Chapter 68
Vanessa said. “Willie, go back to your office now.”
“It’s fine. Someone will take care of the company’s matters. I’ll stay with you” William insisted.
Vanessa took the initiative to hold William’s hand and said, “My father’s matter is over. Go back to the company and deal. with your work. I’ll bring Danny back to Lilyville to sleep. I promise that I won’t overthink anything and won’t cry. I’ll be
fine.”
Vanessa and Danny had not slept for three days and three nights.
Halfway through, William asked Keith to prepare some food and persuaded Vanessa and Danny to eat, and they ate some. However, their appetite was affected, and they didn’t eat much.
Charlotte was afraid that Vanessa and Danny could not hold on. Every once in a while, she asked them to drink some
water.
Actually, William was pretty much the same. He had been accompanying Vanessa, thanking the people who came to pay their respects. He had also been with her at Henry’s wake.
Last night, Vanessa had Ben forcefully bring William to the car to sleep for half a night.
She knew that William had urgent work to deal with.
William looked at Vanessa.
Vanessa and William looked at each other. “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine,” said Vanessa with a nod.
Henry was gone and would never come back. Her sadness didn’t help.
She had been kneeling before Henry’s grave when she heard William talking on the phone. Their order had been snatched, and there might have been a mole. Her mind suddenly became abnormally clear.
What was she going to do in the future?
Where would she go from here?

Other than taking good care of Danny, the most important thing for her to do now was to prepare for the Emerald Cup competition.
She came from a poor background and could not help William at all.
All she could do was not embarrass him and drag him down.
She had to take care of her own life and didn’t cause any trouble for him.
She would try her best to take care of his daily life so that he would have no worries and could work more peacefully.
If they needed to attend a banquet, she would accompany him.
“Then I’ll send you back to Lilyville. You eat something and go to sleep. Charlotte, you can stay at home. You all have a good rest. There’s a thank–you banquet tonight. We’ll go together.” William arranged.
“Okay, Vanessa replied. William really took care of the people around her at all times.
The group returned to Lilyville.
William did not go upstairs. He asked Ben to send him back to the company.
Now, Jim was investigating how the base price was leaked.
Vanessa, Charlotte, and Danny each took a shower.
The doorbell rang when they had just thrown their clothes into the washing machine.
Charlotte went to open the door.
A delivery man carried two big bags and said Mr. Hawk had ordered food for his wife.
Charlotte took the food and placed them on the coffee table. Then she took them out one by one.
Henry had suddenly passed away, and Charlotte had rushed over immediately. She had come to attend Henry’s funeral and had not asked Vanessa about William properly.
Regarding William, she had only heard from Vanessa over the phone that they were married on a blind date. William was a nice guy, but he came from such a good family that he made Vanessa feel unreal.
Charlotte had witnessed William’s words and actions in the past three days.
Chapter 68
He was great.
Charlotte felt that Vanessa’s suffering had finally come to an end.
Charlotte curled her lips in relief and shouted, “Silly Doe, let’s eat. I know you don’t have an appetite, but you get to eat and pull yourself together. There’s still a long way to go in the future. We have to reassure Mr. Sanchez. You still have to recuperate and earn money to support your family. Take good care of Danny.”
“Yeah,” Vanessa replied.
Yes. Vanessa had to be well and pull herself together. She still had a long way to go in the future.
Vanessa picked up a fork and handed it to Danny. Then, she gestured to him in sign language. “Danny, let’s eat. We have to perk up. After eating, sleep well. We must live a good life and let Dad be at ease.”
Danny took the fork and picked up a container of the paste. He immediately took two bites, and the tears fell into the food.
He quickly wiped his tears and picked up some food to eat.
William ordered many dishes for them. Everyone’s appetite was poor.
The atmosphere was also rather gloomy.
Charlotte sighed softly.
She
put
down the food container and said, “It’s alright. If you can’t finish it, we can put it aside. We can eat them tomorrow, too. Go and sleep first. Silly Doe, go to sleep quickly.”
“I’ll change the bedsheets and blankets in the guest room,” Vanessa said as she got up.
“Bring it over. I’ll do it.” Charlotte tidied up the food containers on the coffee table.
“I’ll change them.” Vanessa went to the closet to get the bedsheets and blankets.
Only then did she realize that she had decorated the place more and more like a warm home during this period.
It was an apartment with four bedrooms and two living rooms. There were two guest bedrooms and a study room.
Previously, William had told her that when Henry recovered, he and Danny would each have a guest room.
Unexpectedly, Henry had never come to stay here once.
Vanessa held back her tears and went to the guest room.
Charlotte took the bedsheet and blanket over and said, “I’ll do it. You go to bed quickly.”
“Let’s do it together. Vanessa and Charlotte changed the bedsheets together.
“Why don’t you sleep here with me?” Charlotte suggested.
Vanessa did not say anything. She climbed onto the bed and crawled under the covers. She curled up and slept with her head on the pillow.
Charlotte’s heart ached when she saw her like that. She also lifted a corner of the blanket and slept in it. She reached out to pat the blanket on Vanessa and comforted her. “Go to sleep. Sleep well. Mr. Sanchez will always be watching you and Danny from the sky. He will be happy to see you two living well.”
Vanessa tilted her head, tears flowing from the corners of her eyes onto the pillow. She closed her eyes.
She fell asleep quickly, probably because she was so sleepy.
William rushed to the company.
Jim was typing on the computer keyboard in his office.
Hearing footsteps, Jim looked up.
Seeing that it was William, he continued typing on the keyboard.
William did not disturb him. He stood beside Jim and looked at the computer screen.
It was now in system mode, and various codes floated on the screen.
From time to time, Jim would switch the code data.
After the strings of codes, a string of IDs appeared on the screen.
“Mr. Hawk, it’s Ms. Yost’s ID,” Jim said.
Chapter 68
“I didn’t give her my documents,” William said faintly.
Tracy would ask William things about the Hawk Group, and he would tell her when they were still lovers.
He would tell her which projects the Hawk Group would develop, which companies it would work with, which families it
had a good relationship with, and how much profit the industry would probably make.
However, those were only the valuation. It was impossible for Tracy to know his precise base price.
Moreover, he had had no contact with Tracy since he got married.
“It was hacked.” Jim said as he typed another string of codes and got a path.
William looked at the path and narrowed his eyes dangerously.
It was actually hacked from his computer.
He couldn’t help but let out a cold snort.
Tracy was truly impressive for being able to break through his firewall.
Moreover, all his files had passwords other than the firewall.
Jim said. “She might have guessed the document’s password.”
“Yeah,” William replied.
The password to the document was his wedding anniversary, so it wasn’t hard to guess.
Because of the relatively strong firewall, he set the file passwords relatively simple.
It was indeed easy for people who knew him well to guess.
“Mr. Hawk, what should we do?” Jim asked.
