Chapter 552 Any Way As You Like
The smile on Avery's face disappeared and she sighed heavily. "What's the use of my success anyway? Even when I was sick, there were no other friends besides the staff around me, and it felt quite lonely and upsetting. So, I'm really happy to see all of you here!" Jean looked at her and smiled reassuringly. "Don't say that, Avery. You still have millions of fans, who like you and look up on you! They are all sincere to you, and everyone has seen your efforts." Jean glanced at Moore and back at Avery. She quickly comforted her by saying, "Besides, aren't you and Moore good friends? He told me that he will take care of you while you are in the hospital."
"Really? He said that?" Avery immediately looked at Moore in surprise and an expression of disbelief.
Moore's ears rang at the mention of his name. He felt dejected and a bit unhappy at once, especially when it was Jean's fault.
Because he still felt a bit hurt by Jean's words outside the ward, and he still felt really uncomfortable.
However, now that Jean mentioned him in front of everyone, Moore had no choice but to reply, "Well, just take care of yourself and don't worry. If you need anything, just tell me. By the way, did you call your agent already and tell him about your situation?" Moore asked with concern, but he couldn't make himself look at Avery.
Avery's face turned pale. "Honestly, I don't want to inform him for the time being." She paused and shook her head. "I don't want him to worry too much."
"All right, I understand." Moore nodded as he heard the words. "Then, have a good rest. I'll buy some porridge for you."
When Moore finished, he nodded to Zed and then picked up his coat and went outside without giving anyone else a glance. Jean suddenly felt guilty and a little sad when she saw how Moore had never glanced at her from beginning to end. She quickly turned to Avery and Zed, and said, "Zed, stay here with Avery. I'll be back in a minute."
Zed looked at Jean's anxious face and instantly understood what she was going to do and nodded with a weak smile. Avery was a little surprised and confused as she saw Jean rushing outside. "Where is Jean going?"
"She has something to do and will be back in a minute," Zed replied with a smile.
Avery looked at Zed in doubt, but after seeing Zed's expression, she could only nod and stop asking.
Meanwhile, Jean ran all the way out of the ward and saw Moore disappear at the corner ahead.
She had no time to catch her breath and ran on, screaming his name in hopes of making him stop. "Moore, wait for me!"
But when Jean turned the corner, Moore disappeared again, and she could only speed up and keep on running.
It was not until she reached the hospital gate that she panted and caught up with Moore. She called his name again. When Moore heard Jean's call, he wanted to pretend that he hadn't heard it at all, but he still couldn't help but stop.
He felt remorse for feeling soft towards Jean, but he still turned around to face Jean with a stiff face and cold eyes.
Jean's cheeks were flushed red and a thin layer of sweat came out of her forehead, because she had been running for so long. When she saw Moore standing there waiting for her, she smiled happily and cried his name.
"Why are you following me?" Moore looked at her expressionless and interrupted her without any fluctuation or hesitation in his tone.
"I was wrong just now, and I - my words hurt you. I'm sorry for forcing my desires on you." Jean finished and bowed exaggeratedly to him.
People, who went in and out of the hospital gate, looked at them in surprise.
Some onlookers even pointed at them with vague and curious expressions, murmuring at them.
Moore noticed how much they were gaining attention and the serious expression on his face could no longer be maintained. He took Jean's hand and strode to the corner, angrily asking, "Why did you follow me? Do you really want others to see notice? Go back to Zed and stop following me, Jean."
Jean realized that her apology didn't work and suddenly became unreasonable. "No, I will follow you until you forgive me."
Moore sighed deeply when he saw that Jean didn't seem to be joking with him. He also knew very well how stubborn she could get.
In fact, as soon as he saw her running after him, no matter how angry he was at her, his anger disappeared immediately.
Suddenly, he was worried about her. She was pregnant and still ran after him. Her body might not be able to endure such intense physical activity.
Then again, he could not help but think about what she had said before. Although, he knew that she just spoke them out of anger, he still got angry and hurt then.
Moore thought he had never been such a narrow-minded man, but he was still shocked by how much he cared about every word Jean said.
So part of him still was angry at himself for feeling this way.
More so, he was more aware that
Jean had been thinking about how to pair him up with Avery. If he forgave her easily, he was sure that she would become more positive about it. So, Moore thought that the best way was to ignore Jean until Avery left.
However...
he didn't expect Jean to come after him, so he couldn't help but feel soft towards her.
Moore sighed and said, "Any way as you like." He then turned and went on outside.
Jean was a little stunned by his reaction and a little confused.
'Did Moore forgive me?
Or was that not forgiveness?'
Anyway, she could follow him and try to apologize again. She knew Moore very well and he would definitely forgive her soon.
Jean decided right away. When she saw Moore had already gone several steps, she grunted and quickly caught up with him. Meanwhile, there was an awkward silence in the ward.
Avery looked up at Zed and saw him frown slightly. He looked extremely worried.
With a slight smile on her face, she said considerately, "Are you worried about Jean? Don't worry. With Moore, I'm sure she'll be okay."
Hearing this, Zed looked up at Avery in some surprise. "Are you and Moore really just friends?"
"Well, I... I'd like to have a more intimate relationship with him, but I've tried for years, and our relationship has only become what it is now." Avery sighed, looking away and feeling depressed once again.
Zed looked at Avery and felt pity for her. "So, you really like Moore. And, the real reason why you accepted our company's invitation this time is also because of Moore, right?" He asked, fitting the pieces together. Avery looked at Zed in surprise after hearing his words. Not long after, she asked confusedly, "Did I... was I too obvious?"
"Well, as long as it's a person who loved, one can easily understand you at a glance." Zed shrugged and chuckled under his breath. "If you really want to be with Moore, I suggest you adjust your time here. Take your chances. Besides, you're not alone." Avery furrowed her eyebrows in a frown. "What do you mean?" She looked at Zed questioningly.
"Aren't you aware that my wife is too busy trying to get you and Moore together? She thinks both of you are a perfect match. Well, I know for a fact that before she even saw you, she already wanted to pair you both up," Zed explained with a smile on his face. Avery's eyes widened in surprise and her mouth gaped open. "What did you say? Jean, did what?" she asked in disbelief.
"Just as you heard. So I think that you have to think about this. Would you like to put some of your career aside for the time being for the sake of your feelings? This could be another opportunity for you." Zed nodded at Avery once. She raised an eyebrow at him and pondered for a moment. 0000000
