Beta Xavier Costa.

Chapter 83

Beta Xavier Costa - POV

“Don't you dare lay a finger on her!” Luca sneered as he tried to break free from his shackles, but it was of no use. The more he struggled, the more harm he was doing to himself.

“I am the beta of this pack, not you. So I don't have to listen to a fucking traitor.” I said in a monotone as I walked into the cell where Chantelle was already tied. “Bring me the silver whip,” I commanded, and a warrior nodded his head and quickly ran out. He came back a few minutes later with the whip and handed it over to me.

“Xavier, pl…please let me go. At least for the sake of being your first mate.” Chantelle begged me as tears streamed down her cheeks.

“Isn't that what Eleanor must have said when you caught her earlier?” I asked her while she remained silent.

“Don't you at least have that ounce of love in you that you had toward me?” she asked me, but I was long gone from hearing her nonsense now.

“Step back,” I commanded the warriors, and they did as I told them. “You ought to feel the same pain I felt, Chantelle. When you betrayed me.” I told her when I began raining down lashes on her body. Her screams filled the prison cell, and I saw the warriors shudder. Benjamin was screaming for me to stop, but I ignored his pleas and continued. “I told you to stay away,” I said. “But you didn't fucking listen.”

I lost count of how many times the whip landed on her skin, but the blood that was pooling on the floor, I know that must be more times than I intended because she had already lost consciousness. “Chantelle!” Benjamin kept calling her name.

“Beta Costa.” a warrior stepped forward. “What should we do about him?” he asked me.

“Do we have the wolfsbane in stock?” I asked him, and he nodded his head. “Mix a high concentration of wolfbane along with silver and inject it into his bloodstream,” I said, and the warrior nodded his head, and soon left the cell.

I turned around to see that Benjamin looked like a madman right now. His eyes were bulging out of his socket, and his veins were pulsing. Soon, the warrior came back, and he looked at me, so I gestured for him to proceed. Benjamin snuggled a lot, but the warriors were able to hold him down and inject the serum. “How long would it take for his organs to shut down?”

“It would take thirty minutes for him to die, Beta Costa.” the warrior said, and I nodded my head.

“Make a stronger dosage of that and bring it to me,” I told him, and he nodded his head and soon left. “Get me a bucket of ice water,” I said, and another warrior left to get what I wanted. Once the warrior had got everything that I asked for, I walked back into Chantelle’s prison cell. “Dunk her head inside till she wakes up,” I instructed, and the warrior nodded his head and moved toward her.

One of the warriors held her head while the other dunked her in. A few seconds later, she started to struggle, and the warriors let her go. She started taking deep breaths while her eyes landed on me again. “Why are you torturing me like this?” Chantelle asked me, but I ignored her question.

“Give me the syringe,” I said, and the warrior soon passed the syringe towards me.

“Wh…what is that?” she asked me, looking at the colorless liquid.

“I think I will forgive you for what you did, Chantelle.”

“Really?” she asked me, her eyes widened in surprise.

“Yes, so I asked the pack doctor to get me a healing potion,” I said and showed her the syringe. “But I will only give this to you if you promise me that you will not cause any more trouble for this pack.”

“I promise, I promise. I will go somewhere far away, Xavier,” she said, and a smile formed on my face.

“Good,” I said and walked toward her, and injected the liquid into her bloodstream. “Within a few minutes, you will not feel a thing,” I reassured her.

“Thank you, Xavier. I promise I will never cause any trouble,” she said, and I nodded my head and stepped away when her eyes landed on Benjamin. He had lost his energy to scream right now, and there was blood dripping from his nose, but he was still alive.

“What about Benjamin? Please let him go as well.” Chantelle asked me.

“Well, now that can't be done, darling,” I said, and this made her look at me. “He is still a member of my pack, and what he did is counted as treason, so he will be getting the punishment for that,” I said, but I could see that she didn't like what I said.

“B…but what am I going to do all alone in this world without my love?” she asked me, but I didn't answer. A few minutes later, she began coughing, and she spat out blood onto the floor. When she saw the red liquid, her eyes widened in alarm.

“You said I would be healed?” Chantelle asked me as blood started dripping from her nose as well.

“Correction, I said you will not feel anything.”

“Xavier!” she yelled, but another fit of cough caught her. Her eyes were bloodshot now, and she started wriggling in her chains, screaming in agony.

“I loved you so much, Chantelle. And that was the only reason I let you go out of this pack alive. But I am not going to make the same mistake twice.” I told her.

“You lied to me.” she accused, and this made me let out a humorless laugh.

“Lie to you? I think you sleeping with Benjamin behind my back is also considered lying. So I guess we are even now.” I told her, but she did not have the energy to speak anymore. I turned around when I saw that Benjamin had already died.

“Your boyfriend has already left this world. You can also join him soon in hell.” I told Chantelle, her eyes were still locked on mine, and a victorious smile formed on my face as I saw the life slip from her eyes.
