Beauty and His Beast [MxM] (UNEDITED)

Chapter 31

Ares POV

I sighed once more before I stretched my body out, feeling the stiffness of it wear off a bit after a few seconds and got up.

I looked around trying to figure out just where the fuck I was in this huge forest since the direction to the palace seemed to change constantly. I wondered briefly if that was part of the enchanted barrier that surrounded it or whether I was just a bad sense of direction.

I shook the dizziness from my head as I slowly began to thread the pathway in front of me, hoping that I was going to the right way, as I was not about to spend another night running for my fucking life again.

I looked up towards the sky, finding the North star yet again, and although it was mid afternoon, I could clearly see every single star across the sky. I wondered how my family fared these past few months, if it was even months at all.

I wondered how my mother was feeling. Was she angry? Was she hurt? Did she give up looking for me?

I had never really thought about these matters before, always believing that I would be there. The thought of being away from my kingdom and palace was not something that had ever crossed my mind before. In fact, I had never actually thought anything long term. I always knew I would take over the kingdom one day and would rule in my father's image. But beyond that, I had no vision.

Part of that had begun when Urion up and left. At the time it felt like my entire world had fallen apart. Like everything I had planned and envisioned had all shattered right in front of me and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. Sure I had my parents and family, but to me he was someone entirely different.

He was someone I truly connected with. Someone who understood me, someone I could be myself with and when he left I had lost that part of me. I began to close myself off from everyone and grew to hide what I felt, mirroring the emotions I saw in others, and yet, I felt a change in me the moment I laid eyes on Fortis that night in the dungeon.

I had no idea what is was, and frankly I still don't, but the moment he walked into that dungeon and ripped Kronar off me, was the very first moment I had felt something in a very long time, and that feeling only grew and intensified with each moment I shard with him. It felt like hiding what I was feeling became pointless with him because he seemed to already know what I was feeling.

Before I knew what was happening, I found myself wanting him to know how I felt and what I was thinking. I wanted him to know everything about me. It was the type of connection I had made with him instantly. It was like something in me just trusted him and knew he was different from everyone else. I couldn't begin to explain it even if I tried, for it was something that went beyond words.

I stopped walking for a brief second, halting my steps when I felt that familiar tingle at the back of my neck, the hairs gently standing. Indicating the presence of someone behind me or close by. I closed my eyes, feeling the afternoon breeze brush against my skin, the sounds of various creatures moving around and conversing with each other, each in a language of their own and yet each one made sense to me. I listened closely, finding the sound of a heart beating steadily close by. A small smile finding its way to my mouth as I opened my eyes and continued my walk, now fully aware of the presence of the person behind me.

I walked through the forest, occasionally stopping to converse with and admire the various plants and creatures around me, smiling at the different responses they each gave me. Some happily chatting away with me while others recoiled out of fear for a brief second before coming out again, all the while he secretly followed me, making sure to stay within the shadows at all times.

By nightfall I had reached the river. I bent down and stared at my reflection on the surface of the water, before I took a handful of water in the palms of my hands raising them to my lips. I sighed in appreciation as the cool water glided down my throat and quenched that burning thirst, a few droplets making its way down the sides of my mouth and down my neck. I gathered another handful and splashed it across my face and one more over my head before I stood up, shaking my head.

"You know, I find it highly offensive for you to follow me around and watch me," I uttered as I brought my braid over my shoulder and squeezed the water out of it, turning around to face the darkness I knew he was lurking in. I waited for a few more seconds before he slowly emerged from the shadows and looked right at me.

"I wasn't following you." Fortis replied, his bright green orbs glowing in the darkness as he looked back at me.

"Is that so? Let me guess, you observing again?" I asked in my usual sarcastic tone and watched as a smirk spread across his handsome features.

"Precisely" He replied as he walked towards me until he stood in front of me, inches away from my face and looked down at me with those glowing green orbs since he was a whole head taller than me.

"How did training go today?" He asked as he placed his warm hand on my cheek, moving a strand of my wet hair behind my ear and smiled down at me.

"As okay as can be, given the fact that I still have no clue why all I can do is talk to ants and flowers , and well have my ass handed to me." I replied with a shrug and watched him tilt his head as he looked at me.

"You really talk to ants?" He asked causing me to burst out laughing as I wrapped my arms around his neck and watched him smile at me.

"Did you think I was talking to myself all those times?"

"I did think you were going insane at one point" he replied casually as he smirked at me and bent his dead down, his lips brushing against mine ever so slightly.

I smiled at him before I leaned in closer, connecting our lips and tightening my grip around his neck. I felt him place his hands on my waist, slowly making its way towards my lower back where he pulled me against him. I resisted every urge within me, to moan at the feeling that spread throughout my body when his tongue wedged its way past my lips and into my mouth.

I ran my fingers through his thick midnight hair as he took control of my mouth and felt him explore every inch of it with his tongue, running it along the roof of my mouth sending shudders throughout my body as I tightened my grip on his hair.

I felt him move his hands downwards, past my waist and towards my backside, where he lifted me up with almost no effort at all. I wrapped my legs around his waist as he walked backwards, not breaking away from me for even a second.

He bent down and settled me down on the grassy ground, climbing on top of me as he cupped the side of my face and connected out mouths once again. Nothing about the way he touched me and kissed showed his need or desire for control. If anything, his touch resembled that of a lover's touch.

I heard a sensual moan pass his lips as I spread open my legs and allowed him to settle himself between them. I reached down between us and untied the tie on his pants, slipping my hand in and touching him. I felt him gasp against my mouth as I circled my hand around his hardening length. I moved my hand in a slow rhythm as he gently removed my clothing piece by piece until I laid completely bare beneath him.

I looked up at him, his green orbs glowing brightly as he looked back at me and in that moment, everything else disappeared.

I wasn't a crowned prince destined for great things and to rule over a prospering nation. He wasn't a hybrid son of an Orc king who was looked down upon by everyone. We were just us. Him and I. Two people who had grown to feel something so much stronger than the word 'love', for it was something that could not even be put into words.

"I love you" He whispered as he looked at me, his warm hand gently placed against the side of my face as he ran his thumb across my bottom lip.

I blinked and looked at him, knowing what I should say in reply, and yet, those seemed as though they would never be enough to express what I really felt. What I had never felt before.

"I love you too."

A smile adorned his face as he leaned down and pressed his lips against mine, connecting our bodies in the same moment. Something about that gesture caused my heart to swell and an overwhelming rush of emotions burst forth within me. I gasped as I felt him all the way inside me, breathing heavily as I wrapped my arms his neck and moved to his pace.

With every thrust and every moan that emanated from him, came the untold feelings that his mouth could not word. It was as though I could feel it as my own, as though I could feel his very soul inside me.

I arched my back off the ground as I felt him latch his mouth onto my throat, marking me as his with every gentle bite. My breathing quickening at every nudge he made to that very sensitive spot deep within me, such a spot that only he had touched. I tightened my grip on him when I felt that familiar wave of ecstasy slowly approaching me and closed my eyes as I pressed my mouth against his.

I felt him grip onto me in such a deathly grip as he shuddered. That warm feeling of him filling me completely pushed me over the edge as I shook slightly and held onto him, staining our chests. I felt every last drop of his inside me before he gently pulled out of me, rolling over so he laid beside me.

I chuckled slightly as I turned and rested my head against his broad chest. My fingers running along his ripped muscles, listening to the sounds of his erratic breathing, which after a few minutes, seemed to calm down and beat in a steady rhythm.

"Are you going to go back?" He asked after what seemed like hours of laying there, completely bare under the bright moonlight.

I hadn't answered his question, for it was the very question I had been avoiding for the sole reason of being afraid of what my answer would be.

"I can't stay here forever." I replied in a whisper, certain that he had heard me.

"I have a family out there that's probably been looking for me. I have duties and responsibilities that I cannot run from as much as I'd like to, but along with that, I love you. You mean so much more to me than I could possibly put into words and I want to be with you." I added and turned to look at him.

He hadn't looked at me, rather, he had fixed his gaze upon the dazzling stars above us. His glowing eyes moving from one star to the other, as though he was looking for something.

"When I was younger, I was told that a soul mate bond is a connection of minds, mutual respect, unconditional love and complete understanding. It's about being yourself and knowing, that not only is that person following and understanding your thoughts, but is right there with you, side by side through everything that life throws at you." He uttered in a quiet voice before he turned his gaze and looked at me.

"I had never understood that. How could that even be possible? To find someone who was so perfect for you in so many different ways. I remember looking at these stars every night wondering where you were. Or if you even knew about me." He said, his voice holding so many emotions that left completely speechless as I looked at him.

"I know and believe with every fiber of my being that you Ares, are my soul mate. I've waited for what felt like an eternity to meet you and love you. And because I love you, I will not stand in the way of you becoming who you are truly meant to be. You destined for everything that is great, and I want nothing more than for you to achieve that." He uttered making me widen my eyes at what he was saying.

"What are you saying?" I asked as I looked at him, my eyes traveling to his looking for anything told me he hadn't intended what I thought he did.

He smiled at me, interlocking our fingers and raising them to his mouth where he placed a kiss against the back of my hand before he looked back at me.

"Go to sleep. We'll discuss this further in the morning. I'm sure you're exhausted after today." He replied as he leaned in closer to me and pressed a kiss against my forehead.

I nodded and moved closer to his body, wrapping my arm around his waist and burying my face against his shoulder. I felt him pull me closer to him and wrap his arms around me. I closed my eyes with a slight smile on my face at the feeling of him holding as I fell asleep yet again.

"Fortis?" I asked as I slowly drifted off..

"Mhmm?"

"I love you." I said in a sleepy voice I barley recognized as my own.

"I love you too Ares" he replied as he pressed a kiss against my forehead before I drifted off thinking..

What had he meant?
