Chapter 5 Realization
Kyrranth leapt forwards towards the soldiers, crushing one with his large talons, blood splattered onto the street. Immediately I saw the soldiers stare at him with fear then prepared to fire. Kyrranth’s eyes turned back normal he looked down and saw me holding onto him in fear. He turned over his talon to see it covered in blood then at the mangled dead body in front of him. He stared down at me in fear then held up his talons towards the soldiers, the soldiers stared at him in fury then shot at Kyrranth. A blast pierced through his shoulder he roared in fury then I felt him flap his wings frantically the wind created from his wings knocked the soldiers to the ground, I jumped onto his back.
We where now flying above the city, the people below looked like ants, continues shots of plasma shot up towards us. I clutch on tightly onto Kyrranth’s scales, as he frantically was flying upwards.
“Kyrranth what happened?” I asked worried. He stopped flying upwards and now was flying straight.
“I swear I didn’t do it! I swear!” He replied and started crying.
“Kyrranth I believe you but they don’t! Its my fault!” I replied.
“No its-” He roared in pain and I felt us slowly falling downwards. A large singe mark was in his wing where the bullet hit. More plasma shot hitting him in the chest, immediately we fell rapidly towards the city, it was getting closer and closer so I shouted.
“Pull up! Kyrranth!” Immediately he pulled up avoiding the building, but crashing into the streets below, sending debri every which way. He let out a soft groan and I hopped off rushing to him patting his head softly.
“Kyrranth! Their coming! Their coming we need to move!” I shouted trying not to cry, in the distance I saw the soldiers flying towards us. I started pushing hard on his body trying to push him up.
“Kelya. Go..just..go.” He said softly.
“No. I wont leave you. They will kill you.” I said in between sobs.
“Kelya ill be fine just go. Put an end to this war...please.” He said softly.
“NO! Kyrrath! I can’t lose you too!” I shouted in between sobs, the soldiers were getting closer and closer. There laser blades activated. I slowly took my hand off his head and took one last look and then activated my jet pack and flew up into the sky. I saw the soldiers surround Kyrrath, chain him up and place him in the transport. Then it was going-going-gone. As I was flying I realized that Sliyphia wouldn’t listen to me I would have to go to Iqunearen Kingdom of The Dragons. I flew over the large wall and over the bones of dragons and humans alike, my hair was flowing in the air as I flew as fast as I could towards that castle in the distance. After flying for forever the large castle now stood in front of me a large golden gate stood before me. A dragon saw me then prepared to attack. I got onto my knees it looked at me confused.
Then I said. “I wish to see Xorginym.” The dragon looked at me then said gruffly.
“Yeah so you can kill him.”
“No.” He looked at me with shock then opened the gate and motioned for me to follow him. Inside was a large giant city, buildings the size of college’s, the castle the size of Sliyphia City. As we walked I saw a large building with wounded dragons, other dragons by there side, probably families. In the streets small dragons were flying around laughing, I smiled then saw by the gate dragons hugging one another then I remembered. This was like families saying goodbye to soldiers. As we walked closer and closer to the castle I started thinking.
“Everything we know about dragons is wrong. There not bloodthirsty beasts they care for one another, fight for one another, remember one another. They are like us, all this time I hated dragons but I never knew what we looked like to them, were the bloodthirsty beasts, not them.” At last we approached the castle the guards let us in and the dragon said.
“Xorginym you have a visitor.” A large black dragon stepped forwards towards me his crown was made of bones, scars covered his body, he had a large scar over his right eye, and his wings where tattered and worn. He looked down at me and saw my gear and boomed.
“YOU DARE LET A FILTHY HUMAN INTO THIS KINGDOM! THEY SLAUGHTER OUR PEOPLE WITHOUT MERCY! YOU WILL BE KILLED TRAITOR!” He prepared to attack the dragon but then I stepped forwards and said.
“Please don’t kill him.” He looked at me with curiosity then sat back down and asked.
“You understand us?”
“Yes”
“Why have you come here?” He asked.
“Because to tell you I know what happened to Arvossaess.” He looked at me with sad eyes and replied.
“How? No human know the truth. Who are you?”
“My name is Kelya Rhodes and I am here to ask you put an end to this war.” I replied.
“I am glad to know you know the truth but there is a price to pay for what they have done.” He replied.
“But that was a thousand years ago!” I shouted.
“So it was! BUT YOU STILL SLAUGHTER OUR PEOPLE WITH THOSE WEAPONS WHAT JUSTIFIES THAT!” He boomed glaring down at me, I stared at him knowing he was right. “So let me know Kelya even if the people know, will they listen.” I looked up at him remembering what happened back at Sliyphia.
“No” I replied softly.
“Then I am sorry. We must continue to show them who they are dealing with.” he replied.
“But sir what justice would that show your son.”
“My son. Wait you know Kyrranth?” He replied.
“Yes. He told me about the truth then wanted to help show the humans that dragons are not monsters. But then-”
“WHERE! WHERE IS HE NOW!” Xorginym boomed.
“He has been captured at Sliyphia.” I replied, within seconds Xorginym let out a loud shout that shook the earth. Dragons of all sorts came flooding into the castle.
“My subjects the humans have killed my son!” The dragons started roaring in fury. “We will not let the savages live any longer! Its time to go attack Ceghyla, and destroy ever last one of those beasts! And make the land of Aresbury run red with the filthy blood of humans!" Xorginym boomed, the dragons erupted with cheers and shouts.
“Oh no.” I said.
