpha and Beta... We heard that you were successful last night!" Magnus suddenly said happily, to which we looked at him in irritation.

"Is this the urgent matter?" I asked him confusedly, to which he seemed to nod.

"Yes Alpha... We heard WHO your mate is and we're disappointed about it..." Magnus dared to say, whereupon I suddenly got angry, grabbed him by the neck and pushed him against the wall.

"Excuse me?" I growled through clenched teeth, feeling the need to tear him to pieces.

"She's not your equal as Luna.... She will doom our pack...", Magnus croaked, barely able to speak.

A growl came from my chest, making the whole room tremble, and I squeezed harder. Magnus was already turning blue, but didn't dare say anything.

"Do you even know who my mate is?" I growled at him savagely and let him fall to the floor.

"The handmaiden of the Blue Moon pack," he dared to say, to which I shook my head with a grin.

"You're so bloody wrong, Magnus... If anyone had listened to her, they'd know she's the daughter of the Alpha of the Brightstone pack," I said angrily, glaring at him.

He widened his eyes and swallowed audibly. "She's David's daughter?" he whispered quietly, looking around in utter confusion.

The other council members were also on their feet, watching what was happening.

I nodded slightly and sighed: "Yes, that's her. Leonardo picked her up when she was badly injured and brought her to the infirmary. Until recently, we didn't know she was still alive."

"But what if she was lying?" Magnus began, looking at me askance.

"Leonardo found her diary and I know all about it," I interrupted him grudgingly. The old man was starting to get on my nerves and I still wondered why he had so much to say.

His eyes widened as he agreed sympathetically and didn't make another sound.

"She's my mate, she's going to be the Luna in this pack and I don't want to hear any more of that sort of thing."

"With all due respect Alpha... She's Alpha David's only daughter... I think he's going to have a problem with that because she's his only descendant with Alpha blood in her. That means a lot more than just becoming the Luna of this pack... You would also become the new Alpha of the Brightstone pack..." Magnus explained, giving me pause.

I thought about his words and looked at Leonardo, frowning...

That would mean much more power for our pack, an increase in territory and much more. I hadn't thought of it like that... Magnus, the old codger, only ever thought about one thing - wealth.

I rubbed my temples and shook my head: "I'm not interested in the riches of Brightstone. What I care about is my mate," I clarified.

Another council member shook his head, "Alpha... That would be naive. Why don't you take the chance? There's nothing wrong with it, even if Alpha David won't like it..." he began and the other members nodded.

I was amazed at how my council members were thinking about everything. "I'll think about it, it's only seven in the morning..." I turned to Leonardo and nodded to him, "Come with me," I instructed him and I ran out the door, leaving everyone else standing there.

Leonardo followed me obediently and we went into my office.

I closed the door behind us so that no one could overhear us. "Magnus has a lot of nerve..." I growled and sat down on the chair.

He nodded slightly and sat down opposite me: "Yes, you can say that again... Can you explain to me what exactly happened last night?" he asked me, confused.

I shook my head with a grin and looked at him "You found your Little Red Riding Hood, didn't you?" I asked him, to which he nodded uncertainly "Yes? I think so..." he said, to which I nodded again.

"Little Red Riding Hood has been hiding something from us. Little Red Riding Hood isn't as innocent as she always pretends to be. When you intercepted her, she was on her way from here to the Brightstone pack with Bora. They didn't know we were her mates. While you were capturing Little Red Riding Hood, I was capturing Bora... The woman you rescued. She's my mate," I said as he stared at me with wide eyes.

"No wonder you were so intent on reading that diary..."

"The peaches I've been tasting all this time.... That was her," I said with a laugh.

"Oh God..." he laughed too and looked at me, "Little Red Riding Hood.... She's incredible," he suddenly said with a grin.

I rolled my eyes and sighed, "She's amazing and she's damn loyal to Bora to boot..." I replied, running my fingers through my hair.

He nodded slightly "Who would have thought... Now at least you can expand our pack by joining us with the Brightstones..."

Now Leonardo started too... "Why are you so intent on making our pack bigger? We've won the Blue Moon for ourselves. That's all we need at the moment."

He nodded slightly "I understand what you mean, but when an opportunity like this presents itself... Don't you want to take it?"

I rolled my eyes and leaned back. They weren't entirely wrong, it would bring us many benefits, one less pack to war with, an army of men at our disposal with peaceful intentions... and much more.

"I feel guilty towards Bora... I don't want her to think I'm after the land... I don't care about that. I want her," I finally answered him and he nodded in understanding.

"Yes, that really is a hot topic and should be treated with caution..." Leonardo also replied. At least on this point, he was on my side and understood my concerns.

"I've never thought about it like that before... Especially as I haven't really had time to think about it..."

"Yeah, you don't have to rush into anything, but maybe it would be good if you let her dad know that she's at least okay.... God knows how much he cares about her."

Leonardo was a friend and a helper. He always thought of everything and thankfully didn't pressure me into anything.

"Let's go out to dinner for the first time... I can barely keep my eyes open," Leonardo cooed and we both stood up.

"Go ahead, I'll catch up," I replied and ran into the bedroom.

I saw Bora tidying everything up.

"What are you doing?" I asked her, confused, and walked towards her.

I grabbed her hands and pulled her close so that I could breathe in her scent.

"Nothing, I'm just tidying up," she replied and looked up at me.

Those bright blue eyes mesmerized me and I couldn't imagine this woman cleaning up after me every day... She was a princess in the truest sense of the word and if her father knew that, he would probably kill me for making his daughter work so hard.

"No... That's definitely not part of your job," I replied.

She laughed softly and shook her head "Well, it was my job until yesterday... I really don't mind," she replied.

I took note in silence and didn't know what to say.

"Do you want to visit your pack? I think they're worried."

Suddenly she looked up at me and beamed.

"I'd love to..." she replied, stuttering, and I could hear her heart beating faster.

"You seem happy," I smiled at her and she nodded.

"I've been away from my family for too long... I think it almost killed my father that he couldn't help me"

"That's also why I want to take you to them..."

I refrained from asking his daughter to marry me, as I should have done.

She hugged me happily and nodded "Thank you", even pressing a kiss to my lips, which I returned.

"Let's go eat, it's going to be a long day."
