Becoming the Alpha (Amethyst Pack BK2)

“Why would you make such a decision as to sacrifice your child for your mate?” Calvin surprised me as I sat at the roots of a huge tree, hoping everyone would give me just a moments peace.

“I could create another child. I couldn’t create another Craig. I thought…I thought we could go back to how things were, but now, he doesn’t even remember me. He hasn’t got a clue on who I am!” I cry leaning my head against the trunk of the tree.

“I don’t agree with your decision, however, I understand it. I do agree with the banishment of the witches. They are tricky, especially Lucinda, she’s particularly difficult. I do believe that Pauline was a good one though, so although you hold a hatred for them, remember she has been there for you and I believe she really had no idea of what Lucinda was doing. Don’t give up on family” He says.

“Alpha! There are intruders on the north border!” Liv calls to me through the link as I jump up, shifting as Calvin watches me before taking out his phone, trying to work out what was going on before I sprinted towards the border.

“What’s going on?” I ask as my father joins me on the way.

“Someone is taunting us” he growls as he stops, his eyes darting all around.

“We’re being watched?” I ask as I notice someone darting through the trees as I growl.

“Little wolf!” I hear them call as I snarl and head back towards the treeline.

“NO! Serena!” my dad shouts.

“This ends now!” I growl.

“Over here little wolf…Or am I here?” His voice darts all around me as he flits, I use my senses trying to keep track as he suddenly darts towards me.

I catch his arm in my teeth as he screams out, trying to loosen my grip but I only hold on tighter as he hits me again and again.

My dad finally finds us as he helps me bring him down.

“You did this! You ruined my life! I said you would pay I took your magic and now you will pay with your life!” I shout as dad pins him.

A dart whizzes past me as it hits Sebastian in the chest as his eyes go wide and he becomes weak.

“He was mine to finish!” I growl at Calvin.

“Of course he is, he isn’t dead, just weakened. I thought you’d want to make a show of him” He smirks.

“Oh, you are clever Calvin” I laugh as I look back, my dad was dragging Sebastian behind him, letting everything hit him on the way.

“You’ll die like your mate…” Sebastian murmured as he grimaced, unable to fight back.

“Oh, you mean Craig…Well…The thing is, he’s not dead” I watch as his eyes go wide.

“Alpha! What…Oh my god!” Liv stands watching as we drag Sebastian to the front of the house.

“Boss” Christopher comes out from a group of hunters as he throws a set of cuffs to put on Sebastian to keep him weak.

Once the cuffs were on I smirked at my father as I took Sebastian from his hands and dragged him to the porch of the house.

I whistled getting everyone’s attention as I waited for everyone to come out of the house.

“Serena, what’s going on?” Daniel asks before his eyes go wide at the man kneeling before me.

“We caught ourselves a vampire” I smirk.

“You’ll all die, the others will rip you apart!” Sebastian begins to get livelier in my grip.

“Like you killed my mate? Oh but look” I said grabbing him by the hair as he stared at Craig walking out the house. My heart hurt seeing him and yet was so happy he was alive once more.

“NO! He should be dead!” he shouts which gets Craig’s attention as he frowns.

“He was, but we brought him back. Now I’ve been dreaming of the moment of destroying you and yet I can’t quite decide what to do” I tap my chin as I throw him to the ground.

“Rip him to shreds!”

“Burn him!”

“Let us have him!” The pack shout a series of ideas.

“Who is he?” Craig asks Daniel behind me.

“The man who killed you” I answer for him.

Craig growls angrily as he steps beside me as Sebastian looks on in fear.

“You always said you wanted to rip him apart…Here’s your chance” I gesture for Craig to have at it, but he looks at me confused.

“Why would I want to? Why would he have killed me?” he asks.

“You don’t remember! Oh, this is sweet!” Sebastian chuckles maniacally as the pack growls at him.

“What am I missing?” Craig asks as I struggle not to tell him everything, feeling the loss of my mate who stood right in front of me.

“You were her…” Sebastian started but I rushed forward, my claws extending from my hand as I sliced across his face, slicing at his tongue so he could no longer speak.

“I was your WHAT?!” Craig asks pulling at my arm for me to face him as anger filled his eyes.

“Get your hands off of her!” Alex pushes between us.

Sebastian was making noises as his face began to heal, but his tongue would be gone permanently but he seemed to be enjoying the show, trying to laugh.

“Just tell him the truth Serena,” Daniel says.

“We will talk later…” I say to Daniel and he nods, sighing, pulling on Craig’s arm away from us as he glares at Alex.

“Stand down Alex,” Oliver says from the doorframe he was leaning against.

“You might be the beta, but SHE is my alpha, I will listen to her and only her” Alex growls.

“Alex…Enough” I place my hand on his shoulder, retracting it back suddenly at the sudden feeling of an electric shock.

“Yes alpha” He murmurs looking at me before back down the steps, his eyes not leaving me.

“I don’t care what happens to you any longer Sebastian, you ruined me, my life and I will never get that back. But I still have a family, my pack and you will never take that from me, you led me to this, so I thank you, enjoy hell asshole. The pack can deal with you” I kick Sebastian with force onto the ground as the wolves descend, Lucien and my father included as they tore him limb from limb until nothing was left.

“Well I didn’t expect that” Calvin murmurs as I raise a brow at him.

“There are bigger things to worry about now. There will be other chances, I have other enemies. Yusif, Ben and Callum are next. I already killed Thomas.” I shrug.

“But Sebastian did the most damage,” Carla says watching me carefully.

“Yes, he did. But killing him doesn’t take any of that back. He will suffer in hell still he is dead. It doesn’t matter who did it”

“Alpha, we need to talk,” Alex says.

“Not now” I growl.

“Yes now!” He shouts as the twins, Liv and Oliver all get between us.

“For god sake! Alex, we will talk later! Oliver go back to bed you need to rest; boys be with your mates and help Craig adjust to his new life. Calvin, I mean no disrespect but go home, rest your men, I have a feeling it’s all about to go crazy” I sigh.

“Couldn’t agree more. Do contact us if you need us” Calvin nods at me and takes his leave.

“You need to tell Craig the truth cupcake,” Lucien says via our link as I turn to him and growl as he holds his bloodied hands up in surrender.

“I’m going for a run” I growl as I shift and begin running off.

“You can’t run from everything Serena!” David shouts at me.

I turn quickly, shifting once more.

“Fine! Craig, we were mates, I sacrificed our unborn child to get you back, the witches decided they had to take more to get you back and didn’t tell me, so we lost our mating bond and you lost some of your memories! Sebastian killed you! I didn’t get to you in time! I tried to save you and then I got the chance to have you back and I still lost you! Is everyone happy now?! Great! I’m going home!” I scream out before giving anyone the chance to stop me I shifted and ran quickly back to the flat.

“Serena…” Pauline says quietly as I walk through the door, slamming it as I jump in surprise.

“Don’t, not right now Pauline” I shake my head.

“Serena, please, Pauline loves you,” Tony said behind her as I notice Vance with them too.

“I didn’t want this to happen, I never thought she would give your mating bond and his memories…There was nothing I could do Serena. She was my coven leader” Pauline looks at me with tears in her eyes.

“Was?” I ask.

“I left, abandoned my coven.” She said as I look at her in shock.

“Why? Don’t you need them to keep yourself strong?” I ask.

“I do. But I also choose my family, Tony is going to turn me just as he has always wanted, and I swear I will do everything I can for you. I can never make up for what we did, I love you, Serena, I would never want to hurt you” She says as Tony places a hand on her shoulder.

“I love you too Pauline” I sob as I rush forward into her arms, she had been like a second mother to me and I knew in my heart she would never want to hurt me.

“I want it known that Pauline is no longer a risk to our pack, she is a friend and will not be harmed. Anyone who causes harm to her will be banished” I tell the pack through the link as I feel their uncertainty.

“Well…Today was…eventful…” Vance chuckles nervously.

“How about a nice hot chocolate?” Tony asks as I nod, Pauline takes my hand and leads us to one of the booths as we all sit together.
