An Ice Queen for sale (Alice)

Chapter 175

Chapter 175 The proposal

He paid for a luxurious hotel room again, but honestly, I was more interested in the city. I did not need to wait too long. The next day.

after a long walk, he took me to see the Eiffel tower. The huge monumental building was breathtaking from the ground, and I could not wait to see the view from the top

"This is beautiful, Gideon." I looked at him when we watched Paris from above. He smiled at me.

The wind was cold, but I still enjoyed it very much. I did not even notice he remained quiet. It took about a few minutes when I heard his voice again.

"You know, Alice, people say this is the city of love."

I smiled.

"Yes." I said, and I have not realised he remained quiet again. I only noticed from the corner of my eyes, he moved. And when I turned my head to look at him, I saw something that I never thought I was going to see. He was on his knees. I covered my mouth out of surprise, and I just could not believe that. He held a box in his hand and there was a beautiful ring in it.

"Alice D'angeli, I never thought this moment would come, but since I saw you for the first time, I knew my life would never be fine without you. You showed me life can be perfect if you find the one who makes you happy, who you can love, and who can love you just the way you are. I love you, and I'll love you forever. I want you to be my lover, partner, my best friend till the end of our lives. Every happiness that life can give, I want to experience with you. Alice, will you marry me?"

Tears filled my eyes as I listened to him. Memories appeared in my mind and I got mixed feelings in my heart, but there was one thing that I was certain about. He was the one who I wanted to have next to me forever. I had a broad smile on my face, and I could not stop nodding.

"Yes." I said. He smiled wider as he stood up. He took the ring out of the box and he pulled it on my finger. I had a look at it. It was gorgeous. Then we hugged and kissed each other.

I was so happy. Everything around me was so perfect. Sometimes I was afraid that it was all just a dream, and I would awake one day, getting back into reality.

Riccardo

I sat in my office, going through a few things with Carlo. We came back two days ago from Paris, after we celebrated Alice. I could not stop thinking about her. She was a treasure, and I could not be more proud of her The news that the Sullivans joined us spread quickly. A few groups could not accept the fact that from now on we had no enemies in the whole state as the union made us the biggest, wealthiest, and strongest group.

The reason for our coalesce was also known. They knew Gideon Sullivan and Alice D'angeli were a couple. Some of the group's leaders tried to talk to me about that I should do something against it, but I just laughed at them. I knew the fact that our children found each other did not bother them at

It was all about power.

Gideon asked me to talk to him privately while we were in Paris. He wanted to get my permission to ask Alice to marry him. I knew that his love toward her was honest, and I think in the last few months he proved he would do everything to keep het sale, but most of all, I knew how much Alice loved him. So I gave my permission to him.

1 knew it had happened. To me, Alice only said Gideon asked her to marry him, and she said yes, but to Alexandra she told every single detail about how it happened. I had to admit that Gideon did everything to make the engagement a memorable, happy moment for Alice.

Both me and Carlo looked at the door when we heard knocking. I shouted to come in. Two of my people stood there with a police officer. He worked for us for a long time,

I motioned him to come in and sit down. His face showed fear, I nodded to my people. They nodded hack and left the room.

"Speak"

"Signor D'angeli, I have bad news. I'm so sorry"

officer. I knew this

Chapter 175 The proposal

I looked at him deep in the eye, and from the corner of my eyes I saw Carlo putting his hand on his gun.

"Go on." I said.

"You asked us to keep searching about that woman even if we found nothing. I apologise, but I gave the case to my colleague, as I got too much to do."

His words were like punches in my face. How dare he give a job away that I entrusted him with?

"Every single day I asked him if he found out something, but he kept saying that he was still working on it."

He swallowed. Probably he hoped for a reaction from me, but I stayed motionless. That apparently made him scared man

"One day he appeared with a laptop. I asked him what it was, but he said that it was something private. He left it in the office after he finished. It was weird somehow, so I followed him after he left the building. He went straight home, and it seemed like he would stay with his family, but in the morning I got a phone call."

I raised one of my eyebrows up, then I motioned him to continue. He started sweating, and he started breathing faster.

"They found him dead in a backstreet. They shot a bullet into his head. And..."

Carlo looked at him.

"And what?" He asked, making him more scared and sweaty,

"And... both his hands were missing. They cut them off, and we couldn't find them anywhere near."

I looked away. That could mean one thing.

"Is the laptop secured by a fingerprint?

He lowered his head and nodded. I looked at Carlo and we remained silent for a little while. I knew I should have killed him, because he ignored what I asked him, and he gave the job to someone else. But seeing him how terrified he was made me think he would do everything to earn my forgiveness, so I thought I would give him a chance.

I stood up and walked to him.

"Well, then probably his fingerprint was needed to get into his laptop. I really hope that you put it in a safe place."

"1..1.. took it home."

I looked at him and tried to look meaningful.

"Don't you think you should bring it here immediately?"

He looked at me suddenly

"Yes signore, I'll be hack really soon.
