Chapter Benson 258

Chapter 258 The Dilemma and Release

Yvonne only took a few bites of breakfast before she hurriedly ran upstairs and locked herself in the study.

Her mood was low, filled with disappointment and anger toward Benson, leaving her with no appetite, for breakfast

Her emotions were like the stormy sea, turbulent and impossible to calm.

Benson stood outside the study door, knowing he couldn’t resort to extreme measures like Steven to keep her trapped in this small space.

He understood that physical confinement alone couldn’t bind her spirit.

His current strategy was to try various methods to keep her from divorcing him.

With the reopening of Caesar Plaza approaching, he knew her compromise might only be a matter of time.

However, seeing Yvonne’s determined attitude, he realized she hadn’t truly given in.

Her stance gave him a headache, and he knew he had to think of another way.

As the clock struck ten, Benson decided to take action.

He walked to the study door and gently knocked.

A cold “Go away” came from inside, laced with obvious anger and resolve.

Benson sighed, his tone carrying a hint of pleading, “Yvonne, how about I take you out?”

There was silence from inside for a long while, and Benson patiently waited. He leaned against the door, listening to the sounds inside.

Finally, the door slowly opened, and Yvonne stood at the doorway, her expression indifferent, with a trace of exhaustion and helplessness in her eyes.

She coldly remarked, “Benson, I’m like your pet now, aren’t I? And now you want to take me out for some sun?

Benson’s gaze was calm and deep as he looked at her, as if trying to read her

thoughts.

He didn’t say anything, just waiting for her response.

At that moment, Yvonne seemed somewhat fragile. She forced a smile, but it was tinged with an unnatural strain.

“Of course, I’ll go.” Yvonne finally said, but then she shut the door again.

Her fingers moved quickly across her phone, trying to message Megan for help.

However, the message wouldn’t send, and her disappointment made her feel slightly deflated.

She knew she couldn’t escape for now and would have to quietly follow Benson out.

Benson carried a suitcase, indicating that he had plans for a long trip.

Yvonne didn’t say much, her attitude cold as she walked beside him.

Her silence and indifference made Benson feel uncomfortable, but he didn’t provoke any arguments.

The car drove away from Las Vegas, heading towards the mountains.

As they drove, Yvonne’s expression gradually changed.

The calm look on her face began to crack, and her eyes wandered outside the window.

She looked around, seeming to find the once familiar road somewhat strange. Even though she was full of doubts, she didn’t ask any questions.

Her silence was an expression of her dissatisfaction with the current situation. and her helplessness about the future.

The car finally stopped in front of a Chinese–style hotel, where Hannah and Susan were waiting.

When Yvonne saw her mother, her pent–up feelings finally found an outlet.

She walked towards Hannah, her eyes welling with tears, emotions surging like a tide.

She hugged her mother tightly, finding comfort and warmth in the familiar

Maruah gently patted Yvonne’s have, sully comforting her

Aren’t you here for work? Benson thought it be good for me to come alang

By a vacation Last time I didn’t get enough time here”

Yvonne looked around, tooling a bit pussied by the sudden vacation plan

“Where’s Olivia?” she askedt trying to hd some practical direction

Olivia is with your brother, arranging the lodging inside,” Hannah answered naturally

Yvonne frowned slightly, “Brother?” She seemed not to immediately grasp her mother’s meaning

Yes, Olivia’s boyfriend,” Hannah added.

Yvonne’s expression grew complex as she fell silent for a moment, unable to hide her confusion.

“Mom, you want me to call Steven my brother

“Yes, Mr. Steven.” Hannah nodded.

“Mr. Steven?” Yvonne found it amusing, struggling to connect the name wil Steven’s image

She felt a bit resigned as the name echoed in her ears, sounding particularly

strange

Just as she was grappling with this, Steven appeared, holding Olivia’s hand

Their arrival interrupted Yvonne’s thoughts, Steven, upon seeing her, immediately smiled and said, “Hi, sister”

Yvonne managed a cold smile, her mood unchanged by Steven’s cheerful demeanor.

Hannah’s gaze was reproachful, “How can you be so rude? Stever lost his parents early, and I liked him from the moment I met him.”

Yvonne listened to her mother’s words, her heart filled with complex emotions. She laughed lightly but didn’t say anything more

care made Yvonne feel a sense of familial warmth.

Steven was very courteous, thanking Hannah with every bite, as if he truly enjoyed being pampered and cared for.

Yvonne, however, had little appetite. She had eaten little in the morning, upset by Benson, and now felt nauseated by Steven’s behavior, barely touching her food

After lunch, Yvonne accompanied her mother back to their room, her mood heavy.

She knew Benson’s intentions–after all, he had seen her plans.

Their discussion didn’t stay focused on the vacation but drifted towards work and future plans.

Benson still needed to find Mr. Donald to discuss matters related to the jewelry competition.

Meanwhile, Benson and Steven were smoking in the hotel garden.

The garden was lush and green, with the scent of tobacco filling the air, and their conversation carried an undercurrent of tension.

“Your tricks are effective, huh? Playing the captivity card?” Steven’s tone was laced with sarcasm.

Benson visibly bristled at the word “captivity,” his displeasure evident. “Your Chinese is bad; don’t speak carelessly.”

Steven sneered, “Mr. Benson, weren’t you the one in Reno who said to give. Olivia space and distance? That absence makes the heart grow fonder? You can’t even handle your wife and dare to give advice to others?”

“Doesn’t work? Olivia’s attitude toward you has noticeably improved,” Benson retorted, his fingers fidgeting with his cigarette in agitation. “You know what? Doctors can’t cure themselves.”

Steven’s sneer remained, “So now you’re playing the captivity game?”

His gaze was disdainful.

“Weren’t you the one who said to respect her choices, give her time? And now? Looks like you can’t handle it either.”

Benson’s brow furrowed deeper, his frustration more apparent.

He knew his efforts might not be paying off as he had hoped, but Yvonne’s attitude left him feeling powerless and defeated.

What could he do if his wife was so difficult to please?

If she didn’t agree soon, he wouldn’t know what to do next.
