Biomorph

Chapter Patrol

When the class had finished changing, they walked outside to a scene that looked like it was from a horror film. Josh seemed to have killed something, rather violently, and was holding the skin out to his sister. When Ayla and Silvia screamed, Josh turned, and smiled.

“Oh, don’t worry! That was just a clone!” He appeared to have forgotten that his teeth were dripping red, as he had eaten the organs.

Both Boone and Adrian seemed unconvinced, but Arthur and Joel both looked relieved that their friend hadn’t killed anyone.

Well, anyone that wasn’t him. Sort of. Did clones count as people?

“Why?” groaned Silvia, looking a little green around the edges.

“Simple. My skin can be used to change your appearance. I mean, you can’t use any powers stored in it, unless you decide to integrate it(Bad idea) but you can still look like anyone, or wear anything you can imagine.”

Beta 43 then gingerly took hold of the skinsuit and put it on. Within seconds, the skin had morphed into a version of the ‘speed’ variant of Biomorph’s armour, except it was not green, but an icy blue. Josh laughed, and then fully suited up himself. It was his general-purpose armour, but he changed it to be a slightly lighter shade of green.

“Well then, shall we roll out?”

30 minutes later...

The Automaster was rather pleased that no heroes had shown up yet. He had taken control of the cities transport networks, and was slowing them down, making transport impossible for most ground-based heroes...

“Hey, leave the computer systems to me! Focus on him!” Overclock yelled, running up the street whilst trying to gain access to the systems controlled by Automaster.

Automaster groaned, seeing the heroes converging from every street. He silently sent 2 buses down the north street, where the technopath was. After all, how can you take over a system if you’re dead? And a bus was more than heavy enough to crush someone, especially if that bus was one of the new models that reduce their weight for easy transport. They could also increase it, so that’s what Automaster made them do.

Biomorph and the others had just enough time to glance at the buses before they were being hit. Biomorph was hit by one, Overclock by the other. The one that hit Overclock carried on, leaving the bloody body behind it. the class ran over to him, to see he was not only still breathing, but he was also conscious.

“How?” breathed Blessed Fortune (Boone). “Even I’m not that lucky.”

“Biomorph upgraded my suit to help with defense and healing. This was a close call, though.” Overclock calmly stated, before looking around. “Where is he?”

The class looked over to the other bus, which was fully stopped, with the wheels still spinning. As the class walked around, they found Biomorph in ... rather bulky armour, and being helped by Beta 43.

“Thank goodness you didn’t damage the systems” breathed Overclock, as he interfaced with the bus’s computer, and wrested control back.

“Gee, thanks. I’m alright, thanks for asking.” He sighed, then picked the bus up of the ground slightly. “Well, time to return to sender... ”

Suddenly, the Major’s comm chimed. He answered, and was met with the face of General Ross, notoriously nicknamed ‘Ruination’, as every campaign he had taken part of had led to the utter annihilation of his enemies.

“Major! I assume your project is still failing?”

Major Albrecht sighed and nodded. “Your turn then. However, if I capture him alive, or he willingly powers down his systems, you can’t harm him."

General Ross smirked. “But, before he does that, I’ll go full out, and try to kill him. Now, do you think Beta 42 will fight, like he was made to? Or will he just surrender to the ones who have caused him so much pain?”

The Major desperately started pulling all his countermeasures together. The one monster he had created was now coming back to haunt him, and his Boss wanted was mocking him. This wouldn't end well.

Automaster leapt out of the way as the bus came flying down the street and crashed into the building behind him. as the glass fell in a shower of rainbows and reflections, he glimpsed a hulking figure walking towards him. Dazed, he tried to crawl away, as this hero looked like bad news.

Before he got further than a few meters, he was hoisted up, and brought face-to-mask with that hero. Even though no eyes were visible, he could feel the anger radiate through the mask.

However, this wasn’t the usual anger. Automaster prided himself with the fact that anger didn’t unnerve him. This anger wasn’t hot or raging. It was cold, more like liquid nitrogen than fire, and it seemed that this hero could still think logically enough.

“That. Was. A. Big. Mistake.” Biomorph hissed as he contemplated what he could legally do to this villain. Nothing but keep him away for a long time, in reality, unless he wanted to kill every policeperson in the country at least.

And that option just wasn't viable. He wasn't going to risk full scale war against humanity just to kill this guy.

“Enjoy jail time for attempted murder.” Beta 43 snarled, as she came running up to check on her brother.

Automaster whimpered. He was going to plead guilty, if only to escape those two. They were way too scary for him...

Aphrodite and Artemis came running up next, having left the others to take care of Overclock.

“You guys ok?” asked Artemis, as they caught their breath. Beta 43 was visibly shaking with anger, but Biomorph seemed calm. Until he spoke.

“Please take this... problem to the nearest station.” Even Beta 43 was taken aback at how that one word seemed to drop the temperature a few degrees.

“I’ll finish patrol now. I don’t want anyone to see that side of me.” After saying so, he seemed to blur, and then stalked off, looking like a middle-aged man.

All three girls looked at each other. They knew that he seemed to be angry at Automaster, but was that the truth? Or was he angry at himself?

“We’ll take him in. You find your brother.”

“Thank you, Aphrodite. Artemis.” whispered Beta 43, and then sprinted away, to follow him.

Aphrodite and Artemis shared a knowing look, before dragging Automaster to his feet, and hauling him back to the others.

They needed to bring him in quick, or they would be late for their trip...
