Chapter 29
Sarah Williams – POV
I looked at Noah from my peripheral vision to see that he had a jovial smile on his face with no hint of suspicion and this irked me to no end. Noah’s fierce loyalty towards the pack, especially, his beta, has made him blindly believe everything that Zachary is saying. But, me being his mate, I know that he has something huge in his mind. “Thank you, beta Alan for inviting us,” Noah said, and Zachary nodded his head, then Noah soon entered the house while I stood in my place staring at Zachary, trying to figure him out.
“I hope you had a good night’s sleep last night, Miss. Williams?” Beta Alana asked me, breaking me from my thoughts.
“Of course, Noah and I had a particularly great night,” I said with sarcasm which immediately dimmed the bright smile on his face, and the corners of my lips lifted into a smile. I moved towards the door, but when I was about to step inside, beta Alan stood in front of me. There was only a hairline space between us. I slowly lifted my head to look at his face to see that his eyes were closed.
“Don’t try to lie to your mate, Sarah. Your scent is still consumed by mine,” he mumbled and soon opened his eyes with the mirth that was glinting in there. “I will know when something happens between the two of you. And I will not sit and wait till you finish,” he whispered in a warning tone before he stepped back and let me enter. I gave him one last look before I hurried my way toward the dining room.
Everyone was already assembled there, and I looked around

the table to see that there were only two empty seats left, to my luck, Noah was sitting in the right corner, so I had no option but to sit in between Noah and Zachary, with a dejected sigh, I went and took my seat. “Zachary, where is uncle Alan?” Alpha Blaze spoke, and I turned around to see Beta Alan has come, he soon took a seat to my left.
“He went back the same day,” he said in a monotonous voice, and right then, two omegas came into the room with plates of food. Once everything was set on the table, we began to pile our plates and started eating. Noah and Dimitri indulged in their conversation while alpha Blaze was discussing the recent murder with beta Alan, and I remained silent and continued eating.
“Ah!” I screamed, which made the conversation come to an abrupt stop, and everyone looked at me in concern.
“Are you all right, Sarah?” Noah asked me with a worried looked, and I nodded at him with a fake smile on my face.
“Yes, I thought something ran over my feet. Anyway, let’s continue eating.” I said, and everyone nodded their head, and then the conversations again resumed while I discreetly looked at beta Alan. And I know that he felt my glance because a small smile formed on his face before I looked down at my thigh. His hand was way above my knee, and his hands were under the frock that I was wearing. I slowly put my hand on his and tried to pull it away from my thigh, but his grip only became tighter.
“How do you like the food, miss. Williams?” beta Alan
suddenly asked me, and everyone’s attention was on me, and I looked at him to see that he had an innocent smile on his
face.

“Um, it’s good, beta Alan,” I answered, and he nodded his head.
“Then, I think we can ask Mrs. Earnshaw to cook your wedding meal too, right?” beta Alan asked me, and that is when I realized what he was trying to do. But I will never give away my secret, so with a smile of my own, I nodded at his suggestion.
“Of course, beta Alan. Noah and I were discussing this.” I said and turned my attention to Alpha Blaze. “Alpha, Noah, and I have decided to get married in two months, but we would like to get your permission to conduct the wedding inside the forest,” I said.
“This is unusual. I mean, I have always gone to weddings that are conducted in a church.”
“Yes, but I believe that the place you get married doesn’t matter as long as you both are deeply in love with each other. Marriage is not just about a piece of paper, but it depends on the emotions that both the mates are feeling.” I said, and Alpha Blaze nodded his head.
“If you two think that way. Then, I don’t think I will come in your way,” he said and I thanked him, while I was able to feel the emotions of anger that was emitted from my mate.
“I will come back as soon as I can,” Noah whispered in my ear, and I nodded my head and hugged him tighter. Noah is only leaving for a week, but it feels like he is going away for a month. The connection between the both of us is far superior to a friendship bond, it is a bond that was created based on trust and honesty, and I feel like he was the only person in this pack who stood by my side while my own mate was against

- me. The risk that he took to act like my mate, is something huge because I don’t think anyone would have come forward to do so when they know that I am the mate of their beta, who would literally kill him if he finds out about our facade.
Beep beep.
“Noah! Let’s get going.” Dimitri yelled, and I broke away from the hug and stepped aside. Noah quickly went and said his goodbyes to the alpha and beta before he made his way toward the car. The car zoomed past us, and I watched it till it disappeared among the trees. Something inside my heart. sank, but I know that it was only a few days.
“Miss.Willaims, where are you going?” I turned around to look at Alpha Blaze.
“I am going back to the cottage to take some rest, Alpha,” I replied, and he nodded his head before I continued walking toward my world of tranquility.
