I’m on my way out of the pack house after that useless meeting. Always the same questions, it’s annoying. Hopefully what I told them will be enough... For a few days at least. Good thing I asked to not have any contact with them, only Alpha Franck should have been speaking with me... The condition of no contact with the Beta Family was well respected too... for 2 days! Gosh, Anna-Lynn normally you are better in negotiating... Suddenly I see someone on the corner of my left side. It’s Elena and I think she was waiting for me. Yep, she walks toward me.

“Hello, We’re never officially introduced. I am Elena, the Beta female and I was supposed to be your sister in law.”

“Hey Elena, nice to officially meet you. Can I help you?”

“I’m just sorry about how your family treated you.”

“I don’t have to feel sorry. You didn’t do anything.”

“Still they are my family too. I just didn’t imagine they could be like this. My birth pack was more open-minded. We leave with humans and to be mate with one is good. We value the mate before the species. Here they are so conservative. The idea of the pure bloodline was too much for me at the beginning. It’s still now but I love Aiden enough to live with that.”

That makes my smile. There is nothing more beautiful than the love between two mates.

“Where are you come from?”

“ The Ever Green Pack in Washington.”

“Alpha Rowan is a great Alpha and very open-minded that’s true.”

“Do you know him?”

“Yes, he is one of the Alphas who had supported Chris and Darius when they decided to co-lead the Blue Moon pack. A little bit too serious for me though... but nice guy and a fair Alpha.”

“ I think it’s true.” She laughs a bit surprised by my comment.

“ I have to go but my door is always open to friends. Pass whenever you want.”

“We should have been more than just friends but Aiden made that decision for me!” she said looking disappointed.

“Hey, I know Aiden is a loving mate. The kids and you mean the world to him. Don’t let a mistake in his past changes that. Yes, he was not the brother he should have been but it doesn’t change the fact he is a good mate, a good father, and a good Beta. Don’t be to hard with him, as you said this pack is really conservative. He is born thinking not to be a werewolf is a bad thing and he finished with me as his sister. I was a disgrace for everyone not only him and his parents. ”

“I was taught to always respect everyone, the strongest one as the weakest one, no matter what you are. Here the children are taught that there are superior and to be proud of this. I don’t want that for my kids.”

“Then fight it. That needs to change. This pack is maybe the strongest one now but everything is changing and that idea to keep the werewolf species the purest possible will lose them. They are already missing the evolution of the world.”

”I know and I will.”

”Maybe this pack is not lost after all. I remember finding that Pureblood's speech was so boring when I was young. Maybe it’s because I was not a werewolf.” we both laugh.

“I need to go but can we meet again? I would like to know you.”

“Sure you can come for lunch tomorrow if you are free.”

“Thank you! I will!” She says really exciting.

“See you tomorrow then.”

“See you tomorrow.”

I just arrived home and I am restless. Something is not right, I can feel it in my bones. The problem is I’m not at home, neither in friendly territory and don’t want to give them another reason to be suspicious about me.

“Collin are you home?”

“Yep, I’m here and I’m starving so... What do you plan for dinner?”

“You are always starving!” I say rolling my eyes “Let’s see what I can do to help you, hm?”

As I am looking in the fridge I get lost in my thoughts.

“Everything is fine? What’s Liam wanted?”

“ Asking the same stupid questions? Why I am here, what do I want, bla-bla-bla...”

“ Because I am the most powerful wolf and I am awesome so of course, you hope your happy ending with me.” He said trying to imitate Liam.

 I can’t help but laugh: “You suck when you tried to imitate Liam. Thank you for trying to change my mind. ”



”Still something is bothering you. What did he say? Or is it Aiden?”


”No, I am restless. Something bad is going to happen. And I can’t try to find what because I will appear suspicious” I sigh.

“You know what? Harper has difficultly falling asleep, maybe a walk will help her. As I am in the duty of looking after you have to come.”

”But you are hungry.”

”And I trust you. You are telling something is not right so we need to figure out what’s going on. However, I wouldn’t mind if you repay me big cooking on of your secret recipe.”

”Thank you! I will cook you Risotto and for tomorrow a Coq au vin.”

”Risotto I know I will like it! As for the Coq au vin, I have no idea what is it but I will like it for sure! Let me go. Faster we go faster I will have my risotto!”

We are walking on the road to the pack house and we do not far from it -a hundred fifty meter - when we hear a woman screaming. We start to run toward the scream. It’s when we see them. Kaiden is on the ground not moving and has trouble breathing. Oh my goddess!

“He is mot healing! Why he is not healing?” Says Elena totally panicked.

I turn toward Collin:” I can help him but I need space around us.” He nods.

I walk toward Elena and Kaiden, I kneel next to her.

“I can help him, but I need to take your place. Can you move, please?” I ask Elena.

She moves without saying anything. I move in front of Kaiden.I can see more people coming. I can hear Collin ask them to retreat. I hear Aiden and his parents scream in horror when they see Kaiden. Collin and Elena stop them to give me the space I need.

“Hey little man! I need you to be brave and to stay with me. Why did you jump?” I ask more for myself. “Don’t speak, you need all your energy now.” I add when I see him trying to answer.

“We heard the doctor says to grandma Tessa that great danger will wake up his wolf so he jumps through the window from his room (his room is on the fourth floor). He is not here, his wolf? Doesn’t that mean he is like you?” Answers Tom. He succeeded to pass Collin and Elena.

I feel my anger rising as I look to Aiden and his parents: “You’re fools! As if your stupidity didn’t cost enough yet!” I don’t have time for this now, I need to focus on Kaiden. “Of course he has a wolf. A very powerful one. He is just well hidden. Can you move behind me please?” I say to Tom.

“What are you doing? Liam and I tried to call his wolf he didn’t answer.” Asks me Aiden. He tries to move close to me but Elena stops him.

I just ignore him and turn my back to them to focus on Kaiden. “ Look at me, little man!”

“Your eyes!” He whispers.

“I know they are mesmerizing but don’t speak and just focus on them. Where are you my beautiful wolf? Where do you hide? I’m feeling you! But you are in a dark place. A very dark place. And you are chained... by what? Fear! You are crying for someone to release you. And I’m hearing from you.” Stupids adults with their fears! He could die because of their lack of knowledge. “Come to me big wolf! Answer my call I order you! Don’t be scared. You are a strong wolf, you can do that. Just follow my voice, I will guide you through your darkness. You’re not alone anymore and you never will be again.” Suddenly Kaiden’s eyed glowed yellow. “Here you are! Welcome my beautiful wolf!” I add relief. I can see him starting to heal.

“Fouls they are to not see who you are. Fouls they are to not believe in your Luna’s ability. My Luna!” Kaiden’s wolf says. His voice is so much deeper than Kaiden's childish voice. “ I was lost and you found me in the darkness. I will serve you until my last breath. How can I ever thank you?”

“ I need you to be the brave wolf I know you are. Don’t be afraid of the unknown and don’t let misunderstanding darkened your path. It’s all I am asking for. And if you get lost again or in great danger, call for me! I will always answer your call.”

“I will for you Luna.” He answers bowing his head.

“It’s Lilly for you. Rest now your Human and you need it to heal properly.” I turn to speak to Elena: “Bring him to the hospital right away, you need to be sure to reset his bones in the right place before he heals. If not the doctor will have to broke them again.”

I move back, Elena takes my place right away caressing Kaiden's face. “ Thank you!” She whispers her eyes on him.

I start to walk towards my house when Aiden catches my arm to stop me.

“Anna-Lynn, I hm. I... Thank you for saving my son. How can I-“

“Save it! I didn’t do it for you. I don’t own you anything and you don’t own me anything. Do you realize it’s your fears that locked in his wolf? He almost lost his life because of your and your parents' worries. You were so obsessed with the fact your daughter will be like me that you didn’t see that your little boy was listening. He was so afraid that you will not love him anymore that he blocked his own wolf! Don’t do the same mistake with your daughter. I will not be here to fix it and I can already assure she is a normal werewolf.”

I’m taking back my arm and walk toward Collin and Harper.

“She is sleeping, let’s go home. I’m starving!” He just says.

“Let’s cook the Risotto then. By the way, I received Joselito Ham today. It’s a Spanish ham and one of the best ham in the world. You can taste it while I’m preparing the Risotto.”

“Yummy! I can’t wait to be home!” He says smiling ear to ear. He really loves food.

I know he has questions but he will keep them until we are home where nobody can hear us and I’m grateful for that. He is a great friend and a very loyal wolf. I just hope he will make peace with Connor before we leave. He will regret it later if not. But he is still too upset to hear this now. Hopefully, he will want a closure before leaving definitely. I can see how Connor is suffering from the loss of the twin bond. I feel sorry for him.

We are eating the Risotto in total silence. I am still waiting for Collin to ask me his questions and I have no idea why he is waiting.

“This is so good!”



“I know!”



“If you see your sex friend say thank you for me!”

“If you are coming with me, you will meet him for sure.”

“ We never spoke about the second boyfriend? What’s about him?”

“Well, I’m in love with him but he is avoiding me for a few weeks now so I don’t know what we are anymore.”

“Anton?”

“Yeah, his name is Anton.”

“Is he human?”

“No, I slept only one time with a human? An Italian guy if you want to know.”

“So all your friends with benefits and boyfriends were werewolves?”

“It’s not what I said. My first boyfriend is not a werewolf.”

“But you said he had a mate.”

“Not only werewolves have mates. All the shifters have.”

“And what Kind of shifters is he?”

“He is a Tiger shifter.”

“A werecat! Wow! They are so rare.”

I laugh: “ Don’t call him that. It’s insulting, you would like to be called a weredog.”



“No, but I am a wolf.”



“Well, he is a tiger, not a cat.”



“True...”


“Don’t call him that when we will meet him or he will kill you.”



“I will meet him too?” He says looking exciting.



“Yes, he is my right hand.”

“ And they are not problem with Anton or with his mate. No jealousy?”



“None. And it’s not as they have the choice anyway.”

“Wow. I don’t how it’s even possible.”

“Really, you want to speak about that and not the elephant in the room?”

He starts to piss me off avoiding asking what he is dying to know.

“Okay, okay. Relax!” He takes a pause.”How did you do that? How were you able to release his wolf when his own father and Alpha were not able to?”

“ My emphatic gift maybe?”

“You don’t seem convicted by your own answer.”



“I don’t feel and see the thing like you, all of you.”

“But you don’t see and feel like a human neither, don’t you?”


“No. My instincts are sharper than anyone I ever met.”


“What about your eyes?”



“What about my eyes?” I ask playing dumb.

“Kaiden was surprised to see them but it was not the first time he saw them.” He is clever.

“I don’t know. You should ask that to Kaiden.”

“Something tells me he will not answer.”

“Possibly.”

“You are not Human.” He says after a few minutes of silence.



“I am not a werewolf.”


“But you don’t deny me.”

“I am not a werewolf.” I repeat.

“Then what are you.”

“Something else...”

“I imagine I have to accept that answer. For now at least. But mark my works Lilly, soon I will know.”



“I know.”


It’s my turn to break the silence: “ Do you still trust me?”

“Yes. Like I told you my wolf chose you as his Luna and I trust him. I know when you will be ready you will tell. I have one last question though . Where you turn into something?”

“No, I am born like that. Not a human but not a werewolf neither.”

“Did you met others like you?”
“You said you had one last question.” I say raising my eyebrow. He does the same waiting for my answer.

I sigh: “No I am the only one.”

“Wow, it’s a bit lonely.”

“I know.”

“Do you think they will more like you? I swear it’s my last question.”



“I don’t think so.”



“Why?”



“Last question?”

“Sorry, I’m sure this time it’s the last one.”

“ I don’t know.”

“You will not tell more.”



“No.”


“Fine... For now”

“I'm going to bed. Night Collin.”
