Chapter 4
Ares POV
"Focus and feel the pull within you. That tingle upon your your very skin." He whispered against my ear, spreading goosebumps across my skin.
"It's extremely difficult to concentrate with you so close to my body touching me like that" I replied as I tried to hold back my smile as he chuckled and moved to remove his hands from my waist only for me to place my hands over his and hold them there.
"I didn't say I didn't like it." I added and watched him smirk at me as he leaned in towards me and smiled.
"You like me touching you huh?"
"Very much so yes." I replied and leaned in, touching my lips against his.
I felt him smile as he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled my body against his. I ran my hands up his chest and coiled my arms around his neck as I pressed myself against him. I felt a shudder run through my body as his tongue invaded my mouth. I submitted to him almost immediately and let him take control of it. I ran my fingers through his thick long locks and gripped it, hearing him moan against my mouth.
I smiled as I repeated that, loving the sounds he was making against me. The sounds I was making him make. Those very sounds that drove me insane, making me want to hear them over and over again.
I broke away from him when I felt like my lungs were going to explode and leaned my head against the tree behind me. He took that opportunity to latch his mouth onto my neck. I gasped and moaned out as he trailed his kisses down my neck to my my collar bone. I felt him trail the tip of his tongue up the side of my neck until he reached my earlobe, biting it slightly.
"I'm supposed to be helping you with your powers" he whispered making me smile as I turned my face and pressed a slight kiss against his lips.
"You do know I'm just fifteen. I still have three years to perfect and master them. Why everyone makes a huge issue over it, I will never know." I replied and wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to me.
"How about one, you're the future king and two, the only pure blood fae in the kingdom. Your power can uproot entire kingdoms." He replied as he drew small circles on my hipbones making me smile slightly.
"Again, I have three years to learn all that. I want to make the most of my time now. My time with you." I smiled wider when I saw him smirk as he nuzzled his nose against mine.
"Three years huh." He said as he placed his forehead against mine. I didn't have to say anything to that, knowing what he was thinking and could only smile at him as he looked into my eyes. His silver ones staring into my blue ones.
It was an ancient tradition amongst my people, for us to merge our bond with another at the age of eighteen. For it was then that our connection with nature was solidified and we became what others called 'ripe'. It was the age wherein we fully matured, ready to mate with another.
The concept of procreation among us, was the same whether a male or female for we were all born with a womb and it was at the age of eighteen that we became ready to carry our heirs.
I didn't have an idea of what my parents had in mind for me in terms of my mate, but I had no do doubt that they would accept Urion.
As far back as I can remember, Urion had always been there. Appointed as my personal bodyguard when I turned ten, Urion had followed me every where I went. Although he was five years older than I was and well aware of everything pertaining to our world, he had never made me feel incompetent about anything and had always had patience with me.
I remember going through a phase when I turned thirteen, wherein Urion had been everything I thought about day in and day out for an entire year. I remember being so terrified that he would reject the feelings I had for him, feelings that I thought he would be be disgusted in and when he returned those feelings, I never knew that I could be that happy. Such joy that filled my entire being with such a warm feeling, it felt like I was wrapped in this blanket of warmth whenever I was with him.
"It seems so far away." I said as I moved my hands and ran them down his back hearing him chuckle slightly.
"Three years will pass by in the blink of an eye. Just take a look at how fast you grew up." He replied and smirked making me roll my eyes at him.
"I'm not a child you know."
"Of that I have no doubt." He said and pressed a kiss against my forehead before he stepped back.
"Come on, it'll be dark soon." He said and moved to walk in front of me as he had always done.
I stayed back for a few seconds before I walked ahead and caught up with him, walking next to him. He turned his head and raised his eyebrow at me, most probably wondering why I was walking next to him. I ignored his look and took his hand in mine. I laced our fingers together and looked ahead as we walked back to the palace.
I loved walking with him, in fact, I loved anything that had to do with him. Even if it was something as simple as spending the day in the forest for his presence alone, made me feel whole.
To my disappointment, we had reached the palace gates and he released my hand, entering before me as he always did. I nodded at the guards as they bowed their heads as I walked through the gates and into the main hall. I looked ahead of me, at Urion walking with his guard up, clutching the sheath of his sword. Gone with his relaxed and calm posture he had just a few minutes ago.
"My Prince, the Queen wishes to see you."
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at that and turned around to find my mother's very trusted guard, Verand by trusted I mean her spy and shadow.
An extremely tall man of the elf species, much taller than myself, probably as tall as Urion was. He had been entrusted to my mother at the tender age of nine and had remained in the palace for ten years.
"I'll be there in a few minutes."
"She said to tell you that it was urgent." He replied and lowered his gaze, but not before it lingered upon Urion.
I bit the inside of my cheek, trying to hold myself back from saying something that would ultimately deem me crude and glared at him.
"Well tell her I said I'll be a few minutes. You may leave now" I replied in a firm voice, making sure I had gotten my point across to him.
He bowed his head once more and turned to look at Urion before he smiled his way and turned to leave. I gritted my teeth at the nerve he had to do that in my presence and glared at his retreating form.
"There isn't anything to worry about." Urion said and I narrowed my eyes at the slight amusement in his tone of voice.
"I know that, but the way he looks at you really angers me." I replied and actually raised an eyebrow when he laughed.
"I don't see the joke." I added and crossed my arms over my chest.
"You're quite cute." He said as he shook his head and turned his direction towards my mother's chambers.
I stood outside her door and sighed, checking my appearance once more before I knocked on the door, waiting a few seconds before I heard her voice telling me to come in.
For some reason, I had a feeling this was going to be one long visit..
