The image of Nicolette's battered knee flashed through Gwendolyn's mind, her tone indignant.
"Social media? Sanford asked, puzzled
Gwendolyn pulled out her phone, opened an app, and tossed it to Sanford.
He looked at the screen and his pupils contracted, realizing Seline had blocked them, a clear provocation to Gwendolyn.
"It's my fault" Sanford said. "Howard didn't want to meet Selina at first, I called him. Nothing happened between them; I was there the whole time"
Sanford stopped short, knowing he couldn't reveal everything about Howard, who had sworn him to secrecy
He never expected Selina to stoop so low, maybe she was out of her mind. To think she dared to install cameras in the Chadwick family home, and then use private footage to blackmail Howard Chadwick.
"Nothing happened? Then why did Selina have Howard feed her? Hand her fruit?" Gwendolyn had overheard it all herself.
Hearing the jealousy in her tone, Sanford knew she had seen them. He said with a smile, "Howard said if you don't have hands to feed yourself, you shouldn't eat. My wife is quite the jealous one. So the food and fruit went straight into the trash"
Gwendolyn's cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
"I am Selina's brother, but I won't blindly take her side. You and Howard are married; her behavior was unethical. Gwendolyn, not everyone is blind or heartless."
Sanford was a gentleman, cold on the outside but warm within, always polite.
Gwendolyn said, "Mr. Hamilton, you always say the nicest things. But I still want to resign. It's not a rash decision or out of revenge."
