Blind date turned proposal (Josie and Dexter)

Chapter 1320 Questioning Dexter

Claudia gazed at Josie for a long time unmovingly.

Silence remained in the car for a long time. Outside, Larry and Caleb exchanged glances, both harboring an uneasy premonition. In a low voice, Scott suggested, "Should we go in and check?"

At that moment, Claudia had regained her composure. She spoke softly, "Josie, if you wish to keep your current surname, don't push me."

In the end, she's still threatening me. Josie clenched her fists, her eyes bloodshot. "Are you really pushing me to this extent? I'm not the only descendant of the Olsen family. There's also Nathan and Summer!"

Claudia's expression shifted immediately. Her voice softened, yet held a firm conviction. "You know none of them carry the bloodline of the Olsen family. However, you, without a doubt, and your child, must carry the Olsen surname."

Josie frowned, a sense of suffocating threat hanging heavily over her.

Claudia cast her a profound gaze before rising to leave. Just before she stepped out of the car, she left with a final remark, "I didn't want my first meeting with this child to leave such a poor impression. You should have informed us earlier."

The car door closed, leaving behind a blanket of silence.

Larry tentatively knocked on the car door, "Ms.-"

Suddenly, the sound of something shattering echoed from within, causing him to flinch.

At that moment, inside Russell Mansion's lounge, the wooden floor basked in the sunlight, reflecting a warm glow on the man's noble profile, making it appear overly cozy.

However, the words that slipped from his lips were exceptionally cold. "Understood."

No sooner had he finished speaking than there was a knock at the door. The attendant outside called out, "Mr. Russell, Mrs. Olsen wishes to see you. What do you think..."

Ordinarily, if an average person wished to meet Dexter, the attendant could easily turn them away. However, the attendant couldn't dismiss someone as important as the lady of the Olsen family. "Let her in," ordered Dexter.

"Understood," replied the attendant.

Before entering the lounge, Claudia took measured strides, first laying eyes on a woman who, despite her dignified demeanor, was visibly upset. The woman was sitting next to the graphite, meticulously selecting tea leaves, her teeth gritted in frustration.

Claudia furrowed her brows.

As a waft of fragrant tea aroma filled the air, there was also Dexter's soft, faint voice. "Mrs. Olsen."

He stood at the front of the bar, brewing a pot of tea. Just as Claudia approached him, a cup of tea was perfectly ready.

The subtle aura only highlighted the woman's serene nature in front of him.

"The honeysuckle flower tea, freshly harvested from the mountain, is known for its refreshing qualities and its ability to cool down and extinguish internal heat. Care to try some?" Dexter's gaze was serene, much like the tea before him.

Claudia didn't even spare him a glance, her voice grave as she demanded, "Dexter, don't you think you owe me an explanation?"

"What's there to explain?"

"Your child."

"Her name is Grape."

"Why didn't you tell us?" Claudia asked, holding back her anger.

Initially, the Olsen family learned of Josie's whereabouts through Dexter, including everything that had transpired during her two-year disappearance. However, he did not divulge a single detail regarding the most crucial information.

Thus, Claudia thought he was scheming.

"It was Josie's wish," answered Dexter.

"So, you've tacitly agreed to let the child carry the Warren surname then?" questioned Claudia.

Dexter picked up the cup, bringing it to his nose for a brief sniff. In a soft voice, he said, "Mrs. Olsen, what you did today was wrong. At the very least, you shouldn't have rushed in front of her to scold her." Before Claudia arrived at Russell Mansion, Larry had already called Dexter and divulged everything.

Every time Dexter thought of Josie being wronged, a hint of darkness would deepen in his eyes.

"What should I do then? Should I just allow her to give her daughter the surname Warren? Dexter, you're certainly magnanimous, but Josie is our Olsen family's daughter. You've no right to use the child as a tool to curry favor with her!" spat Claudia.
