Beta Xavier Costa.

Chapter 59

Eleanor Amato - POV

I was arranging all the flowers in the vase when I felt a warm pair of hands wrap around my waist. I turned around to see Xavier standing behind me. He was wearing a casual black shirt paired with black pants. “You look handsome,” I mumbled as I traced my fingers along his jawline, which made his eyes close, and he growled in approval.

“If you keep doing that, we might have to leave this housewarming ceremony and go back home, Ellie.” he mind linked with me, and this made me bite my lips while my eyes sparkled in want.

“I would love that too, but…”

“Eleanor.” I looked away from Xavier to see his mother walk inside the kitchen. “Can you bring the cookies to the dining room, dear?” she asked me, and I nodded my head. She briefly looked at both of us with a smile on her face before she walked out of there.

I tried to wriggle my way out of his arms, but he held me even closer. “Xavier, people have started coming in. Let me go,” I whispered, but a pout formed on his face.

“You know, ever since I got a taste of my mate, I don't have the heart to let you go,” he said, making a blush form on my face.

“I think you can get a taste of that later. Now, please let me go.” I said, and at last, he removed his hands from my waist. I stepped closer to him and placed a chaste kiss on his cheeks before I moved to the countertop to grab the plate of cookies.

“You look beautiful in that little black dress.” he complimented as I walked out of the kitchen. The housewarming party went by nicely, and I was excited that everyone enjoyed my cake and cookies.

“Congratulations on your new house, Mrs. Costa.” I heard a familiar voice from the foyer. So I placed my glass on the coffee table and walked out of the living room to see that Rebecca and Ivan had also come.

“Thank you, dear. And welcome to the pack as well.” Mom said, and Rebecca nodded her head.

“Hello,” I said, which made everyone turn around to face me. “I thought you wouldn't come.” I walked towards Rebecca and pulled her into a hug.

“I was a bit hesitant to come here. But Mrs. Costa invited me yesterday, so I didn't have the heart to say no.” Rebecca explained.

“Eleanor, why don't you take them inside.?” Mom asked me, and I nodded my head and led them inside the house. After I gave them a small tour of the place, I led them outside to the backyard. The moment Becca saw the beautiful view of the mountains around, her mouth gasped open.

“This is one of the best views I have ever seen,” she said out loud while she moved closer to the railing and looked down. Mom and Dad had built the house on a small mountain that was inside the pack territory. And even though it was challenging to build it here, they were able to make their dream come true. Becca began taking pictures of the view while I headed back inside to get them something to drink.

“Ellie,” I turned around to see Xavier standing a few feet away from me.

“Are you going somewhere?”

“Yes, I have to go and interrogate that rogue. But I will meet you at home?” he asked me, so I nodded my head. He walked closer to me and placed a kiss on my lips before he walked out of there.

Beta Xavier Costa - POV

As I walked closer to the interrogation room, I heard the screams of the rogue. When I pushed the door open, I saw that Marquez had already started his work. “Did he say anything?” I asked him, but he shook his head.

“He keeps saying the same thing, and it is getting on my nerves.”

“What is he saying?” I asked Marquez.

“I am telling the truth, beta Costa. He didn't tell me to do anything. All he said was my job here was done.” he said, and I saw the look of sincerity in his eyes.

“I don't think he is lying,” I told Marquez, and when he was about to protest, my phone beeped with a message. I took it out to see that I had got a message from an unknown number.

You think you are smart, Beta Costa. Just wait and watch what I do to that mate of yours. I will take her right from under your nose, and you won't even realize it.

My blood started boiling in anger while I read and re-read the message. “Can you trace this number, Marquez?” I asked him, and he nodded his head.

“I will send it to the tech team,” he said, a few minutes late, he got a message from them, and this made him look at me with a disappointed look on his face.

“The message was sent from a burner phone, and it was located in the human town outside the territory,” he said, and a smile appeared on my face. “Shall I send a few warriors to go and take a look?” he asked me, but I shook my head.

“That would just be a waste of our time. He will not be there.” I said, and a frown appeared on his face.

“But we can try, Xavier.”

“He is not some rogue that we can easily catch, Marquez. He is intelligent, he knows strategy, and he knows how to escape without getting caught.”

“So, what are you suggesting?”

“He belongs to a pack.”

“But who can it be?”

“That is what we will have to find,” I said, and my glance turned towards the rogue.

“What are we going to do about him now?” Marquez asked me, and a sardonic smile appeared on my face. This piece of shit had the nerve to try and kill my mate, so it is only fair he experienced the same pain that I went through. I took the small remote from my pocket and pressed the button, instantly, breaking all the silver balls inside his body.
