BATTLES: The Royal Invasion

Chapter 1

The second week after beginning of invading earth.

Underground inside one of many huge bases around the world governments has built as cache in case of nuclear war or a deadly natural disaster for the mankind, but it’s now considered to be bases to make operations against Terra’s army.

A group of 150 soldiers were getting ready to attack three enemies, equipped with machine guns grenades RPGs and ground to air missiles.

The men began to move by the dusk time to take down the three giants who were ruing everything in sight.it wasn’t hard to spot them as the whole city was grounded and the one of them is tall as empire state building with ugly faces, they called them “demons of death” because of their ugly faces. Rad only sent them when earthlings show resistance.

One group positioned 4 km away from them to create space to retreat. Major Ronald yelled: let’s go boys…stick to the plan at any costs.

John looked to his companion: this is what he said when we lost the half of men last time.

He shrugged: you know… the military.

“We need to attack in different ways…they didn’t trained to kill this type of enemies in military I guess” said John.

The Major yelled again: volunteers…stay here until I give orders to move.

John’s veins popped up as rage curdling inside him. John, who was willing to avenge his family who was killed under the debris and he was survived ironically because he was buried deep under the debris, the same debris that killed his family.” I didn’t come for this bullshit” it was a big scream inside his heart.

Despite the anger inside him, but John was calm from outside which a skill he learned after years being a stock broker, knowing when you should talk or stay silent is not easy thing.

The soldiers go heading toward the three giants, the group took a route which misleading where they were off to protect the volunteers and the missiles launchers.

The offensive group divided into three smaller groups, every group take care of one giant. The Major ordered the three groups to attack using the radio, the fireworks lighted up the dark sky.

Despite the aggressive attack but the giants seem not to get hurt. “Too thick… RPGs go” Ronald yelled through the radio. It was like meteors from distance, they kept fire the rockets at them until one of the rockets hit the left eye of one of the giants, and he started to stagger before he fell on the ground dead.

The soldiers realized the weakness and started to shoot at the eyes, the both giants took few steps back before replying with fire breath from their mouths, an unexpected attack that led the resistance to gradually retreat after having the upper hands for few moments. The resistance continued to fire back as they were retreating hoping that they will land a lucky strike.

4km away the volunteers was watching what was happening at the battle field. The fires lighted up Manhattan which was considered to be the center of capitalism in the world someday, and now it became a place to send invaders to hell. The resistance was getting butt kicked by the two giants after realizing their weakness wanting to finish this as fast as possible and despite losing the two thirds of the attacking force but Major Ronald didn’t call the volunteers for back up until now, it was like he wanted to kill his men… or protect the volunteers.

‘HORRAY’

After few hours…

The atmosphere was good at the underground base, no one celebrated or showed off but there was a slight smile on their faces, maybe because they survived. John however was setting alone punished by his thoughts and feelings of guilt for his family’s death.

“What you are doing here alone?”

“The Major?!... n-nothing sir”

“So why you seem very sad?”

“I should be, I lost my family…my wife…my son…I lost everything”

“All of us lost something because of them…don’t let this breaks you, it’s part of the war”

There was silence for a few moments…

“You smoke?” said Ronald.

“No, I don’t”

“Too bad”

John was amazed at how this man is that calm and cold.

“Sure you have no family, huh?”

Ronald smiled: I had a family…but you’re weak…that’s all.

It was like Ronald read through John. “And you’re heartless bastard” John said to himself.

“Then how you’re this calm?”

“You know” Ronald chuckled as the smoke from the cigarette was spreading in the air.

“This war…will be the rise of new era”

“And how did you know?”

“There is no need to be a genius to understand that whether we win or we lose…it’s a new start…for something bigger”

“We are doing good job though”

“I hope so”
