Chapter Benson 25
Chapter 25 Bleeding Wound
Megan carefully helped Yvonne up from the floor, her movements gentle yet firm, as if supporting a wilting flower.
Yvonne’s face showed a trace of pain, but her eyes revealed strength.
Megan bent down to pick up the scattered documents.
Let’s get your hand treated first.” Megan’s voice was warm and caring, her eyes falling on the cut on Yvonne’s palm. The wound, like a silent mouth, told the story of the recent misfortune.
Yvonne nodded, her movements somewhat slow.
Together, they went to the nearby community hospital. The hallway smelled of disinfectant, and the white walls reflected cold light
Megan waited in line at the payment window, her back looking somewhat lonely.
Yvonne sat on a chair in the corridor, her thoughts drifting to the damaged brooch, wondering how she could restore it to its original state.
As Yvonne sat in the hospital corridor, her gaze fixed on the floor, her thoughts wandered.
Suddenly, a shadow fell over her. She looked up and saw Marcus,
His face was covered in sweat, and he looked anxious.
“How did you…” Yvonne smiled slightly, “Did Megan tell you?”
Marcus shook his head, his eyes filled with concern
“Megan answered your phone. I wanted to ask you to dinner. His voice was low and gentle
He knelt In front of Yvonne, gently opening her fingers.
Yvonne’s palm was fair, but now it had a thin, long cut, with blood slowly oozing out
Marcus lowered his head and gently blew on the wound, trying to ease her pain.
Yvonne closed her palm, her voice calm: “It doesn’t hurt much.”
Marcus frowned, his gaze fixed on the wound.
“Such a long cut can’t be painless. Who did this?” His tone carried a hint of blame, as if scolding the person who hurt Yvonne.
Yvonne shook her head gently, her eyes showing a hint of fatigue.
“It’s not important.” She said softly, trying to push the impleasant memory away.
However, Mary’s figure lingered in her mind.
Mary was indeed clever. After her assistant called Benson, her attitude changed immediately.
She handed the brooch back to Yvonne, her tone carrying a faint hint of pride: Here’s your brooch.”
Yvonne reached out to take the brooch, but Mary suddenly slashed her palm with it.
The pain made Yvonne frown. She couldn’t understand why Mary was so brazen
It wasn’t until Benson appeared that Yvonne realized.
Her husband, Benson, would indeed stand up for her..
At that moment, Yvonne felt a complex mix of emotions, gratitude for Benson and frustration with Mary.
Instinctively, Yvonne pulled her hand back, causing Mary to drop the brooch, which hit the floor with a crisp sound.
Yvonne looked at the brooch on the floor, her heart filled with mixed emotions.
Marcus looked at Yvonne, his eyes full of concern.
“It does matter. I’ll stand up for you so no one dares bully you again.” His tone was firm, as if promising Yvonne he would protect her from further harm.
Yvonne’s gaze lingered on Marcus for a moment. She could feel his kindness, the care that warmed her heart.
However, she also had concerns. The Taylor and Winstead families had good relations, and she didn’t want her personal issues to create awkwardness between them.
“Marcus, you should go back.” Yvonne’s voice was gentle but carried an undeniable firmness.
Marcus shook his head, his eyes determined.
“I’m not going back. If I leave now, I’ll never have a chance to win your heart.”
His voice carried a hint of pleading, as if begging Yvonne to give him a chance.
Yvonne felt helpless. Marcus knelt before her, looking directly into her eyes, as If trying to see into her heart.
His words were sincere, each word carefully chosen.
He couldn’t forget her, thinking about her all the time, wanting to see her.
Megan returned with the medicine, and the doctor began cleaning Yvonne’s wound. She winced in pain, and Marcus, unhappy, said, “Can’t you be gentler? Can’t you see she’s in pain?”
Then he leaned down and softly said to her, “Yvonne, bear with it. This disinfecting hurts, but I believe in you.”
The doctor”
Yvonne was speechless. Marcus was treating her like a child.
After a simple bandage, Marcus took her home, repeatedly reminding her to follow the doctor’s advice, avoid getting the wound wet, and change the dressing on time.
He also said he would handle her breakfast and dinner.
Marcus’s careful and timely comfort touched Yvonne deeply.
As soon as Mary stepped into the room, Benson pushed her forcefully
Caught off guard, Mary fell heavily onto the hard floor.
Her knees hit first, followed by her palms, and the impact echoed in the empty room.
Pain shot through her like an electric current.
What k
kind of person are you to mess with her, hmm?” Benson’s hand gripped her neck without force, but she shivered.
She had been with him for six years and knew the more composed he was, the more dangerous he became. He might actually break her neck in the next
moment…
In front of others, he always appeared gentle and protective, deeply in love with her.
Mary’s face was pale, her eyes revealing fear.
She stood before Benson, her voice trembling: “I really didn’t mean it. It was Miss Yvonne….
Benson’s sharp gaze cut her off, his tone displeased. “She wanted that brooch so badly, she wouldn’t just drop it. Do I look stupid? Tell me, how did you manage to give it to her so shattered?”
Mary felt a chill. She knew Benson wasn’t asking but interrogating.
Mary paled, realizing she had to admit her dirty deeds. This was Benson
She didn’t want to, but she couldn’t defy him.
After hearing her out, Benson disdainfully wiped his hands with a wet wipe, standing aside.
“Mrs. Taylor, Manager Yvonne, pick the title you like.”
Mary stood there, her feelings complex.
She realized that Yvonne and she were entirely different in Benson’s eyes.
Yvonne held a place in Benson’s heart that Mary could never reach.
Benson had already gotten into the car, his expression serious.
He asked George in the driver’s seat: “What is she doing?
George immediately pulled out his phone, contacting someone.
Two minutes later, he reported to Benson: “Madam returned to the company from the community hospital, along with Mr. Marcus”
