Chapter 8
When she came back out, the shop assistant brought coffee over, but Frederick completely ignored her. He stood up and walked towards Alicia. "Do you like it?"
No matter how much she liked it, at this moment, Alicia didn't want to get it. She immediately shook her head.
"It's not that great!"
The shop assistant, who had been waiting for a long time with the cup in her hand, was just about to put the coffee down when she heard Frederick's voice, "Would you like some coffee?" Not waiting for Alicia's answer he ordered: "Bring it over here!"
The shop assistant was a little guilt. Now she was even more scared, and her hand wouldn't stop trembling. Frederick's extraordinary presence made her even more nervous, and as she walked closer -she didn't know how it happened - the entire cup of coffee spilled over Alicia's dress. It scared her so much that she dropped the cup on the spot.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. It was an accident.."
The dress was white, so coffee stains were completely obvious on its surface and the shop assistant quickly knelt down.
Frederick snorted disdainfully, "Is this what you call VIP service?"
Frederick's eyes didn't show anything, but Alicia understood everything and quickly changed back into her own clothes. When she came out from the changing room, the shop assistant was still kneeling down. A manager wearing a suit and leather shoes was nodding and bowing next to her.
"Mr. Clements, please forgive me! The shop assistant was a newcomer and doesn't know much II
Frederick glanced at them coldly, "I can see that your brands can only suit for poor people! Let's go!"
As he left, Alicia followed him quickly. She felt some warmth deep in her heart as if a small sun was shining.
On the way out of the shop she could hear the manager's angry voice: "You're fired! And you will pay for the dress with the money from your salary!"
Even though Alicia didn't like to be mean to people, she didn't feel any sympathy for the shop assistant. After all she had brought this misfortune on herself!
Just as she was about to thank him, his words were just like cold rain on her, "Shame on you! Is your mouth there only for decoration?"
"Doesn't she know the customer is always right?"
Alicia felt aggrieved. "I also want to have confidence. But confidence is also conditional!" she pouted.
The good impression he had just left on her disappeared in an instant!
In the end Frederick dragged her to another shop. Alicia wasn't happy when they entered the store.
Frederick, didn't bother to talk to her, but chose two outfits and threw them at Alicia.
"Try 'em on!"
She finally chose a knee-length pink dress with delicate embroidery and Frederick paid for it. During the whole process, like a bickering couple, they didn't say a word to each other. Frederick was expressionless, and Alicia with her cheeks still puffed up.
Carson Vives, who had accidentally seen them through the window, crossed the street excitedly and turned back. He ran back after the two to make sure he'd seen it right. Was there a woman by his side? He blocked Frederick's way at the crossroads. Panting, he exclaimed "Frederick, it's really you!"
He straightened up and looked to his side. When he saw Alicia's face, the smile froze on his face. He was stunned.
"You are..."
She didn't recognize him. Alicia thought she had missed something and tilted her head to one side and asked,
"Are you talking to me? What are you saying?"
When he saw the strange look in Frederick's eyes, he was shocked. Carson suddenly came to his senses and said, "Er, I said... What a surprise... there should be a woman by Frederick's side!"
