Chapter 19
Nox
I could smell her arousal as she quickly exits the academia building. I had told the twins that I was going to hang out by the entrance and wait for Blaise. Said I had a question for her about our study of humans’ class. More than anything I just needed to know she was safe, so I thought I’d escort her back to the dorms. I could tell she wasn’t expecting to see anyone by the way her feet faltered as she walked when she spotted me. Her cheeks instantly flame red to match the color of her hair. A Cheshire-cat-like grin spreads across my face as my eyes lock with hers. “N-N-Nox? What are you doing here,” she stutters out.
Advancing close enough that I’m able to bend my head down a bit and whisper in her ear I say, “I was waiting to see if I could escort you back to your room.” Placing my nose against her neck just below her ear lobe I inhale slowly before adding; “but it seems you were well taken care of already...” Breathing out slowly I watch satisfied that I was able to cause goosebumps to appear on her soft ivory skin.
Blaise latches a hand onto my leather jacket and looks at me pleadingly. “Please. Please don’t say anything to anyone. I didn’t mean for it to happen. I had gone back to ask if he wouldn’t put me and Morgan in a group together. And then the next thing I knew I was kissing him. It’s like a magnetic pull. I was attracted to him the first time I saw him and then I just couldn’t fight the urge any longer...”
Quirking an eyebrow, I stare at her intrigued. She had just described exactly how I felt towards her. I can’t seem to keep or stay away from her. “Can I kiss you?” Surprise flashes in her eyes but she nods her head yes. She closes her eyes as I do mine and then I bring her soft sensual lips to my own. As soon as our lips touch, I feel like I’ve been zapped by an electrical wire or something to that effect.
Blaise sucks in a breath and I know immediately she feels the same thing. She takes a step back. “Okay, I don’t know what that was but it’s completely different from what I felt when Gavin kissed me.” I can hear the shock in her voice as she says this. She gazes at me in wonder, and I can’t help but smirk to know her experience with me is different than with the professor.
Taking her hand in mine, I suggest we make our way back to building H and our dorm rooms. She nods and adjusts her hold on my hand to link our fingers together and I smile at the movement.

Blaise
I had fallen asleep before Clover returned for the night and though I didn’t have to wake up early today I wanted to have a chance to chat with her before she went to her classes. Walking to the bathroom I take a quick shower and then throw on a pair of jean shorts and a simple white cotton tee-shirt. My first class doesn’t start until nine and is in the greenhouse so I wanted to wear something that I wouldn’t care about if I got it dirty.
Sitting on my bed I put on a pair of converse and look to Clover’s side of the room to see her moving as she wakes up. “Hey,” she says sleepily. “What time’s your first class today?”
“I’ve got Plants and their multiple uses in the greenhouse at nine.” As I say this Clover’s face lights up.
“Me too!” she squeals excitedly.
“Oh my stars! Really?” My eyes light up in happiness at this knowledge. “Good than we can chat without worrying about the time,” I add, and Clover tilts her head curiously.
“Alright girlfriend, spill,” Clover says as she sits up in her bed and crosses her legs.
“I kissed Nox last night!” I yearn to tell her about Gavin too, but I don’t know her well enough to know if she’d keep such an important secret. I mean we’re only on day four of being at the academy after all.
Her eyes widen in surprise or shock, I’m not sure which and I guess it doesn’t really matter. “Wait, I thought you were going on a date with Carden tomorrow night? And didn’t I catch you kissing Braden?”
My cheeks go red, and I duck my head. “I didn’t kiss Braeden; we nearly kissed. And yeah, I’ve got a date with Carden, but I’m also drawn to Nox. I’m telling you all this because I want your advice.”
“Ah- well, I know in the human world its only socially acceptable to have one partner but in our world where we believe in soul mates, fated mates, soul bonds, and twin flames it is not out of the norm for a being to have more than one partner.” My heart thuds hard against my rib cage to hear this and I smile through the blush that doesn’t seem to want to fade from my face. With my mind put to ease I’m able to turn my thoughts to Clover
“Oh, hey, Clove, how’s things going with your Italian shifter.” A stupid grin automatically appears on her face at this question.
“We’ve been flirting back and forth in the couple of classes we have together. He asked if I was going to be at the party tomorrow night and when I said that I would be he asked if we could meet up!”
“No! That’s awesome!” I exclaim as she climbs out of her bed. I watch as she crosses the room to the bathroom.
“I’m gonna take a shower. You gonna be here when I get out?” Nodding my head that I would be she goes in and turns on the shower.
We walk into the greenhouse giggling along the way as we share fantasies of the men in our lives and what we’d like to explore with them. “Good morning, ladies. If you’ll grab one of those stools I’ll begin class shortly,” Professor Seedling says as she nods towards some metal stools to the left of her. We oblige her and hurry to a couple of the vacant stools. As we settle on the cushioned seats, we see Carden stroll in carrying two trays stacked one on top of the other that have small flowerpots on them.
“Ah Mr. Callaghan, you made it. If you would please distribute the pots, we will begin today’s lesson.” By the time Carden gets to me my pulse is racing. He hands me a pot and our fingers brush against each other. A shiver runs up my spine as a tingling sensation washes over me. My eyes go wide as I glance at him to see if he felt it too. His eyes are just as wide which could only mean he had. My mind is a whirlwind of thoughts because the same thing had happened between me and Braeden.
Carden clears his throat and then continues handing out the little reddish-brown containers. Realizing I had been holding my breath I expel the air that had been trapped in my lungs just as Clover elbows my side giving me a sheepish grin at the same time.
Blushing because that is apparently the only thing my body knows how to do; I turn my attention to the professor and do my best to focus solely on her. “Alright, the pots before you have one little seed buried within the dirt. A few of you have an affinity for earth’s elements and may use it to help your seed grow. Those who are unsure if they have this power, I will demonstrate how to call it to you. For the rest who do not have this natural talent, you will have the privilege of letting Mother Nature take control of the seed and let it grow slowly as it was designed to do. So, for some of you this will be a term long project and for others you’ll have a different project involving these seeds.”
Professor continues on but I’m suddenly distracted. I can feel someone watching me. Looking around the room I see Carden standing at the back of it staring at me as though in a trance. When he realizes I’ve caught him gazing at me he smiles, and I see desire flash in his eyes causing me to squeeze my thighs together in response.
“Girl, you got it bad!” Clover leans over and whispers in my ear.
“You’ve no idea,” I whisper back with a shit eating grin spreading across my face.
