Chapter 42 Bittersweet moments

That was all that I could say, hoping that he would delay my punishment. I just felt like my sensitive soul couldn't take any more torture today. He stood up and came to me. He sat down, not keeping his distance from me at all. His perfume hit my nose again, and it reminded me of earlier, when he kept me in his arms in the car. It took time while 1 calmed down again. When I felt I could speak, I moved myself away, even if I really didn't want to, and looked at him. One question was on my mind, which I was scared to ask, but my curiosity was stronger than my fear.

He took a deep breath, then exhaled.

"Do you want to watch a movie?"

I was thinking for a second, and I nodded. I stood up, but after a step I felt the effect of the alcohol, and I nearly fell. He caught me, and he looked at me, and frowned. "Are you okay?"

"Yes, I think it's just the alcohol.

"Alice, have you eaten anything today?"

I shook my head. He folded his arm around my waist with a sigh and he helped me to sit down, then he took his phone.

"I order something. It will be here soon."

"Thank you."

The food arrived shortly. He ordered what I liked to eat. Even if he always stuffed the fridge with healthy ingredients, that was kind of him. He tried to comfort me.

We sat down to eat quietly, I still felt the shock caused by the whole day. The whole situation made me feel terrified, but at least from now on, he became my protector instead of my prisoner.

After we ate, I felt like I had to have a shower. We both showered, and he came for me to my room after he finished.

We went to his cinema room. We made ourselves comfortable, laying down, and we watched a movie. He made sure it was a light one. No action, not guns, no scary scenes. While I watched it, I felt I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer, but I opened them suddenly when I felt him moving closer.

He hugged me, and forgetting about everything, I laid my head on his chest, and I hugged him too. Maybe I shouldn't have done this, but I needed it. I wanted someone to comfort me for so long.

For a moment, I was thinking about what he had told me earlier. When it will be all over, he'll let me go.

Thinking of that somehow made me feel bad. In his arms, I felt perfectly safe, and his scent made me feel at ease. While I was thinking about that, another thought appeared in my mind, which ruined my calm and happy moment of being in his arms, Gemma. He still got her. Despite knowing it was wrong to be near him while thinking of her, I told myself it was okay for one night. But I knew it would hurt to see him with her and hear them together after.
