Chapter 439
Chapter 439
Lydia’s collapse resulted in chaos within the room. However, it also afforded the First Elder and the others an opportunity to
contemplate the situation.
Gazing at Olivia, the First Elder refrained from an immediate decision. Instead, he requested that everyone depart and
reconvene the following day to reach a resolution.
Once everyone departed, Charlee brought a fresh meal for Olivia, who dined gracefully. Upon finishing her meal, Olivia turned to
Charlee and abruptly inquired, “Charlee, is the Flores Family’s golden voodoo worm almost evolving into the Golden Voodoo
King?”
Charlee was stunned by the question. She quickly shook her head and said, “It still has a long way to go. You see, it’s not that
easy for a golden voodoo worm to become a Golden Voodoo King. It requires the right timing and the right person.” Olivia
nodded, indicating that she understood.
Taking advantage of Charlee’s departure, she immediately communicated with the golden voodoo worm in her body. “Chubby
worm, let me ask you a question. Did the progression of the Flores family’s golden voodoo worm result in your existence?”
The golden voodoo worm shook its head. “Of course not. I’m much stronger than those worms. Even if those little bugs are given
a few hundred years, they won’t be able to become the Golden Voodoo King.”
Hearing this, Olivia stood up and walked around the room a few times. She asked, “So, I’m not Berry?”
The Golden Voodoo King remained silent.
Olivia supposed that the tiny bug was not well informed.
“What happened to my memory?” She frowned and continued to ask, “Does it have anything to do with you?”
The Golden Voodoo King muttered, “I don’t believe so. It seems there’s an issue with your mind. Your memory appears to have
been sealed, causing confusion. You’ll be fine after a while.”
She did not completely believe the Golden Voodoo King’s words, continuing to examine herself carefully in the mirror.
She often believed she had a grasp of medicine, but her confidence was somewhat uncertain. Consequently, she refrained from
casually examining her own body. While Oliva resided at the Flores family’s location, in the Hushe Republic, Daniel was nearly
going mad searching for her.
Successive groups of individuals were dispatched, and if Daniel had not been. injured, he would have certainly searched along.

While Daniel was searching for Olivia, the Smith family’s research institute was also encountering challenges.
The Grant family somehow got wind of Olivia’s disappearance and started backing the Watson family. They collaborated with the
deputy director from another research institute, aiming to harness Olivia’s power.
Despite Olivia’s high standing at the Capitol Research Institute and the considerable support she garnered, she was unable to
make a public appearance during challenging times. As a result, individuals at the Research Institute were hesitant to openly
oppose the Watson family.
After all, the Watson family had been operating for many years and had produced many results in scientific research. Besides, it
had a wide network and many supporters.
The research institute was now under the Watson family’s control.
Furthermore, the Smith family had sustained severe injuries. In Olivia’s absence, Yanis, Blake, and the rest were ill–equipped to
contend with the power of the Grant family.
Alexander, whose legs were broken, viciously assaulted the Smith family, displaying an intent to wipe out the entire family.
Meanwhile, Daniel was too focused on Olivia to care about anything else. At this critical moment, Mr. Book appeared.
He had brought someone with him.
“Olivia?” Daniel’s excitement surged as he tried to prop himself up on the bed.
Yet, as his eyes fell upon the woman’s lowered gaze, the joy on his face diminished like a receding tide.
The woman was not Olivial
Daniel was very certain of that.
Daniel himself had nearly mistaken that woman for Olivia, and this confusion was even more pronounced for Yanis and Blake.
The two of them circled the woman repeatedly, presenting immense shock. “Yes, they’re strikingly alike!” Olivia and the woman
seemed like twin sisters and were virtually
indistinguishable. Were it not for the woman’s timid and modest demeanor, she could easily have been mistaken for Olivia.
“This is Sheyenne,” Mr. Book said in a serious tone. The Capitol Research Institute cannot afford chaos. As the director, Olivia
must step in and take control of the situation.”
Daniel’s lips curled as he spoke in an emotionless tone, “So, you decided to find a counterfeit after failing to locate the real one?”
Mr. Book looked at Daniel and replied, “Mr. Sullivan, please consider the big picture.”

“The big picture?” Daniel’s chest heaved violently, struggling to contain his anger. After taking two deep breaths to compose
himself, he cast a cold glance at Mr. Book and said coldly, “I don’t care about the big picture. I only want Olivia. If Olivia is gone,
what’s the point of keeping everything under control?”
He struck the bed with his fist. “Mr. Book, spare me your discussion. I don’t wish. to hear about the big picture! I understand your
intentions for being here today. You want my cooperation to feign Olivia’s presence with this woman. Let me tell you directly: no
way!”
“Daniel,” Mr. Book too was infuriated, clenching his fists tightly.
Mr. Book, having held a high position for numerous years, was well–versed in maintaining composure even if faced with a
significant obstacle. He seldom displayed his emotions on his face, but at this specific moment, he found himself incapable of
concealing his feelings.
He wondered, “What does Daniel think of me? Does he truly see me as
cold–blooded, heartless, and selfish? Does he believe I only care about benefits and not about Olivia?!”
With his reddened eyes fixed on Daniel, Mr. Book retorted with agitation, “Do you think you’re the only person concerned about
Miss Taylor? I’m just as concerned. Every one of us is deeply worried about her. But merely worrying won’t resolve anything. Our
priority is to address the current predicament.”
Daniel said mockingly, “I’m different from you. You do care about Olivia, but you
okay? I only care
also care about your family, business, and interests. I’m out Olivia, but
about Olivia. I only care about her!”
Daniel was resolute and focused. He refused to be diverted by anyone or anything; his sole mission was to find Olivia.
Contemplating Olivia’s absence for several days, he could not help but tremble. Pain and fear surged through his bones, making
even the act of breathing a painful struggle.
Seeing that he could not persuade Daniel, Mr. Book was about to leave.
At that instant, Sheyenne, who had been as silent and keeping her head lowered, suddenly spoke up.
She, whose body was thin and feeble, did not raise her head. Standing there, she resembled a withered tree, appearing as if she
might crumble with the slightest gust of wind.
“If you want to find Miss Taylor, you should let me stay. Only if I stay, will the Grant family and the others withdraw their
manpower from the Wayne Country and turn the attention toward me. Miss Taylor will only be safe if I draw all the firepower
toward me.”
After saying that, she smiled timidly and looked up at Daniel in silence. She said word by word, “Isn’t it good to keep me as a
shield? At such a critical moment, the Grant family will definitely assassinate Miss Taylor. With me around, all the open

and secret fire will come toward me. This way, Miss Taylor will be safer.”
The room fell into an eerie silence.
After a long time, Daniel looked at Sheyenne inexplicably. “It’s very dangerous. Are you really willing to do it?”
Sheyenne cast her eyes downward quietly, and said, “Yes.”
Daniel said somewhat apologetically, “Alright, you can stay.”
Mr. Book was equally taken aback by Sheyenne’s statement. Following a prolonged silence, he said, “Apart from Mr. Sullivan’s
men, I’ll arrange for more people to ensure your safety discreetly. Henceforth, you will assume Olivia’s identity. All your
arrangements and care will be identical to those for Olivia.” Sheyenne pursed her lips. “You don’t have to feel apologetic. I’ll do
my best. I’ll make sure to do it very well.”
