Chapter 62
Chapter 62
William and the others went out for lunch to celebrate.
Danny put food in Ben’s bowl and then William’s. He signed his thanks.
“No need to thank me. Eat, Danny. Ben signed as he picked up some food for Danny
Danny was intelligent. Ben felt he could return to his job within six months at most.
He waited for an opportunity to say simple words to Danny. “No need to thank me. Pick, food, fork, bowl.”
Ben spoke every word slowly and was signing at the same time. He told Danny what each item was called.
Language training was difficult for people like Danny, who was pre–lingual deaf.
Because Danny hadn’t heard a peep from the outside world for fifteen years.
He was used to a silent world and not to speak.
Now Danny had implanted his cochlear implants, he could hear the sounds outside, but they were like the bird talking to
him.
He had no way of knowing what everyone was talking about. He would feel anxious, inferior, and even autistic.
Danny would adapt faster if the people around him knew sign language, explained to him patiently, and encouraged him
more.
Ben had been encouraging Danny.
Ben also carried all kinds of electronic animals to the empty lawn when he was doing language training with Danny.
The broadening of vision could also broaden one’s mood.
Therefore, Ben spent more than an hour asking Danny to listen repeatedly to the sounds of various animals. He also kept letting Danny see the shapes of his mouth and encouraged Danny to speak bravely. Danny learned to call Dad and Sister.
“Come on. Let’s eat. There’s no hurry. Let’s enjoy the food and life. Everything will get better and better.” Ben encouraged Danny with sign language.
Danny immediately nodded at Ben to thank him.
“You should eat more, too.” Vanessa picked up some food for William.
“What should I do if I eat much food and gain weight?” William was all smiles.
Vanessa was amused by William and said. “Even if you’re fat, you’re still the most handsome fatty.”
“You’re complimenting me?” William looked at Vanessa with a smile. Then, he took the shrimp and peeled it naturally.
“I was just praising you.” Vanessa smiled.
Vanessa felt so relaxed after setting off the fireworks last night.
She was even happier to see Danny being so great today.
She was also grateful.
Vanessa was grateful to William for being in her life during her most difficult time.
William placed the peeled shrimp into Vanessa’s bowl.
Vanessa picked it up, dipped it in the sauce, and put it in William’s bowl. “You eat, too.”
Ben was speechless.
Their love–showing was delicious and bloated.
Danny was a foodie and ate with relish.
After the delicious meal, Danny felt much more relaxed.
William asked the waiter to prepare the apples. They planned to walk back to the hospital to digest their food.
William’s phone suddenly rang.
The call was from Keith. “William, something happened. Hurry back to the hospital.”
William’s expression changed slightly. He held Vanessa’s hand and said, “Let’s return to the hospital. Ben, bring Danny quickly.”
His first reaction was that Henry might not make it. They had to hurry over and send him off.
Chapter 62
Seeing William’s face change and taking her to the hospital, Vanessa panicked. She quickly ran away. Her voice trembled as she asked, “What’s wrong with Dad?”
Thinking of a possibility, Vanessa ran as fast as she could.
At the hospital.
Keith chatted with Henry and told him about Danny’s situation after Henry drank his traditional medicine.
Keith was picking up good words and talking about the ideal state.
He told Henry that Danny would be able to be like an ordinary person in half a year.
Henry’s eyes were filled with hope.
After chatting for a while, the nurse brought lunch for Henry from the canteen.
Keith smiled and told Henry to eat. He also needed to go to eat.
Henry felt the meal today was particularly delicious.
He really felt that he was getting better. His heart was filled with hope.
The nurse scooped soup for Henry, and Henry drank half a bowl in one go.
In the hospital corridor, a woman held a bouquet of carnations with the fruits in her hand. She asked the nurse, “Hello, may
I ask which ward Henry Sanchez is in? I’m his friend. I’m here to see him.”
The nurse immediately pointed at Henry’s ward.
After thanking the nurse politely, Shannie Lenard walked over with flowers and fruits and knocked on the door of Henry’s ward.
She immediately saw Henry.
Although they had not seen each other for over a decade and Henry was suffering from the disease to the point of being unrecognizable, Shannie still recognized Henry at a glance.
She was all smiles as she gently called out, “Henry,”
Henry looked up.
He did not recognize Shannie at first glance. “You are?” asked Henry.
He suddenly saw her clearly, and the anger in his heart surged. He stood up and roared, “Get out! Get out immediately!”
What right did Shannie have to appear in his ward?
Henry had nothing to say when Shannie left him.
Humans would weigh the pros and cons. They all wanted a better life.
His abilities were limited, and he could not keep Shannie. Henry resigned himself to his fate.
However, Shannie took away the house money for their son’s treatment..
Was Shannie also considered a human?
She had ruined everything for Danny!
Danny was only two years old at that time.
If Danny had had the cochlear implants, Danny would soon be able to grow up as healthy and happy as an ordinary child.
Danny wouldn’t be discriminated against. He wouldn’t have to go to the special school. He wouldn’t have an inferiority complex, wouldn’t be sensitive, and wouldn’t live cautiously.
‘Henry, don’t be mad. I didn’t know you were hospitalized, so I didn’t come to see you until now.” Shannie avoided the main point.
Henry became even angrier.
Was it about to come to see him? Huh?
“Get lost. Get lost immediately. I don’t want to see you for the rest of my life. You’re not worthy!” Henry was so mad that his heart was heaving.
He could no longer stand steadily after shouting those words.
The nurse instantly supported him and told Shannie, “Madam, the patient is agitated. Please leave.”
Shannie was unhappy. She raised her chin and said, “We’re a couple. We’ll reconcile quickly if there’s any small conflict between husband and wife. Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of him.”
Chapter 62
Upon hearing that they were husband and wife, the nurse was shocked and could not drive Shannie away. So she could only persuade Shannie nicely. “Madam, please don’t agitate the patient.”
“Don’t worry. I won’t agitate him. I also hope that he can recover soon.” Shannie put the flowers on the counter.
She put the fruits away again as if she had not left for more than ten years and had not taken away Danny’s life–saving money. “Henry, do you want to eat a banana or a mango?” Shannic asked Henry with a smile.
Shannie also saw the news of Vanessa and William’s wedding next month.
Seeing that the bride’s surname was Sanchez, Shannie looked at it and remembered that the daughter Henry had picked up back then was called Vanessa Sanchez.
She looked more closely at the photo of Vanessa.
Although Vanessa had changed a lot from when she was little, Shannie could still see that her facial features were slightly.
similar.
After all, Vanessa was already 11 years old when Shannie left.
Afraid of making a mistake, Shannie especially read many comments.
