Bestfriend Divorced Me When I Carried His Baby (Kelly and Pierce)

Chapter 218

Saved or

Kelly's POV

Pierce's men are now evacuating all the employees in my dad and mom's company. We're just about to leave to help when one of the guards left to guard us fell on the floor, bleeding and lifeless, I gasped as 1 stared at his eyes that were still open. He got a gunshot wound on his forehead and my heart immediately raced in fear. I remember the night I was kidnapped when I was young. It was scary and... traumatizing.

Pierce immediately grabbed my hand and dragged me towards the kitchen while the other guards were welcoming the newly arrived enemies with gunshots. What he did brought me back to reality.

One of the guards gave Pierce a gun before he went out to help the others. I'm panicking and all I could think about is surviving this day without getting hurt or losing my baby or Pierce.

"Where are we going?" I asked while I still could hear the loud gunshots echoing in the whole house.

Pierce licked his bottom lip and opened the sliding door. "We need to escape.*

He guided me to leave and he was holding my hand so tight, not wanting to let go. My heart was beating so fast and loud. I feel like it will pop out of my chest anytime.

I didn't expect this kind of attack. My throat went dry as Pierce and I ran towards the service exit of the mansion. It was connected to the garage but opening the gate would take time so we decided to leave by

foot.

It's 5PM already. We spent our time searching for Emily and this is what will happen this afternoon.

Pierce was still holding my hand so tight. On his other hand was the gun and I can see on his face that he's worried and...scared for us.

"Don't stop running, Kelly."

I swallowed hard. "I-I'm tired. I can....no longer run..."

Pierce stopped and faced me. He's also panting like me but he didn't care about his own body. He kneeled before me, showing me his back.

"Get on my back, Kelly."

"Pierce..."

"Get on my back. I will never leave you, so get on my back. If you're tired of running, I'll run for us, just trust me."

I nodded even if he couldn't see it and got on his back. I wrapped my arms around his neck just enough not to choke him. He started running while carrying me on his back and I know how hard it was for him since I won't deny that I'm heavy as I became a little chubby because of my appetite these past few days. "I'll hold that gun," I said as I saw how he struggled to carry me while holding that thing. He immediately handed it to me the same time I saw someone ahead of us.

My eyes widened. He's alone and it seems like he's looking for us and he immediately found us.

"Shoot him, Kelly!" Pierce said as he continued running

I took a deep breath and lifted my arm. I did everything to focus and put my courage on the gun as I put my trust on Pierce. He's still running and the man ahead of us started running towards us too. He was pointing his gun at us and before he could pull the trigger, I shot him. Saved or

My lips parted when he stopped running as the gunshot echoed in the silence of the afternoon. Dogs in the subdivision started barking. "They'll find us."

"We'll survive this day without losing each other," Pierce answered, making me squeeze my eyes closed. Yes! We will survive. I trust him..

I immediately hid the gun when I saw a car coming our way. It stopped abruptly in front of us and my eyes widened when I saw the man sitting on the driver seat,

"Mason..."

"Get in," he said and opened the door of the backseat.

A gunshot filled the air and I realized the people chasing us had found us. Pierce immediately put me on the backseat before he slipped himself on the passenger seat and grabbed the gun from me. He started exchanging bullets with our enemies and I couldn't help but stare at him. While the car's moving away fast, I looked at Mason. He was driving silently and with a serious face and clenched-jaws.

He hasn't fully recovered. Why is he here?

"I didn't help you because I believed you. I came here because Matt wants me to," he said as if he felt my

stares.

I swallowed hard and nodded. I don't have the energy to utter a single word. I'm still tired and...shocked,

"Kelly, are you okay?" Pierce looked at me after he made sure that the enemies weren't tailing us. He was looking at me worriedly.

I nodded and gave him a small smile.

"What about your stomach? Does it hurt?"

I shook my head and swallowed hard again. Pierce turned to Mason. "Do you have water here?"

Mason pointed at the storage compartment between the two seats in front of me. Pierce immediately. opened it and grabbed the bottle of water inside. He opened it and handed it to me.

"Drink slowly," Pierce reminded me.

I nodded and drank slowly just like what he said. I almost finished the bottle of water. Pierce drank my leftover before he put the empty bottle on the dashboard and faced me again. He held my hand and intertwined our fingers. My eyes landed on our hands when he gently kissed the ring on my finger.

on't be afraid. I will protect you."

"Pierce, what about the company?"

He sighed. "I dropped my phone and I can't recall anyone's number aside from yours."

I squeezed my eyes closed. What should we do?

"Where are we going?" Pierce asked Mason.

Mason didn't answer so I opened my eyes and looked at him. My forehead creased when we entered an old and antique gate of a huge house. The house was old and classic. The intricate design of the facade

amazed me. Even the greenery on the wall of the mansion looked classic.

"Whose house is this? Mason, if you're gonna turn me in to your father-"

Saved or

"Do you really think t'm-that evil?" Mason cut me off as he stopped the car inside the backyard of the

mansion.

He turned the engine on and looked at me through the rearview mirror. "This is an abandoned house. No one's coming here so we're safe here. Matt's inside if you don't trust me."

"Matt's inside?" My forehead creased. He opened the door of the driver seat and got out of the car. Pierce helped me out and he guided me as we followed Mason. True to his words, Matt's inside and he's not alone. Sara Foster's with him, crying on the couch. What happened?

"Kelly!" Matt saw me. He walked towards me and hugged me, I was taken aback as I could feel him sighing in relief. "You're safe..."

I bit my bottom lip. "M-Matt, Emily is..."

"I know," he whispered. "I badly wanted to help but Mason brought me here. I don't know how to leave this remote place since I have no car. Please help me escape, Matt whispered in my ear as he hugged me even tighter.

So, he wants me to help him escape. That's why he hugged me?

"No one's leaving this house. We'll stay here until I say so." Mason said which drew my attention

I looked at him with a creased forehead while he's pouring liquor in a shot glass:

"What the heck is your problem, Mason? You run over my husband! Why did you do that?!" Sara Foster attacked him and started throwing slaps and punches but Mason didn't even flinch.

My lips parted as I watched the scene in front of me. What's happening?
