Awakening The Unknown

Chapter Unknown 03

KASSIDY

__________

"Where am I?” I ask myself while taking a step. Another step into unfamiliar darkness. Wherever I am, it was darker than pitch black here.

Why is it so dark in here?

I take some more steps. “Please someone!” I call out into the darkness. I kept walking, trying to feel any other presence around me.

I don’t know where I am, or where I’m going, but I’ve gotta find my way out of here. I tried to contact Jana to see if she was around, but there was no response. Fear trickled through my blood and settled in the pit of my stomach.

I spun around, trying to adjust to my lack of surroundings, and yelped. I felt a hand lightly touch my shoulder, scared the hell out of me. Surprisingly, the warmth of the hand calmed me down.

Although I was sure I was alone, I soon felt another hand press the small of my back and guided me to bright light.

It had appeared from thin air.

Then I whispered to myself attempting to make myself smile, “I guess there really is a light at the end of the tunnel.”

As I was guided closer and closer to the door, I felt a wave of serenity and calmness over me. I stretched my arm out to grab the golden studded doorknob, and as I reached to grab it, it opened, and I was being pulled in.

Like some kind of magnetic energy was pulling me through an opening. The brightness of the light was so blinding I closed my eyes.

To my surprise, when I opened them, I was in what looked like to be a whole other dimension.

It was astonishing, and amazing to gaze upon.

There were no walls, no ceilings, just bright blue comet-like energy floating, and gliding around me. There wasn’t exactly ground underneath my feet, but a dark blue aura that was keeping me balanced.

I looked around to my sides and saw the galaxy around me.

It seemed as if I was in between plains, in the middle of both worlds. I saw the stars, meteorites, and dust in my space trying to wrap my head around it. I tried to touch one of the lights of energy, and as I reached for it, it went in the other direction.

“Hello, sweet child, welcome to The Afterlife.” A voice suddenly announced. I turned to see who spoke to me. It was a gentle-faced woman.

She was in a white and gold brimmed dress that covered her feet. Her grey, black-streaked hair was in a single fishtail braid that drooped to her waist.

The woman had a nice tan, lightly wrinkled skin, and had salmon pink lips that held the most serene smile. Just her being there was an honor because by simply being near her, her presence cleanses my being.

She began speaking to me again, “You must be here Kassidy, you will be the destined savior for all creatures. Those of the night, and those of the day,” she said.

“And before you say anything, Kassidy, just know that you’ve been shielded from the evil that had killed you. As you should know, you have the gift of a wolf. Is that correct?” she asked me.

“Umm... yes, that’s correct. Her name is Jana.” I answered her.

She smiled warmly at me and said, “Oh, where are my manners today? My name is Solanis, and I am one of many Keepers of the supernatural creatures,” she introduces herself with her hand extended out towards me. I was tempted to take it, but I still don’t know who she is.

She continues. “And you, my sweet child, are one of a kind, and the only of your kind. We haven’t a name to call you, but you should be aware that with your death, opened and unlocked your true power, my dear.” I was so confused by what she said.

Being someone called a ′Keeper′ and me unlocking my true power made my light-headed just trying to comprehend everything.

“Solanis.” I began, then spoke again.

“What do you mean by ′true power’? I’m just a Delta with no other abilities. I’m not destined to do anything.” I tell her.

I felt the same as before.

Just a little empty without Jana in the back of my head to keep me company.

She walked towards me with a sad smile on her face and grabbed my forearms, pulling me into a hug.

She held onto me tightly in her embrace, then stepped back to look at me.

Solanis held my face in her hands and said, “Kassidy, when you died your wolf left you, right?” I nodded my head yes.

She wasn’t in the back of my mind anymore.

It was like she never even existed.

Then she started again. “Now she is in your body and is now a complete part of you. You and your wolf, are now as one. But there is much more to it, and as of now we are going somewhere much more comfortable” she ended.

I held her hands in mine, waiting for her to do something.

Then she did.

One second, we were in the plain, then, we were in a meadow.

The sun was shining, the low hanging widow trees were swaying in the breeze, and the smell of dewy grass filled my nostrils with the most mesmerizing feeling.

“Solanis? How did you get us here?” I asked in wonder, still holding her hands in mine.

They were soft, and reassuring, and calming. She reminded me of a grandmother by the way she spoke and treated me.

“My sweet child, I can go to wherever my heart or your desires. I can travel to any place by thinking of it. And by reading your energy, I landed us here, because you find this place as your sanctuary ” Solanis explains.

She lets go of my hands and began to breathe in the rejuvenating air of the meadowlands.

“You know, I find it very fascinating that the earth, has so many individual solitudes for enjoyment. Giving any creature their pleasure. I’m going to train you, and observe your progress with your unlocked new abilities to test you. My looks may deceive me but, I am not just an old soul. I am a trained a worrier and protector. Get into your fighting stance, and ready yourself for me,” she instructed me getting into her stance.

Then, she began to untie the rope holding her dress, revealing leather battle armor. She held her head high, and said, “Now then, let’s get to work.”
