Chapter 79
Chapter 79
Vanessa did not know why she felt so upset. She placed the piece of durian on the coffee table and said, “I don’t want to be led by the nose by her. I don’t want her to know…”
She was too embarrassed to finish her sentence. She didn’t want Tracy to know that she had never been a person who valued. money. She was extremely poor and helpless when her father got ill and her brother needed to undergo surgery. Though she needed money badly back then, she still thought that love was the most important.
Although she was not deeply in love with William yet, she had feelings for him, and those feelings included gratitude, appreciation, admiration, and even love.
She wouldn’t let herself be influenced by Tracy.
“What do you not want her to know?” William stared at Vanessa as he asked.
He placed his hand on the sofa behind Vanessa and leaned over, his unfathomable eyes full of affection.
“Nothing.” Vanessa avoided his burning gaze.
“Ugh…
William sealed her lips with his.
After the kiss, he looked at Vanessa with burning eyes. “You don’t want her to know that you’ve never cared about money, right?”
“No. Ugh…”
William kissed Vanessa again.
His eyes were still burned with affection. “You’re strong, independent, and hardworking. You also like money, but you want to have it through hard work. You’re sincere and brave, and you value your family and friends the most. Between money and your beloved, you’ll choose the latter.”
Tears streamed down Vanessa’s face.
They had only known each other for less than two months. Why did he know her so well that he could see through her mind at a single glance?
“Vanessa,” William called out to her.
Vanessa looked at him with tears in her eyes.
William reached out and gently wiped her tears away with his thumb.
He said in a soft voice. “I like you just the way you are, kind and sincere. Perhaps someone will let you down, hurt you, and bully you, but God will make it up to you for what you suffered. Mom. Grandpa, Danny, all of us love you. Your dad will also bless you and protect you in heaven.”
“Yeah,” Vanessa said between sobs.
William reached out to pull her into his arms. He patted her back and said, “If you feel wronged, cry out aloud. My shoulders and arms will always be your harbor.”
“Boohoo…” Vanessa felt even worse after being comforted and cried even more bitterly.
William patted her back like he was coaxing a child.
He said, “I’ll explain it to Yvonne. She’ll understand.”
“Okay.” Vanessa answered, still crying
William patted her back for a long time. When Vanessa finally calmed down, he said, “Go take a shower and rest early. I’ll be with you when you participate in the first match of the Emerald Cup tomorrow.”
Vanessa left William’s embrace and wiped her tears away with the back of her hand. “I can go by myself tomorrow. You go ahead with your work.”
She added, “Don’t let anyone take advantage of the opportunity to cause trouble.”
Although she did not know the details of William’s work, she knew that he was capable and had a lot to do.
Not only did he have to compete with the Hawk Group’s business rivals, but he also had to deal with Barron and Tracy who tried to take the company from him.
During dinner today. Vanessa could tell that the Hawk family’s relatives had formed different cliques and were fighting with each other openly or secretly.
William smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of the company business. Go take a shower.”

With that, he patted her bottom.
Vanessa blushed instantly.
She hurried into the bathroom.
It was her first time here.
She was in such haste that she realized she did not bring clean clothes with her after she closed the door.
William’s voice sounded outside, “The pink towel is yours. It’s brand new. The pajamas on the shelf are also for you. They’re
all new.”
“Alright, thank you.” Vanessa raised her voice slightly.
Her cheeks were still burning.
She covered her face with her hands and turned on the shower.
After she finished showering and walked out of the bathroom, she didn’t see William in the bedroom. She guessed that he must have gone to the guest room to take a shower because he often did so.
As she expected, just as she lifted a corner of the blanket and was about to sleep, William entered the bedroom in a bathrobe.
He tied the belt of the bathrobe loosely, looking uninhibited and sexy.
Vanessa quickly slipped under the blanket.
William smiled when he saw how shy she was.
He walked over, took off his bathrobe, lifted the blanket, and lay down, hugging Vanessa from behind.
Vanessa knew what was going to happen next.
Though they were husband and wife and had intimacy many times, she was still quite nervous.
William leaned over and said. “Tracy lied to you.”
“What?” Vanessa was surprised.
William continued, “They hacked into my computer and stole my file. The password to that file is our wedding anniversary.”
Vanessa’s body stiffened.
A strange feeling was spreading in her heart.
She couldn’t find a word to describe it, but it was beautiful.
It was as if the haze cleared away, and the sun shone on the crystal dew, shining brightly.
William continued, “After we got married, I set all my passwords to be our anniversary. But we have to change it in the future to prevent others from using it. What password do you think is better?”
Vanessa turned around and looked at him.
She was filled with gratitude when she saw the tenderness in William’s eyes.
They looked at each other, and their gazes gradually became unfathomable.
William swallowed hard and said in a slightly hoarse voice, “Don’t look at me like that. I may not be able to control myself.”
Vanessa quickly lowered her head.
William lifted her chin to make her look into his eyes.
He said, “The password should be meaningful and not easy for outsiders to figure out.”
I–I don’t know.” Vanessa’s heart was racing faster.
“No one will think we’ll use the date of Danny’s surgery as a password. In the future, we’ll use it as the password,” William
said.
Vanessa was grateful to him, but she didn’t know how to express her gratitude.
She owed him so much that she found no words could express how she felt now.
She murmured, “Okay”
William had just said “We“.
That was her favorite word.
It made her feel like she had someone to rely on.
Chapter 79
She wrapped her arms around his waist.
William patted her head and said gently, “Go to sleep. You have to compete tomorrow, so I won’t do anything to you tonight. I’ll give you five minutes. If you can’t fall asleep within five munites, I may lose control of myself.”
“Good night!” Vanessa said before she quickly turned around and closed her eyes.
The corners of William’s lips curled up. He reached out and patted Vanessa’s head, saying. “Good night.”
Actually, it was not only because of Vanessa’s competition tomorrow that he didn’t make out with her but also because his father–in–law had just passed away not long ago. He knew that it dealt Vanessa a heavy blow and she needed more time to rest and adjust her mood so that she could positively face her future life.
Coincidentally, he had an important agreement to sign after Vanessa’s competition tomorrow.
In addition, the development model of the plot in the southern suburb was about to be finalized.
