Chapter 93

Rebecca clung to the bathroom sink, her stomach churning as the news of Alicia’s pregnancy sank in. She had thought she was prepared for anything, but this news blindsided her. Sean rushed in, concern etched on his face.

“Becky, what’s wrong?” he asked, gently rubbing her back.

She rinsed her mouth and straightened up, taking a deep breath. “Alicia, um, she’s pregnant.”

Sean’s eyes widened. “What? How do you

know?”

“Cassie just told me,” Rebecca replied, her voice trembling. “She saw it on the news.” Sean looked stunned. “What do you want to do about it?” he asked.

Rebecca took a deep breath. “I don’t know.” She shook her head. She felt ached as if someone just hit her on the chest. This is unfair to Lily, but I couldn’t do anything about it. My daughter has every right to know his biological father. Why are they so cruel to us? I hate them to the bone…”

Sean took a deep breath. “Victoria, she must be the director behind all this. Didn’t you once say that Harvey’s grandfather’s inheritance could only be passed down to Harvey and his descendants? So Victoria worked with Alicia to get it,” he babbled.

“Isn’t that stupid? Inviting a psychopath like Alicia into a coalition? I mean, in the end Alicia could just take everything out of Victoria’s hands,” Rebecca muttered as she poured water and drank it until it was empty.

Sean snorted, “You’re not pretending to be blind, are you, Becky? Alicia has an obsession with Harvey despite her collaboration with Victoria, money is not her main goal at all. She always wanted to be Harvey’s wife, at least that’s what I think,” he said, shrugging his shoulders.

Rebecca gulped, “Still, it’s not fair for Lily. She will feel sad when she knows that her father’s family get rid of her just because she is my daughter. She will look into Alica’s child with envy and it will break her mind.”

“Not if we shower her with affection,” said Sean casually.

Rebecca covered her face. “I don’t know. What should I do?” she cried, hating herself for being helpless.

Just call him and tell him how you feel and ask him whether he will choose you and Lily if you want to go back to him or not, if his answer is still no, then you have to stop being a stupid woman. Simple.”

Sean placed his hand on Rebecca’s shoulder, squeezing gently. “You did the right thing, Becky. It’s time to move forward.”

Rebecca nodded, but the tears in her eyes betrayed her. “I know, but it hurts. I thought maybe, just maybe, things could go back to the way they were.”

Sean pulled her into a hug, holding her tightly. “You have me, and you have Lily. We’ll get through this together.”
