An Ice Queen for sale (Alice)

Chapter 165

Chapter 165 The gold medalist ice's POV Three days later Alice's

After Beth helped me to take my jacket off, and wishing me good hick, I removed my skate guards from the blades and 1 stepped on the ice. The number of people rooted for me surprised me when the event started, but when I stepped on the ice, it seemed like they were multiplied. After I staked around a few times and made a few small jumps, I skated to the middle of the ice rink and I took my stating position, Breathing technique. Beth's words echoed in my mind. Remembering her advice, I tried to take deep breaths to calm myself and to focus. I closed my eyes for a second, then the music started, so I started program

The pressure that I felt has grown recently. I think I only realised I was competing again when I stepped into the Arena for the first time. I had a super team led by Beth and Gareth, but the most important was, this time, I was not alone with my coach. This time I got my whole family with me, wearing my team's uniforms, which had my name on as well. They supported me in every single way it was possible. They even ordered small flags with my picture on. Seeing the big mata leaders, Riccardo and Mr. Sullivan, Seth and Gideon keeping them in their hands always made me laugh. It was the idea of Mrs. Sullivan, though

As I performed my program more often, I became more confident. My five quads made my name famous enough, but that also raised the level of the expectations from me too. All spot reporters, judges and ex-Olympians discussed my amazing technique, my determination, as well as how well trained 1 was. Everyone expected me to finish on the podium, but I did not want to just stand on it this time. I wanted to stand on the top.

My performance went nicely. Even though I could not land my triple Salchow quad perfectly, and I was nearly in trouble with my quad toe loop and triple toe loop combination, I landed my triple Axel perfectly, and I had no other mistakes. I only heard later they were also amazed by my lay-back spinning position, speed, and how long I kept it.

When I did my final spinning and got my final position, I held my head for a moment. I wanted my first performance to be perfect so much, but hearing the crowd encouraging made my thoughts focus on what I did right instead of what I did wrong. I stood up with a smile, and I bowed around. After I waved a few times, I left the ice.

Beth and Gareth hugged me first. Beth could not miss the gentle scolding, of course, that I deserved for my mistakes, but they showed me they were satisfied as well. Riccardo, Alexandra and Matteo were the next to hug me, followed by Gideon. He bagged me tighter than the others.

"You were fantastic, Alice. It seems like you won it."

"I'm not the last competitor." I told him in frustration, still panting. He embraced

me again.

"But you are the best." He told his last sentence into my ear, and his comment made me smile wider. Actually, I was aware of the other Egure skaters who followed me were not as strong as I was, so that put me at ease a little.

I sat down with Beth and Gareth at my sides. They held my hands. Their grips told me that even if they knew roughly how many points I would earn, they were excited as well.

Finally, when I saw my scores, I exhaled with a broad smile. Beth and Gareth hugged me.

"The gold medal is yours, Alice" Beth told me happily whilst patted my back. "Congratulations." Gareth added while he hugged me again.

Honestly, I felt like crying. It was so good to be a part of it again, when I thought I would not have another chance to experience these feelings. I stood at the podium in sufficient times, and I earned the gold medal a few times even in the Junior Grand Prix Final, but somehow it was different, somehow I felt better and happier. I was thrilled. When I left the place, the first one who came to hug m

me was Ava. She was so excited; she kept saying how much she wants to be old enough to compete.

I awaited the end of the event, having Gideon's strong arms around me all the time. And then finally, when I could stand on the highest place of the podium, and I received the gold medal followed by a bunch of flowers, I knew that I never felt happier. After the event, we went back to the hotel. Riccardo rented one restaurant of the hotel for the family to celebrate, and the Sullivans and D'angelis celebrated with me together.

For a few

moments, I was thinking about where I came from. I was thinking of the many weird and scary happenings I had to go through until my life took this huge turn, leading me into happiness. Thinking of that made feel incredibly grateful for my life. 1 felt like I was one of the luckiest persons on Danh

When we finally got into our room, we both fell into bed. Even if I was exhausted, I wanted to be with him. As we got closer to the Grand Prix, I pushed myself harder, and we were not together that often than before. I knew how important it was for him, and I felt sorry for him being neglected by use a

little, but he kept saying that I can pay it back between two events.

After a passionate night, we fell asleep quickly. My alarm woke us up. We needed to have breakfast in time, as our flight was booked back to LA.

The whole big family traveled together. When we arrived, Riccardo invited the Sullivans for dinner the next weekend, which made me a good feeling again. I was so glad for him to accept them, for giving me all this happiness.
