Chapter BIT 88

Chapter 88

“What are you doing here?” Rebecca whispered, pulling the covers up, afraid Harvey

do something to her.

“Can’t you see it in my face without me having to speak, Becky? How I miss you, miss. everything about us, our babies, our laughter, and-” Harvey’s voice was choked. He pulled Rebecca’s blanket until she was completely uncovered. “Your body, I miss your skin on mine…

Rebecca was breathing hard. “Don’t you dare put your hands on me! You traitor! You left me without a message or even a goodbye! You call yourself a husband? You call yourself a father?

Harvey sobbed, “I promise there’s a reason behind it all, but I can’t explain it now,” he said, then his hand rose to caress Rebecca’s cheek, down to her neck and her belly.

Rebecca held her breath; she could feel Harvey’s hands on the most sensitive parts of her body. She moaned loudly, how much she missed all those touches. “Get inside me, Harvey. I’ve missed you so badly!”

She pulled Harvey so that he was bent over her, and then they made love wildly to vent their longing. When she almost reached her peak, Lily cried out loud. She opened her eyes with a gasp, looked around her, and only then realized that it was all just a dream.

Half confused, she stood up and dragged her feet toward Lily’s crib, then lifted her into her arms.

“Hey baby, I just met your dad,” she whispered, still not believing that it was all just a dream.

She put Lily back in the crib, made milk quickly, then lapped her and fed her.

She looked all over the room as if Harvey might be hiding in any corner. “Why does everything feel so real? Does he miss me too? Why does he always come back when I decide to throw all his memories in the trash? Why?”

After Lily finished feeding from her bottle, she stood her up and patted her back gently until she burped loudly. “Good job, Lils, now let’s go back to sleep,” said Rebecca as she moved Lily back into her crib.

She returned to bed, sitting cross–legged restlessly. She couldn’t lie, she really missed

Harvey’s touch more than anything.

“Please come back, she whispered, hoping Harvey would come back into her sleep. She closed her eyes tightly, trying hard to go back to sleep, and when she did, Harvey never came again.

Rebecca woke up the next morning feeling disappointed, but she didn’t know who she should blame the situation on because what happened to her was really just a dream.

After taking care of Lily, as usual, she picked her up and took her to the living room.

“Scan?”

No answer. She frowned, confused because usually Sean would already be there. Either drinking coffee or making breakfast. “Sean? Are you in there?” she shouted, knocking on Sean’s door several times and hearing no answer.

When Rebecca was about to open the door handle to Sean’s room, suddenly a voice came from behind her.

“Becky? What are you doing?”

She turned and found Scan standing with a surprised face, maybe he thought Rebecca would come into his room without permission.

“Sorry, I looked for you everywhere but you didn’t answer, so I was afraid something had happened to you, Rebecca said honestly.

Sean grimaced. “Sorry, I just came back from the hotel where my lawyer was staying. All done,” he said while showing a large white envelope in his hand.

“What is that?” Rebecca asked, walking closer to Sean.

“Sit down,” said Sean, inviting Rebecca to sit on the sofa while he was busy opening the envelope.

“Congratulations, Lily, you’ve got your new name!” Sean exclaimed with a happy face.

Rebecca felt a strange wave in her chest as if something had been taken away from her. Without the name ‘Specter behind Lily’s name, that meant things were really over between her and Harvey.

But she smiled, appreciating Sean’s efforts. “Great! Is that a passport?” she asked in

surprise.

Sean nodded. “My lawyer helped me take care of everything, so we can fly to Italy tonight!” he exclaimed excitedly.

Rebecca smiled broadly. The idea that they would be on vacation far away from there made her have hope in their fake marriage.

And finally, everything went smoothly. After chaos after chaos, Rebecca was grateful that night she was on a first–class flight with Lily and Sean to Italy.

“Try this, it’s good,” said Sean as he held out a small plate containing three mini cakes that he took from the bar.

“Thanks, anyway, you’re right, this honeymoon idea isn’t bad at all, even your mother is crying happily, I feel guilty for giving her false hope,” Rebecca muttered as she stuffed the cake with orange topping into her mouth.

“Don’t feel guilty, besides, even if this marriage is real, that doesn’t mean we can’t possibly get a divorce someday, right? So just relax and enjoy every second of it. Just pretend you’re on holiday with a friend,” said Sean casually.

As time went on, their conversation became more enjoyable after they left the topic of the bitterness of their lives behind.

“Okay, let’s get some rest! We’ll eat a lot in Italy later!” said Sean cheerfully.

“Okay, good night!” said Rebecca as she pressed the button to close her seat, but suddenly she heard a very familiar voice a voice that always made her flutter every time she heard it.

“Stop talking, I’m going to sleep!” snapped the familiar voice.

She tried to peek forward, but couldn’t see anything.

“Harvey! You’re so annoying! I still wanna chat with you! It’s a honeymoon, okay? Don’t-

test me!”

Rebecca’s stomach felt like it was doing somersaults. It turned out to be true, Harvey was there with Alicia, on the same plane as them. What should she do?
