Chapter 2
Around the same time, deep within a forest...
"One more" A woman said as the woman before her screamed and threw her head back as she cursed out.
She had never felt that amount pain in her entire life. What felt like her entire body was tearing in half, seemed to making her angrier by the second as she kept on cursing out loud, causing the other lady holding her hand next to her, to look down at the huge swell on her belly with sympathy.
"Just get it out!" She yelled once more as the woman in front of her nodded and asked her to push once more.
After much more cursing and screaming, the child finally wailed and screamed as he sucked in air into his lungs for the very first time. The woman chuckled as she cut the cord and wrapped the child up in a cloak. She held the child up in the moonlight, trying to get a better look at the child and smiled.
While his most dominant features were that of an orc, given his tiny tusks that glowed with saliva as he screamed and cried and his large size for an infant, he did however posses numerous nymph features to his face as well. His eyes were that of a nymph , a vibrant shade of bright green that glowed in the darkness of the forest. Ones that he had inherited from his mother, as well as his thick locks of beautiful black hair. As back as charcoal. She held the baby out to his mother who sneered and turned her head out of disgust away from the crying child.
"Get that thing away from me." She uttered in a voice void of any emotion.
A voice that did not belong to a mother who had just birthed her child, but rather belonged to a person filled with anger and hatred. Enough hatred to turn on an innocent child who had yet to learn the evil and darkness of the world he had been brought into.
"My lady, he's but a child. He has not the faintest idea of the world around him. How could he have known that his father would -"
"Don't you dare speak that man's name to me ever again! Take that thing away from me. It is not to ever set foot near me or my people. Where it goes, I care not, for it is nothing to me." She spat as she turned her head away from the crying child who seemed to be aware of his mother's presence and wanted nothing more than to be held by the one person who was supposed to love him more than anything else in this world.
The woman, known as the The Nymph maiden, closed her eyes and allowed the lady seated next to her, to heal her of her wounds. She sighed and got up once she was recovered, gathered her robes and turned to return to her village not looking at her son even once. The village that would never know the birth of this innocent child for the young maiden had sworn to keep him a secret from them.
The healer turn to look at the baby, crying as he grabbed onto fistful of clothing with his tiny fists and wailed. The young healers heart filled with sorrow as she looked at the baby. She could not understand how the mother of a child could turn on a baby within an instant. The very concept of it was unknown to her, for she was a healer. Her heart was pure of all the darkness in the world. To her, when she saw something wounded and in pain, she was naturally inclined to heal it. However, the pain flowing through the tiny veins of this baby was something that she could not heal, for a mother's love was something that could never be replaced.
"What shall we do?" The other woman asked and turned to the healer who looked at her, not knowing what to do with the child.
She took the child and held him against her as he cried. His tiny tusks shinning in the moonlight as he screamed. He latched onto a lock of her long hair and pulled onto it causing her to gasp. Almost immediately, he stopped crying and opened his eyes. He looked up at the healer with those bright green eyes and seemed to be looking for something within her eyes. She smiled down at him and quietly recited the couplets of protection over the child.
The young woman with her, narrowed her eyes at her, not understanding what she was doing for the couplet of protection was something was done solely for the royalty, but deep within her heart, the young healer knew that he would need it more than anyone. She pierced her thumb against her fang and ran it across the child's forehead who continued to look at her with a confused expression.
"This is all I can give you child. I hope and pray the world is kind to you." She whispered as she placed a kiss on the child's head and looked up at the woman.
"The fates do not allow this child to remain with us, for his destiny is beyond our hold." She uttered to the young apprentice who looked at the child.
"He is but a baby. How will he survive?" She asked.
"That is not for us to decide. We are but the likeness of the stars. Visible just to guide him but never altering his cause." She replied and stood up with the baby in her arms.
The apprentice said nothing more as she followed the healer deeper into the forest. None said a word more as they walked in silence, the baby suckling on his thumb as he laid against the healer. The apprentice did not have to be a fortune teller to know and feel the pain emanating off the young healer and nothing pained her more than to watch her in pain. But she knew more than anything what interfering with fate would do.
Destiny had already been written thousands of years ago, and would unfold no matter what course the individual would undertake. She would only pray and hope that the fates would be kind enough to this young child.
The healer walked until she stopped at a village, bursting loud with music and laughter. She looked ahead at the numerous lights and fires that surrounded this village. The smells of burning wood and roasted meats filled the air around them as she walked into the village.
She walked past the stares and sneers of the numerous giants around her and walked to the tent she had in mind the second the child opened his eyes to her.
She stopped outside the tent, the sounds of a scream of pleasure echoing out the tent followed by a growl. She cleared her throat and made her presence known causing yet another growl, this time, out of anger.
"Out" said as deep masculine voice and no sooner did a female emerge from the tent not bothered in the least to cover herself up as she sneered at the young healer and walked out.
The healer then walked into the tent, the smells of mating filling the tent as she held the baby close to her chest and looked at the humongous orc sitting on a chair in front of her. He narrowed his eyes at the healer and looked at the bundle in her arms before he raised his cold black eyes to meet hers again.
"I warned you against coming here again." He said in a deep voice.
"And I warned you that you cannot outrun what had been decreed." She replied.
"He is your son, destined to grow up among you." She continued and watched as the giant orc laughed and shook his head.
"Sure I fucked his mother, that doesn't make him my son." He replied and looked at her, his eyes travelled slightly to the bundle she was carrying then back to her.
"He might have come into this world through an act of forceful violence, but that does not make him any less of a person. He did not choose to have you as a parent but you will not run away from this as did his mother. You are destined to raise him and you will suffer the wrath of the fates should you abandon him." She uttered in a voice devoid of fear despite the giant glaring at her.
"How dare you speak to me in that way! Do you have any idea who I am! I rule this land!" He replied to which the healer advanced forward, not bothered in the least by the rants of the Or , and laid the baby on the bed who immediately cried and wailed at the loss of the warmth of her chest.
"I do hope you find it in you somewhere to see the beauty that he is." She uttered before she left the tent, her heart breaking at every step she took away from the crying child.
A child that would never know the joy of being named. A child that would go through life with pain, anger, hurt and betrayal. A child, that will be known as..
The Hybrid
