Black Rose: Revenge Of The Callous Heiress

Chapter 16

After closing the door behind her, the smile on Rose's face disappeared instantly and a dark expression was replaced on her face. In this life, she will never give them the satisfaction that they had before. She will avoid them like a plague and live this life to the fullest. She

will enjoy her youth and will get everything that belongs to her.

She chuckled at the thought of the future. Since her rebirth, she has always wondered what her future would hold if she avoided all of those people.

Just at that same moment, someone knocked on Rose's room door making her let out a sigh before opening the door.

"Young miss, I apologize for disturbing you but the Headmaid asked me to inform you that dinner would soon be ready and you should be prepared to come down to the dining hall." A maidservant bowed her head and informed Rose.

"I understand. But tell her that I would like to have dinner brought up in my room. I don't think I have the strength to come downstairs to eat."

"Yes ma. I will deliver the message to her." The maid servant bowed her head and walked away.

After the maid left, Rose closed the door and made sure she locked it. She doesn't want anyone to disturb her peace again.

*************

Another sound of shattered glasses can be heard. Beatrice was panting. Curses flying everywhere. She reeked of whiskey and resentment. She wanted to vent her anger. She wanted to hurt someone! "AHHHHHH!!!" Another shout can be heard followed by a string of curses.

"HOW DARE SHE!? How dare she disrespect me like that? I have never been spoken to like that before in my life and a stupid brat thinks she can do something like that to me and act like everything is normal!!!" "Madam, please calm down. I'm sure the young miss is like that because she has not gotten close to you!" Mary, who was present in the room as well, spoke hoping that it would calm the angered Beatrice down.

"You're right, Mary. But that brat seems to hold a grudge against me. She acts like she doesn't but the way she acts and behaves shakes me off somehow." Beatrice thought back to the dangerous glare Rose gave her when she first walked into the room.

"There is no way the young miss would have something against you. And even if she did, it would be the normal attitude a stepchild would show to a stepmother who they don't know. All you just have to do is try and make her believe that you're nice and she would eventually open up to you. She is just a simple child." Mary spoke as she bent down to start picking up the broken glass on the floor.

"You've made another valuable point Mary. I will just have to be nice enough to draw her attention to me." Beatrice nodded her head, agreeing to what Mary said.

......

When it was dinner time, Paige was the one who took Rose dinner personally to her room.

"I've brought your dinner, Young Miss." Paige said as she placed the tray on the table. "I got you some drugs to use as well. The maid told me that you mentioned something about you being tired to come downstairs." She added before turning to look at Rose who was now sitting on the bed with a book in her hand.

"Thank you, aunt. And from now on, I would love to have all my meals brought to my room." Rose said, her gaze still glued on what she was reading.

"If that is all you want, I will take my leave. And make sure you use the drugs I brought for you, they will help you get a better sleep." Paige said before walking out of the room.

Rose glanced at the closed door after Paige with narrowed eyes. "I was right, Aunty Paige is still the only person that is trustworthy in this house. That makes her one of the people I should try to protect." She mumbled under her breath before standing up from the bed to the place Paige had dropped the tray of food.

The first thing she did was open the drug bottle and throw a few pills into her mouth before picking up the glass of water and drank it.

After she was done eating, Rose went to the bathroom to rinse her face before walking back to the bed and lay down to sleep.

***********

A week later.

It had been a week since Rose had arrived back at the Gray mansion, however, she had not stepped a foot out of her bedroom. She only allowed the maid or Paige into her room whenever they brought her meal.

Not even when Beatrice tried to see her, she wouldn't open the door and just stayed locked in her room for the past seven days.

Rose's daily routine was none other than sitting on the veranda reading books and staring at the beautiful garden. The only thing she liked about this mansion was the fact that her room was close to the garden and the refreshing smell of flowers was the first that greeted her in the morning anytime she steps out to the veranda.

She had been trying her best to avoid seeing anybody because she didn't want to get into some dramatic discussion because she wasn't sure if she could hold back her anger. She had spent seven days locked in her room to prepare herself for these people, most especially when she saw her father. So far she had been doing a pretty good job at avoiding drama, however, she was unaware of what was waiting for her today.

Rose, who had woken up in her room, was still sitting down on her bed. She was too lazy to get up from the bed and take a bath, so she just lazily continued lying down on the bed while playing a game on her cellphone.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door, thinking that it was Paige or one of the maids that normally come to clean the room, she answered and gave her permission. The door was pushed open and instead of being a Paige or a maid that Rose was expecting to enter, an extraordinarily good looking face showed up. It was none other than Sophia.
