Benson

Chapter Benson 242

Chapter 242 Entangled

In the afternoon, Benson finished his work in the office, the light from the screen casting a few warm

rays.

He casually pulled out his phone to check it.

Suddenly, Mr. Donald sent him a video. Curious, he

clicked on the link.

The video gradually revealed Yvonne’s figure.

She was wearing a loose gray sweater paired with simple jeans, her hair braided into a single plait that hung casually over her shoulder.

She sat at a wooden table, carefully sawing a piece

of walnut wood.

Sunlight streamed through the window, casting dappled shadows across her as she worked.

Her movements were slow and deliberate, as if each

action was deeply considered.

Yvonne was entirely absorbed in her work, unaware that she was being filmed.

Though her face was bare of makeup, her natural beauty was still striking.

Even in her simple attire, her aura was captivating, making it hard to look away.

Her focus and tranquility made the video particularly mesmerizing.

Recently, their relationship had cooled, leaving Benson puzzled.

Since their last argument, their interactions had almost completely ceased.

He didn’t know what Yvonne was busy with, and his attempts to reach her had gone unanswered.

By chance, seeing this video, he finally understood what she had been up to.

It turned out she was on vacation, spending her time learning how to craft handmade items.

He immediately called Mr. Donald, hoping to learn

more.

Mr. Donald’s voice on the other end was deep and resonant.

“Yvonne’s taken a week off. She came up the

mountain with me. She’s very interested in crafting, especially in making collectible chess sets.”

Mr. Donald mentioned that he spent most of his time in the mountains, like an artisan, focused on creating handmade pieces.

His workshop was at the foot of the mountain, surrounded by tranquility and fresh air.

Yvonne had shown great interest in making a walnut wood chess set.

The process was complex, requiring patience and skill, not something that could be mastered

overnight.

“She brought her mother and Olivia with her. They’re here to learn how to make crafts and also to enjoy a vacation.

You know, crafting a walnut chess set is detailed work, and she’s been at it for a week now.”

There was a note of admiration in Mr. Donald’s voice.

“Although Yvonne hasn’t formally studied craft-

making, she has a natural talent. The softened walnut wood is being polished smoothly under her hands.

Mr. Donald also mentioned that while the process of making the chess set was intricate, he was willing to help when necessary.

However, he hoped Yvonne would complete as much as possible on her own.

Yvonne was flattered when Mr. Donald suggested taking her on as an apprentice, but she politely declined.

“She told me she couldn’t abandon reality to stay in the mountains as a craftsman,” Mr. Donald said with a touch of regret.

Life in the mountains was indeed refreshing.

The fresh air and peaceful environment were soothing, as if they could sweep away all worries.

However, completing a high–quality walnut wood chess set in just a week was clearly a challenge.

Mr. Donald occasionally lent a hand in the workshop to ensure the craftsmanship was meticulous and of high quality.

Yvonne, on her part, tried to complete as much work as possible.

Olivia sat beside Yvonne, diligently helping her apply the lettering onto the walnut wood.

Each time Yvonne placed a letter, Olivia carefully checked it and then gently pressed it with a tool to ensure every detail was perfect.

Her brows were furrowed in concentration, looking

somewhat tired.

It was said that each letter had to be meticulously sawed, a process that was extremely complex and detailed.

Seeing Yvonne’s focused expression, Olivia couldn’t help but speak up, “Yvonne, this is really

troublesome. Why not just buy a ready–made set?

Wouldn’t that be easier?”

Yvonne smiled slightly, a look of determination in her eyes. “Making it yourself feels more rewarding. Don’t worry about me; go have some fun.”

Olivia sighed but obediently left.

She knew Yvonne was firm in her decisions, and

while she found the task tedious, she respected her

choice.

Not long after, Olivia returned with an exquisite gift box.

She handed it to Yvonne with a somewhat

complicated expression. “By the way, Yvonne, this is for you.”

Yvonne took the box, curiosity stirring within her.

When she opened it, she found a pendant inside.

She was momentarily stunned and looked up at

Olivia.

Olivia seemed a bit uneasy as she explained, ”

Benson threw this to me without saying a word. He looked pretty frustrated when he handed it over.”

Yvonne silently put the pendant away without saying much more.

She knew that this matter was not simple.

Olivia noticed Yvonne’s heavy mood and didn’t say anything further, just gently patted her on the shoulder.

On the way back to the hotel, Olivia linked arms with

Yvonne, trying to distract her.

“Yvonne, why do you insist on getting a divorce? You know, Benson has been looking for you for years. His feelings for you run deep.”

Yvonne shook her head lightly, her gaze serious. Maybe I just don’t like him anymore.”

Her voice was calm, but there was a hint of helplessness in her words.

Olivia didn’t press further. The car soon stopped in front of the hotel.

Her face suddenly paled as she saw Steven standing under the streetlamp, smoking.

At that moment, Steven’s figure under the light looked particularly ominous, exuding a cold aura.

When he saw them, Steven’s lips curled into a cold smile, his eyes flashing with displeasure.

He walked up and grabbed the back of Olivia’s neck, pulling her in front of him with considerable force.

“Have you forgotten who I am while playing first love with others all this time?”

Olivia’s face turned even paler. Instinctively, she

clung to Yvonne’s arm, trying to retreat.

Yvonne immediately stepped in front of her,

blocking Steven’s move.

Her tone was stern, “Can’t you talk to her properly? There’s no need to get physical.”

Steven’s expression darkened instantly; he didn’t like being treated this way.

Although he was dissatisfied, he knew he shouldn’t act this way in front of this woman.

Being pushed by Yvonne only fueled his anger.

He felt a sense of frustration, knowing that his relationship with Olivia could have been closer, but now it was awkward because of Yvonne’s

interference.

Yvonne quickly pulled Olivia back into the room, shutting the door behind them.

Steven followed closely, as if he had every right to invade their personal space.

He entered the room, casually sitting on the sofa, his hands resting on his knees, casting a hostile glance

around the reem

Yvonne stood by the door, her brows furrowed, eyes showing weariness and frustration.

“What are you doing? This is our room. How can you just barge in like this?”
