Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Katerina:
The two of us posed for the cameras as the cameramen followed us toward our private plane.
“It seems like the two of us are stuck here for a while.” I said, faking my smile as I looked at Nikolay who was also putting on the best smile that he could muster. Everyone could tell that we were getting annoyed by the number of pictures that we took, but it seemed like no one really cared.
“Seems so, but I don’t really understand how they even managed to get to the runway. We’re going to need to discuss this with the one in charge.” He said, making me shake my head as I turned around for him to wrap his arms around me from the back, pulling me to his chest.
“For now, let us just leave. We can handle speaking to whoever is in charge later, don’t you think?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at the man who nodded. He rested his chin on my shoulder, and kissing me, he let his lips linger there for a few seconds, before pulling away and waving at the press. He wrapped his arm around my waist, and pulled me toward the plane, and going inside, the two of us managed to take a deep breath when we saw that the windows were all closed, and that they wouldn’t be able to take us anymore pictures.
Nikolay unwrapped his arm from around me, and turning to his chair, he took his jacket off and rolled his sleeves, unbuttoning the first three buttons of his shirt as he ran his fingers through his hair. I was thankful for the fact that I had changed the wedding dress a while ago, and I was now wearing a white knee long dress and silver heels.
“Mr. and Mrs. Ivanov, do you want us serving you anything special? Anything to drink before the plane take off?” One of the flight attendants asked, entering the compartment.
“A glass of scotch for me.” Nikolay answered coldly as he sat down, scrolling through his phone.
“Can I please have a glass of juice, anything of fruits would be fine.” I said, and the flight attendant nodded before taking a step back. I started undoing my hair, wanting to be a little more comfortable with it, not bothering to speak or look at Nikolay who I knew wouldn’t spare me a second glance. The man was arrogant enough as it was, and the last thing I needed was to get on his dick’s side.
The woman came back a few minutes later, serving him first before she approached me, and smiling, I gave her a gentle nod of thanks while Nikolay didn’t even spare the woman a second glance as he gulped down the drink. “Get me another one.”
I frowned in confusion, and waited till the woman left before shaking my head at him. “Don’t you think that it is a bit too early to be drinking this much?”
“Does it concern you? Or in other words, did I even ask for your opinion?” He asked, making me
frown.
“You don’t have to be rude about it. I was merely stating facts of you drinking this early while we still had a long trip to go.” I said, taking a sip of my juice. He shook his head at me before getting up from his chair and walking toward me. He put his hands either side of my

His hot breath hit my face, and I found myself growing self conscious about his behavior. “You do not interfere with what I do and don’t do, do you understand me? My choices, the way
I live my life, and what I drink, it does not concern you, do you understand me?”
I stayed quiet for a few seconds before putting my drink on the armrest and putting my hand on his chest, pushing him back slowly. He frowned in confusion as I got up to look at him, and raising an eyebrow. I nodded at the flight attendant who was now frozen as she looked at us, clearly frightened of what she was just seeing. Nikolay turned to look at the woman who looked down at her feet as she placed the drink of the table before rushing out of the room, leaving us alone.
“Next time you think of trying to threaten me with whatever glares you think you can give, make sure to know that I can give you the same ones. Because believe it not, I am not that ‘weak‘
or
woman that you want to think I am” I said, pushing past him as I walked toward the bathroom. The man was frozen in his spot as I walked into the small stall room, and staring at my reflection, I took a deep breath, and crossed my arms over my chest, trying to regulate my breathing.
My parents words played in my head, and I knew that one wrong move could not only end me, but end literally everything that I have worked on. Fear coursed through my veins, but I tried to stay as calm as I could to at least get past this flight.
So much depended on us getting married, and the most part was my own safety and dignity. I couldn’t afford the embarrassment that I would be going through, nor could I afford the pain that I would be forced to deal with if I made one wrong move.
Therefore, washing my hands and face, I took one final deep breath as I pulled out a towel to wipe my face, and nodded.
“You can do this, Katerina, you just need to keep your mindset, and goal in place. You can get past this.” I said, before turning around to walk out of the bathroom. I walked toward my chair, noticing that Nikolay sat on his, slowly sipping on his drink.
“I am guessing your ‘pep talk‘ did you well?” He said, not bothering to look up at me. He didn’t wait for me to respond as he said his next words, sending shivers down my spine as I fought to stay in my seat. “The next time you think of trying to challenge me, I won’t be as calm, quiet, or lenient. I suggest that you keep that in mind, malyshka…
