Chapter 28: The CEO Life

As John prepares for the biggest runway show in the world, I see how stressful it is for him. I mean, he has many responsibilities, I’m not even sure how he handles all of this plus his normal life outside of work! His modeling agency is already structured so that’s one less thing he doesn’t need to worry about. Even though he has employees to do most of his work, he holds the biggest responsibility in the agency. At times, I feel bad that he has much to get done and to look over, but I know he can handle it, I saw that he could!

Sometimes I really don’t know how he controls his frustration, I just saw him do that with Brad who was yelling at him. I’m surprised he let him do that, but I don’t know what they were talking about for him to yell like that, so I’ll just make sure I make it up to John.

His business is a high–stakes and high–pressure in the modeling world. He has people from all over coming to his shows, I mean big names and rich people! I know John carries a heavy burden on his shoulders and now, he’s going to have the biggest show in the world here in New York! Who can imagine all of this, because I can’t? John’s going to have to come up with a whole new strategy for this show, I’m hoping he has the right people by his side to help him. I don’t want to see him fail, even though he probably won’t, it’s just a thought.

I’m not sure if he is going to take a small break from this or just go right into the next show. I feel like he should take a break, maybe we can go on a vacation so that he can cook! I’m going to ask him once we are alone together. My love for him runs

deep, so I’m going to do what I can to make his life easier, I’m not going to lose this hunk of a man! He has everything I’ve ever wanted in life and if that means I gotta do as he says, then I must do that!

THE NEXT MORNING:

We both woke up late, later than we normally get up, it’s because we had a late night with drinks. John wakes groggily and I’m just having a headache. While we lay in bed, John rolls over and kisses me, then he gets in the shower, I’m sure to get rid of his hangover. I got dressed and went downstairs to the kitchen and made a pot of coffee. When John came into the kitchen, he was wearing his white robe, and damn, he looks so sexy in that robe. He sits at the table and asks for a cup of coffee. I lured him a cup and myself a cup and we both sat at the table. John seems to be thinking hard about something for some reason because he’s sitting at the table with his hand over his chin looking up at the ceiling.

“Babe, what’s wrong?” I asked.

“Nothing. I just have much work to get done today, since taking the day off after the show and planning this next show there’s so much work to get done,” John replied.

“Oh, I know, I’m here to help you!” I replied.

“I know you’re. And I thank you, it’s just I’m the only one who can get this work done. Being the CEO is a rough position to take on, I love my job, it’s just going to be rough for a bit,” John said.

“Maybe once everything calms down for you we can go on vacation!” I said.

“Ahhh, maybe. We’ll see,” John chuckled.

John finished his eggs and toast and quickly left for work. Our kiss was even a quick one. I didn’t get upset about the quick kiss because I knew he had to hurry to work, so I didn’t make a big deal of it. I have the week off since I won and I’m going to enjoy it, I can’t wait to see how much I get paid for winning! I’m not even sure how I will get paid and when I’ll get paid, I’ll go into the office today and ask Brad, he should know. I don’t wanna bother John with something petty like that while he’s working.

I’m going to bring John a nice lunch and we can have lunch at the office. I’m sure he will like that! Before going to his office, I stopped at the Hard Rock Cafe and picked up his favorite sandwich, which is their famous Italian sub. They are known for. I headed over to the office and when I arrived there and walked inside, I couldn’t believe how busy everyone looked. I mean, everyone was running around like something big was going on. Then as I was walking up to the second floor, I saw a news team. I have no idea as to why they are here, so I’m going to ask John about it.

First I stopped at Brad’s office. I had to ask him about my pay. Once I got to Brad’s office and went inside, Brad was sitting at his desk.

“Hey Brad, how are you?” I asked,

“Oh, hey, Star. I’m great. How are you?” Brad replied.

“I’m great as well,” I said.

“Congratulations on the big win! I knew you had it in you,” Brad

→said, excitedly.

“Thank you. I wanted to ask you about my pay if that’s okay?‘ I asked.

“Oh sure, what do you need to know?” Brad replied.

“Well, when and how will I get paid?” I said.

“Models get paid once a month and it will go into your bank account,” Brad said.

“Okay. Would you happen to know how much I’ll get?” I asked.

“Yes. Since you are doing well you will get paid 100.00 an hour. It usually comes out to be 50,000 a year,” Brad said.

“Oh my. Okay, thanks!” I replied.

“No problem. You have this week off, so be ready for next week’s shoots, we have a big runway show coming up,” Brad said.

“I will,” I replied.

After talking to Brad and finding out about my pay, I’m just in awe about all of this, that’s good money for me, I can’t wait to do some shopping with the money!

I’m going to head over to John’s office and have lunch with him! I walked inside his office and he was surprised to see me. He had the biggest smile on his face and I handed him his lunch. We ate together and talked for about a half–hour, then I figured I’d leave because I know he was so busy and must get his work done. If I stay around he won’t get anything done!
