Scan turned to look at Rebecca and Cathy alternately. “Do you know each other?” he asked casually, but the awkward expressions on Rebecca and Cathy’s faces made him frown in confusion.

“Yeah. This is my friend, Cathy,” said Rebecca forcing a smile.

“Sorry, I have to board now. My sister and my mom are already waiting inside. Bye.”

Cathy hurriedly left, with Rebecca staring at her back without blinking. Sean frowned, “Is everything okay? Is there something I should know?” he asked curiously.

Rebecca took a deep breath, her chest feeling tight because Cathy had finally become a stranger to her. “Nothing, is that our car?”

Sean turned towards the black SUV that stopped in front of them and matched the license plate number with the one in his email. “Yeah, let’s get in.”

During the drive to Manhattan, Rebecca was busy controlling herself to not cry over her friendship with Cathy. She took deep breaths, exhaling repeatedly, catching Sean’s attention as he sat in the front seat next to the driver. “Becky, do you have a problem. with Cathy? Why did she act like that towards you?” he asked, turning to look back.

Rebecca cleared her throat. She knew there was no use in hiding anything from Sean, as eventually, they would share everything after they got married, even if it was just a marriage on paper.

“We used to be good friends, but Cathy decided not to see me anymore after Victoria threatened her, and I respect her decision. Her attitude towards me is not her fault, it’s all on me,” said Rebecca calmly, no longer involving emotions.

Sean nodded.

“From now on, everything will be different. I promise I won’t lose anything again,” he said firmly, and his tone instantly made Rebecca feel protected.

Nearly an hour later, they finally arrived in front of the condo that would be their temporary home. Rebecca was grateful that the condo was quite far from the apartment that used to be her home with Harvey.

“And this must be your wife!” the woman said extending her hand to Rebecca after shaking hands with Sean. Rebecca smiled slightly but her face turned blank when she realized that the woman from the agency recognized her face. “Oh my God! Aren’t you Becky–Blushoff? I mean, Rebecca Specter? Oh, I mean Rebecca Harper? Oh, stupid me, I mean-

“I am.” Rebecca interrupted, half–shouting.

“Of course you are. I’ll keep it a secret, I promise,” the woman said, smiling awkwardly at Sean and Rebecca as if they were an illicit couple.

Sean just snorted and said nothing. After handing over the keys with the woman from the real estate agency, they entered the three–bedroom condo. Its cozy interior immediately made Rebecca feel it would be a suitable place for them.

“This is very kid–friendly, I mean, look at the rubber covering all the sharp corners,” Rebecca said, pointing to the corner of the decorative table covered in rubber.

“I asked them to install it on all the corners and make the house child–friendly. Lily might not be able to do much right now but in a few months, you’ll be surprised at how quickly she grows. My girl will be amazing,” Sean murmured, looking down at Lily who was sleeping soundly in her stroller.

Rebecca was very touched by Sean’s words. She didn’t expect Sean to care so much about Lily and prepare everything so well, even down to the smallest detail.

“So, should we choose the room?” Rebooka suggested cheerfully, trying to manipulate. her brain to drive out all the sadness and anxiety from her mind.

“No need, I already picked them out for you. The biggest room will be yours because. you’ll have a lot of clothes. Lily’s room will be next to yours, and my room will be in the far corner,” Sean said, pointing to where the rooms were.

Rebecca was astonished. “When did you prepare all this? Didn’t we just plan this trip yesterday afternoon?”

Sean shrugged, “Money can take care of everything. All I had to do was hire someone. I’m hungry, should we have lunch out or do you want me to order delivery?”

Rebecca stared at Sean for a few seconds, really amazed because Sean was so reliable. “Let’s have lunch out!” she exclaimed finally.

Sean looked up it surprise, “Are you sure?”

“Yeah, I know Lily and I are safe in your hands. Rebecca nodded, convincing herself.

Sean smiled, his smile very genuine as if he was smiling from his heart. They chose an Italian restaurant that was just a few blocks from where they lived.

“It’s so crowded in here, Rebecca murmured, surprised at the number of visitors there. “That means the food here is delicious. I’ll find the most comfortable table so Lily isn’t disturbed,” Sean said, quickly approaching the host and talking while occasionally pointing to Lily and Rebecca.

Soon they got a comfortable table in the back corner of the restaurant where there weren’t too many people.

“What do you think?” Sean asked, gesturing to the table with both hands.

Rebecca smiled slightly and nodded, “Perfect. She looked at Sean secretly, and for the first time, she felt very grateful that she met him and not someone else who might not. treat her as well as Sean.

“You know what, I’ve heard the Ravioli Al Tartufo here is very famous,” Sean said as a waiter placed the Ravioli on their table.

“Oh really, I want to try it then,” Rebecca said, inhaling the aroma of the Ravioli deeply.

“You could take a picture and post it on your social media as your first comeback, maybe with the caption ‘trying something viral‘?” Sean suggested, pushing the Ravioli plate closer to Rebecca.

Rebecca looked at Sean in surprise. “Wow, how did something like that cross your mind? I mean, you’re a doctor,” she said, unbelieving what she just heard.

“Well, I am a doctor, but I’m quite up–to–date and not outdated. You’d be surprised but I know quite a bit about teen idols because I have to win their hearts when they become my patients, Sean replied cheerfully, which impressed Rebecca.

“Very well then, I guess this Ravioli will mark my comeback,” she muttered, then turned on her phone with her new number and started taking pictures.

“Is this picture good enough?” Rebecca asked, showing her phone screen to Sean. “Perfect, no wonder you have millions of followers, even your angle shows your level,” Scan praised sincerely.

Rebecca snorted, “Okay, I’ll post it in one, two, three…”

She closed her eyes tightly, “Okay, it’s posted!” she exclaimed, not believing what she just did.

Sean gently touched her shoulder. “Hey, it’s okay, I got your back, let’s eat!”

Rebecca nodded, checked on Lily for a moment to make sure she was okay, and then took a bite of the Spaghetti Allo Scoglio she had ordered. She closed her eyes, “God, this is so good…”

Sean smiled, he had never seen Rebecca so relaxed since they first met at the restaurant in Boston. “I ordered a T–bone too and we’re going to finish it,” he chirped.

“Sangria!” a waiter came, placing Sangria on their table.

Some people around them openly stared at them with judgmental looks. “She is not breastfeeding the baby, okay? Don’t worry!” Sean shouted, making everyone breathe a sigh of relief.

Rebecca snorted with laughter, “Oh, this is so funny!”

While enjoying her dessert, she was tempted to open her phone and check her social media. She scrolled through some direct messages and felt happy because many of her followers supported her, but there was one message that made her lose her appetite.

“Are you expecting misfortune in season three?” It was a message from Alicia.
