Chapter 7: Donna Is Worried
As I left with the bikers I got scared watching the hospital disappearing further behind me. Was I making the right decision? I don't know them. But the doctor would not have let them take me if he was not sure of the things they brought with him. I lay down on the bed and thought that it really is a comfortable bed.
I must have dozed off because I woke up the side van door opening and a soft cool breeze flowed through the van. Donna, we have stopped to get something to eat. Do you need to use the bathroom? I will need help I said looking down at my hands.
Bear, that's your job. I lifted her and carried into the McDonald's. I walked to the unisex restroom. I opened the door and stood her on her feet. Can you get from here? Turn around. I felt her hold on me before she sat down. I said yell when you are finished. I heard her yell she was ready.
I again stood with my back turned why she pulled her pants up. I held her so she could wash her hands and then carried her back out to the van and sat her on the bed. We set up the table in front of her and placed her food and coffee there. It was everything she liked. Bear? Yes, how did you know I would like this? It is what you always ordered when the club or you and the girls would go to McDonald's.
After we all ate I handed her a pain pill. It would also help her sleep. We lowered the tables to the floor and threw the trash away. How much longer before we get where ever we are going I asked? We will be there in three more hours. Alright, I said closing my eyes. We shut the door and got on our bikes and headed back onto the highway.
Three more hours and we will be back at the club. I don't know what is going to happen once we get there. I hope that she is still asleep. Finally, we arrived. I got off my bike and opened the back of the van door. Beast carried her medication from the hospital. Donna was still asleep.
We walked in and I asked Dove if she had a nightgown to put on Donna. Everyone looked at the bruises that covered Donna's legs, arms, neck, and face. They growled. I carried her up the stairs with Dove and Beast following me. I opened the door and walked over and lay her on the bed. I looked up and saw Dove walk through the door.
Go on downstairs guys I will dress her and cover her up before coming down. Beast and I turned and walked out of the door and down the stairs. I sat down at the table and beer was placed in front of us. A member asked if we knew what club had taken Donna and did all that to her? No, not yet. We plan on contacting the Wild Rider MC and find out just what club they found her at.
Then we make them pay for what they did to her right? Right. We make them pay for what they did to her. They almost killed her. She is one of us and we protect our own and we get even. Revenge for Donna, Revenge for Donna the member chanted. OK, OK, that's enough. Let's not wake her up. She doesn't remember us and it might scar her.
I looked at the clock and noticed it was 6:00 pm. I am going to check and see if she is awake. Bear, I put some sweat pants on the chair for her to change into. She can wear one of your tee shirts. I continued to my room. I opened the door and walked over to the bed. Donna are you awake?
I'm awake. Are you hungry? I am. Let's get you dressed. I brought over the sweat pants and helped her sit on the side of the bed. I kneeled down on the floor and put her legs in them. Something flashed in my mind. I reached out and ran my hands through his long hair. His hair. I saw his face flash in my mind. He had hair just past his shoulders.
I felt her touch my hair and looked up at her. For a second I thought I saw recognition in her eyes. I helped her to stand up and I lifted the gown and pulled the pants over her hips. I walked over and got one of my clean tee shirts. Then lifted the gown over her head with my head turned. I then helped her put the shirt on.
Do you have to use the bathroom? No, I lifted her up bridal style. Then walked out the door and down the stairs. I felt her start shaking when she saw all the club members and she buried her head in my neck. I heard her whimper. Donna, what's wrong? They won't hurt you. They are your friends. Welcome back Donna one of the members said. Then another and another. She stopped shaking.
I sat her down at the table and asked what she wanted to eat? Egg salad sandwich and coffee. I looked over at Whiskey. Whiskey she wants an egg salad sandwich and coffee. Coming right up he said walking to the kitchen. I pulled a chair up and held her hand. A few minutes later the plate and coffee were sat in front of her.
Thank you she said. I watched but she didn't pick up the sandwich. Dove said, son of a bitch. Bear, you have to tell her to eat or she won't. What? They would not let her eat until one of them told her she can. I remember the van when I told her to eat. Shit. Donna, baby. Eat your sandwich. And from now on if you want something to eat you ask a prospect to get it for you and you eat without being told you can.
