Beast Of The Moon

Chapter TWENTY FOUR

North’s P.O.V

We made our way to the combat area, which was just a simple clearing but I guess it works the same way. Dax stepped in front of me and said, “We’ll start with dodging, Kota stay back ok”. The little boy sat on the grass and nodded to his father. I faced Dax who began in a starting position.

I copied his stance, then he charged after me, head-on. Almost like instinct, I moved out of the way fast. He looked up and smiled at me, then he aimed his fist at my face, but even before I could comprehend his move, I grabbed his fist and bent it back to him, causing him to stumble slightly.

Then he kicked his foot back, but before I could even come close to hitting me, I grabbed him and flipped him on his back, he landed with a huff and a light chuckle. Once I let go, he used his other to kick my feet, causing me to fall backward. He chuckled, then I flipped myself back up. I smiled.

Then we started doing fast pace fighting, like the kind you see in the movie’s, right when I had Dax in a headlock, I heard Kota yell, “DON’T HURT MY DADDY!!!” which distracted me. Giving Dax the upper hand. He flipped me over his shoulder, and I landed on my back with a groan, I landed right where my bite was.

No, I haven’t healed yet, Miah said that they never do. She explained it as being a Werewolf’s main weak point. Hit them there with a silver bullet or a wolves span covered knife, your dead. I guess that’s why it hurt so much.

Then I felt someone hitting me, no burning me??!! “Bad North You hurt my Daddy” I heard Kota saying, hitting me with something that was burning my skin. “Kota Stop!!! You’re...Burning him??” Dax spoke confusedly. “Kota! put that down, it’s Silver!!!” Dax cried out. So that’s why it hurt so much.

I watched as Dax made Kota drop the item, that looked like a silver pole. I hiss in pain as I tried to move, but where Kota hit me on my shoulder and neck wouldn’t let me. “Kota where did you get this??” he asked with anger in his voice. “I found it in Wyatt’s room” he spoke in his tiny voice.

Dax only shook his head at the boy and ran over to me, “You’ll be ok, come on” he said helping me stand, I looked at the boy who looked ready to cry, I smiled at him as a way of telling him it wasn’t his fault. I could walk fine but Dax insisted on helping me. He took me into the packhouse and helped me into the kitchen.

I sat down at the end of the table, trying not to move my neck or shoulder while Dax searched in the fridge for ice I think. He walked back over and said, “I don’t know how to treat Silver marks but I assume it’s like a regular burn so here’s some ice” He handed over an ice pack which I placed on my neck.

It hurt for a moment, then I relaxed to the coldness, “Thanks Dax” I spoke in a tired voice, I guess all the fighting wore me out. “I’m sorry for Kota,” he said with guilt in his eyes, I shook my head and said, “No, it’s alright, he didn’t know”. Dax smiled warmly, “Thank you North, you’re kind” I nodded.

Then the door opened and I saw Klaus walk in, “Hey North, Dax, how’s the training going?” Dax the went really pale as he looked at Klaus. “Wait, North, why do you have that Ice pack?” he questioned with a confused look on his face. If it was possible, Dax’s face went whiter with fear.

“Did something happen?” he said walking over to me, Dax then suddenly stood in front of me, I guess he was scared Klaus would tell Connor that his nine years old burned the handsome, brave and amazing Lycan called North. “Move aside Dax” he spoke in a dark tone. Dax slowly moved aside and stared at me.

“Move the pack North” I only stared at him, “Is this really a big deal Klaus?” He glared and said, “Move it North” he spoke. I rolled my eyes and slowly moved the ice pack, hissing in pain. Klaus stared down at my burn.

“Silver..” he mumbled under his breath, then his eyes shot back to Dax, “Silver! really Dax” he stormed over to him, “He’s Connor’s Lycan you fool!!!!” I wanted to interfere and say I was Not Connor’s property, in any way. I also wanted to say it wasn’t Dax’s fault it was an accident done by a nine-year-old.

“I’m sorry Klaus, my son got ahold of a silver pole, he thought North was hurting me” He explained quickly. Klaus turned around and faced me, “it was an honest mistake, the kid didn’t know what he was doing” Klaus sighed and said running his finger’s through his grey hair. He then turned back to Dax and asked.

“Where did he get the pole?” he questioned, that was something I wanted to know, why would a pack of wolves keep silver? “It was my oldest Wyatt-” he began, making me really confused, “Why would Wyatt have that?” Klaus asked, “I don’t know, I’ll have to talk to him”. Klaus then shook his head, “I’ll have the Alpha deal with him. Silver is outlawed in this pack”.

Dax hung his head in fear and shame, I would have said something but I knew It wouldn’t do any good, Klaus would never listen to me. “You’re dismissed” then Dax slowly walked out of the room and then Klaus turned to me.

He pulled the ice pack off and started touching the outsides of my burn, making me groan and shift uncomfortably in pain. “Just as I thought, come with me to my office, we’ll get that fixed up” I nodded then stood up. He walked out of the kitchen with me trailing behind him.

Once we were in the hospital, I sat down on the bed, lightly holding my shoulder. Klaus with fishing through a bag and then pulled out a cloth and a bottle full of blue stuff. “Now, silver burns are very difficult to heal so all we can do now is but some cooling lotion on it”.

He then walked over and looked at my neck, his eyes then widened and then he said in complete shock.

“Oh, my Goddess..”
