"It was about my life. My future. I'm sorry I didn't tell you about Alice, but you were the one who was against finding her the most." He looked at me suddenly.

"That isn't true. You know I tried to do everything to find her. When I suggested stopping, I truly believed that even if she was alive, she wouldn't come back. Believe it or not, watching you was heartbreaking. We wanted you to move on. That's all. We worked for your happiness again."

"You tried to push me to a woman who I made obvious 1 didn't want to be with."

"You never been like that, Gideon. I thought she would be good for you a few times. I only was against her when I realised something was wrong in that relationship between her and dad. And, when dad asked me to find out who are you with, and get rid of that woman what I did? I fucking turned around and tried to help you instead."

"True, but you also tumed your back on me."

He looked at me, surprised, then he frowned.

"When?"

"You came to see Vince with me, then you literally disappeared like you didn't care."

He held his head.

"Gideon, I have a family." He used a tone to say this like he pretended he was crying. "My daughter was about to perform for the first time. Do you know how many things I got to do back then? You don't understand this because you have no family yet, but believe me when I say sometimes I must be with them. Sometimes I want to be with them as well." He sighed. "I admit that I should have focused on our agreement more, but still, I didn't expect you to do what I would never do. You went to Riccardo instead. You literally betrayed the whole family."

He put an ice bag on his face and sighed,

"This is my problem, Gideon. You are so fucking selfish, you never think about others. You expect everyone to work for your happiness, and you never care about how others feel."

I looked at him and frowned.

"That isn't true. I indeed care about my family. As you disappeared, I wanted to help. That is the reason I accepted Riccardo's help. When I found out what was happening, I wanted to save my family, including yours." He shook his head.

"And now we are their dependents."

"Yes, but is that really a problem when we are all here in health? Come on, Seth, who cares about that? We belong to the biggest organisation in LA. and are getting full protection. Think about Leah and Ava." He sighed. I could see my words made him think about it

"Seth, the only thing that I want is to get you all back. If you think that I'm selfish, then I'll try to change that, but I miss you. I hate that you hate me." I lowered my head, and I only looked back at him when I heard him sigh. "I don't hate you, Gid" He sighed again.

"I think that was just too much on me recently, and that was indeed because of you. Do you know how much I just want to disappear with my family somewhere? Just for a holiday. I don't even know the time when I could take Leah out without no one disturbed me while you were partying and Jucking whores. And now I know what is going to happen. Now that we are joining Riccardo's team, I only will have more on me, because you will be expected to be with Alice."

"Seth. I'm sorry. I promised Alice I'll be with her, and yes, this is what Riccardo expects me to do, but I promise you I'll work more."

He laughed, but not happily, while he shook his head.

"Don't think I'm lying, Seth. I changed a lot since I met Alice, and believe it or not, but I want a normal life as well. Just give me another chance and I'll prove that."

He sighed again and looked at the ice bag while he moved his jaw, which was obviously painful for him.

"You nearly hit my teeth out, do you know?"

"I would pay for your dentistry, but I think your punch is still stronger than mine." And I pointed at my bloody lower lip.

He laughed at it.

"I would choose the most expensive dentistry then. Anyway, you deserved it, and it made me feel better."

"Then it was worth it." I said while I lowered my head, but I was surprised when I realised he stood up and walked to me. He looked into my eye, and he pulled me closer. He hugged me. "I'm sorry, Gid."

"I'm sorry." I said.

When we let each other go, we both started laughing. Our looks were horrific, but after we liad that conversation, I think we both thought it was funny.

"Come on, Gid, I need a drink,"

"Good idea."

We walked out with a smile on our faces, and we went down. Everyone sat in the living room, and they looked nervous, but their facial expressions changed to a surprised one when they saw us.

"Come on, family, you want to eat, aren't you?" Seth asked them. They looked at each other, confused.

"But before we are eating, we should get some appetiser." Seth continued.

"Lilly, would you mind bringing us something strong?" I asked her. She shook her head with a smile and walked out of the living room. She quickly came back with a bottle and glasses, and she poured a shot for everyone, except Ava, of course, who looked happy to see us happy, by the way
