Chapter 1365 All The Way To Newcove
Morgan turned around and was met with her annoyed face, animated and adorable.
"I did," he said.
"What do you think?" Josie asked, leaning in closer.
"It's nothing special."
Josie was at a loss for words.
Noticing her stiffened expression, Morgan chuckled. "That scene just now brought me back. I thought I saw you back in our college days. It's like I time traveled."
"I didn't come here to talk about the old days with you."
"I'm just joking. It's a good plan. I can tell it's from you."
It's not entirely from me. Josie murmured inwardly, fiddling with her fingers.
"What are you doing in Newcove?" she asked.
Morgan became nonchalant again, resting his hand on the handle. "Autumn's here. I've heard that it's beautiful in Newcove during autumn, so I thought I'd come and see it for myself." "Just a few days ago, you were raving about how incredibly pretty it was in Wavery during autumn.”
Having been exposed, Morgan didn't get upset. Instead, his smile grew wider. "I'm here to hang out with a few friends. Why don't you join us?" he suggested. Morgan's friends, huh?
Josie had seen his friends before. They were all just as laid-back as he was, and she surmised they probably hadn't changed one bit after all these years.
She wasn't really interested, "Once the plane lands, I'll book my return flight. Enjoy your trip."
"Fine. Then let's consider our collaboration null and void," Morgan said with a devil-may-care attitude.
He sounded like he was saying, "Hmm, the weather's getting cold. Let's make the Witherspoon family go bankrupt."
Josie panicked, knowing Morgan was fully capable of doing such a thing.
"What exactly do you want?"
"I must say, I prefer the respectful way you behaved just now when presenting your plan," he said.
Josie realized he was deliberately making things difficult for her.
The plane circled in the sky a few times before finally landing smoothly As it glided along the runway, Morgan noticed her displeased expression and patted her head. "Let's go. If you want to head back, go on. Our collaboration Will carry on as usual."
He meant he was just joking earlier.
Josie frowned, and when she looked up, Morgan had already risen from his seat and disembarked from the plane. He courteously stepped aside for the other passengers, his silhouette receding into the distance.
Almost as if driven by some unseen force, Josie chose to trail behind him.
Like a tiny hamster, she followed closely by his side. "I should keep an eye on you since you're so unpredictable."
Morgan broke into a smile.
Newcove was much colder than Wavery. As soon as they stepped out of the airport, Josie tightened her collar. Standing by the roadside, they waited for their ride to arrive.
"I didn't expect you to follow me. Only the eighteen-year-old Josie would do something like this. How much did the Olsen family provide you? Will I be able to give you what they gave you?" Morgan casually looked up at the sky as he spoke.
"Not everything can be measured by money."
Her serious demeanor amused Morgan, and he leaned in all of a sudden, pinched her cheek, and said, "You didn't seem to mind when I measured it with love."
He's right. Amused and slightly annoyed, Josie chuckled and avoided his touch.
Meanwhile, in Wavery, Dexter was
greeted by Larry as soon as he emerged from the government building, Draping the coat he was holding onto Dexter's shoulders Larry asked, "How'd it go? I hope they didn't give you a hard time."
Dexter settled into the car. "Higher-ups are planning an inspection. For the foreseeable future, everyone will be walking on eggshells. We still have a long battle ahead." Larry frowned. "They shouldn't take their anger out on just us... What about the Olsen family?"
When the Olsen family was mentioned, Dexter glanced at Larry. "Where's Josie?"
Larry was just about to mention that. Struggling to find the words, he lowered his head and explained sheepishly, "I just received news that she followed Morgan to Newcove." At that moment, Dexter's face fell.
