Chapter 28 Back to the ice
Alice
After Gideon left the room, I stood up, then I walked inside. I was starving, I thought I would have to go to bed without dinner, but Gideon thought
about me
I opened the bag, and there was some grilled meat, vegetables, and salad. It smelled nice. I took the cutleries, and I sat down to eat. After I finished, I tidied up, and I really wanted to get rid of the remains, but he asked me to stay in my room. I took a deep breath, and I went to the door. It was really quiet, so I thought I would try.
I tried to be like a shadow, and I got to the kitchen. Before I would have sneaked back into my room, I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. No one noticed me.
I just had a shower, then I went to bed. I was excited about tomorrow. Finally, I could go back to the ice. I planned to train a lot. I missed a lot, and I really hoped that I would meet some normal people there.
Maybe I would have some friends who would help me get out of here. Seth made that clear the next time he wouldn't be that kind, so next time I had to be more smart. Next time I couldn't fail. I felt asleep with these thoughts.
The next morning, I was in a better mood. I couldn't wait to leave. Warming up in my room wasn't easy, but I didn't want to spend my precious time out of the ice. I stretched and tried to jump a few times. These were little moments only, but they made me smile. I couldn't wait to be on the ice.
It was nearly 9 am when I got everything ready, I got my new ice skates too. I only hoped that they wouldn't give me a hard time at first use.
I heard knocking on my door, and 1 stood up happily. Gideon opened the door and looked at me. I didn't know why, but I smiled at him.
"Are you ready?"
I nodded. I took my bag, and he led me down. When we stepped out of the house, there was a big black car with black windows. It was like the one that took me from the airport.
A bold man stood next to it in a suit. He looked like a bodyguard or a security person. I felt bad enough, but when I saw the gun on his side, I felt terrible.
I swallowed, then I could feel a hand on my back. I just realised I had stopped, and Gideon gently pushed me forward. He walked with me and be left his hand on my waist, and that just killed my mood more. It gave me the feeling of I shouldn't trust that bold guy. Probably, Gideon held me like that because he didn't trust in him either.
"Alice, this is Sam. He's going to take you to the ice rink. You can't move without him, understand?
I nodded.
"Okay. Well, have fun." He said.
I just looked at him, and I moved forward. Sam helped me to get into the car, and I could see that from the window, Gideon had a meaningful look at him before he sat in to the driver's side. That made me scared again. I tried to calm myself, and I could only hope that he was really taking me to the sports centre.
He didn't talk to me on the way, but I could see that from the corner of my eyes, sometimes he looked at me. I didn't remember the way, so I couldn't be sure he was driving in the right direction.
It took a while, when I saw a sign. We were indeed going to the sports centre. He parked the car, and he looked in the mirror to look at me.
"Alice, I'm going to wait here. You take your time. If you need help, Call me. This is my number."
He gave me a card.
"Type that into your phone, and save it. If you call me, I'm going in
When I left the car, I was still under that heavy feeling. I tried to calm myself. My trainers taught all of us a technique on how we can handle the excitement before performing. I didn't need to use that before because I was confident about my skating skills. But I practiced the procedure step by step now until I reached the building.

The familiar place made me feel better. I found the changing room quickly, and I changed. After I warmed up in my room, I planned to go on the ice straight away. Honestly, my heart pounded faster when I was next to it. It wasn't just that I could finally go back to ice skating. What really made me happy was, I wasn't alone.
There were another two girls and a boy, training. They got trainers with them. They were from the sports club.
They all looked at me with a smile. I smiled back, then I went to the bench to change my shoes. When I was ready, I took a deep breath. After a few squats and jumps, I walked to the ice. I took the blade covers off, and I stepped on it. It felt nice. I could see the trainer's eyes were on me. Probably they thought I was a beginner, as I was without one, but that just made me smile again.
I started slowly, just as usual, but after I warmed up, I practised the long program that I practised when I had to leave Montreal. It had all the required Jumps and combinations built in already, and these were quite difficult, but 1 could do them with foot perfection. I landed all the jumps and I've done all the spins just like usual. When I finished, I jest skated around, thinking of repeating snon, but one trainer waved at me. I went there. He had blande hair and blue eyes, looking like he was in his furties. He looked kind.
"Hi, my name is Parker. I'm one trainer at this skating club. You are an amazing skater"
I smiled.
"Thank you. My name is Alice.
I wanted to shake hands with him, but he looked at me weirdly. He frowned and apparently was thinking.
"Aren't you...
My smile widened. It seemed like he recognised me.
"Alke Lessard from Canada?
I nodded han
happily.
"Oh my God, I'm so happy to meet you."
"That is my pleasure."
He looked around..
you alone? Where is your trainer?"
I laughed nervously.
"Well, I left the club, and I'm just skating as a hobby at the moment."
He looked at me like a said something, like I'm talking about a murder.
"You've got a great sense of humour." He said seriously.
I stopped laughing, and I smiled, but I think my y smile's fakeness was apparent.
"Mrs. Sullivan."
We both looked toward the gate when someone shouted my new name. Sam stood there then I looked at Parker apologetically, who frowned again.
"I'm sorry, I have to go

He nodded. I waved at him with a little smile, then I turned around and skated to the other side. I left the ice, Sam waited for me at the g

"We must leave now." He announced it seriously,
"Sam, Gideon said I can stay as long as I want. He said he doesn't mind that." I tried to hold him back.
"He just rang me, and he asked me to take you back as soon as possible."
I swallowed. I had no courage to ask why.
"I just have to get my bag."
He nodded.
I changed my shoes, and I got my stuff. He walked next to me, and that made me scared again. I've only been at ease when I recognised Gideon's house. Even though that place wasn't safe for me, I would have loved to be inside it. When we
arrived, Sam parked the car and left it. He went around and opened the door for me. It surprised me, but co

"Gideon is waiting for you inside."
"Thank you."
Then I walked in. The door was open, so I just walked inside. I found no one, so I walked up to my room. In a few seconds, I could hear knocking. I looked toward the door, which opened in a few seconds.
Gideon stepped in and looked at me seriously. He was more handsome than ever. He wore a black t-shirt and jeans that showed his muscles, with styled hair, sunglasses on his head, and a familiar perfume scent
Even if my heart pounded faster to see him, I still had a bad feeling. I thought he'd heard that I was talking to that trainer, and he ordered me back, because he wanted to face me with the consequences.

I just looked at him while he walked inside. He sat on the sofa, and he kept looking into my eyes.
"How was it?" He asked.
