“Sarah, can we go on for a run? Please? Jane asked me, and I looked at my surroundings and had second thoughts. I mean, from the moment I came to this pack, I never let Jane out, and I am also not familiar with this place either.

“But, this is new territory, Jane. We don’t know how safe this is.” I said, and she huffed but started to whine again.

“Fine! Let’s go for a run.” I said, and she let out a happy howl. I locked the car and walked deeper into the forest. The canopy of the trees was very dense, which didn’t let the moonlight pass through, making the forest almost impossible to navigate through.

“I can help you get through the forest. Let me out, Sarah.” Jane asked me, and I looked around to see that there was no one. I quickly started to remove my clothes, and I stuff them all inside a small hole that I found in a tree. I closed my eyes and concentrated to clear my mind and let my wolf come forward. A few minutes later, I felt my bones breaking and reshaping, fur sprouting through my skin, my nose elongating, and all my senses heightened. When I opened my eyes, I was standing on all fours, I shook my thick coat of black and white fur and looked ahead.

“Okay, you can take control but don’t stray too far, got it?” I asked Jane, and she let out a yelp, and then we started to run. The cold wind was brushing past my fur, giving me more strength to run. We ran for three hours till we were both exhausted, and Jane came to a stop behind a huge tree.

“Now I feel rejuvenated.” she sighed.

“And I am exhausted. Let’s go back home, Jane.” I said, and she nodded her head and got up from the floor, when we were about to leave this place, I heard heavy footsteps running towards me.

“Help! Help!” it was a woman’s voice, and she sounded distressed. My protective nature immediately came forward, and I stepped forward to go and help her. I walked quietly towards the sound, and when I came to a small clearing among the trees, I saw a woman on the floor. She was covered in blood, and her dress was torn. I looked up to see a huge gray wolf slowly advancing toward her, and from its height and built, I know that it was male.

“Let’s go and help!” Jane chimed in, and we both burst out from the forest and charged toward the rogue wolf. The wolf didn’t expect my appearance, so I was able to tackle it to the ground, and I bit hard on its stomach, which made him let out an agonizing howl. I thought that he might give up, but he got up in full force and pushed me away from him and bit my hinge leg, and growled at me.

Even though it was painful, I didn’t want to give up now because if I do, then the woman and I would both end up dead. I got up from the floor and looked directly into the wolf’s eyes. And this made him stop in his track and look back at me. I saw anger and worry swirling in his eyes which confused me. But before I could have time to react, he charged towards me and using his claws, tore a portion of my flesh from my underbelly.

“Oh my!” I heard the woman exclaim, but I was too weak to move anymore. The wound in my underbelly was burning. like someone poured acid on it, and blood was soon

drenching my white and black fur, which made me dizzy. But I still moved towards the woman as the last resort to save her, but the rogue wolf pushed me with so much force, that I went and hit the tree branch and fell to the floor. I was slipping in and out of consciousness, and I couldn’t take it

anymore.

The wolf approached the woman, and I tried to get to her, using my last ounce of strength. The rogue looked at me with a vicious smile on its face, before he tore the woman’s throat right in front of my eyes as if he was mocking me, while I howled in agony and I lost consciousness.
