Chapter 1111
Chapter 1111 Teach Amber a Lesson
The hospital staff noticed that Tessa was in a foul mood, so they comforted her, “Miss Reinhart, take a deep breath. You’re pregnant, so you should take care of yourself and not mind the patient.”
Tessa pursed her lips in response without saying a word. However, judging by her trembling body, they could tell that she was currently very emotional since she was affected by Amber’s words. After all, her unborn child was an innocent party in all this, so she could not comprehend why the old hag had to be so vicious.
The hospital staff saw Tessa’s reaction and no longer spoke another word. If the staff in particular found those words vicious, it would naturally have a deeper impact on the involved party. Essentially, there was no point in convincing one to ignore things if one was not the person going through them.
After some time, Tessa trailed after the hospital staff and walked out of the ward with a thunderous expression. As soon as Edward saw that, he instantly rushed over and expressed concern, “Mistress, are you alright?”
Although he had been waiting outside, he heard everything that happened in the room, so he was fairly worried.
A grimaced Tessa refused to talk about it, so she calmly replied, “Let’s go.”
Sensing her downcast mood, Edward did not pursue the topic any further and escorted her out of the hospital. Even after she arrived home, she remained reasonably upset.
He watched her disappearing figure worriedly, so he took out his phone and gave Nicholas a call. “President Sawyer, I’ve sent Mistress back home, but she’s in a bad mood. It might be better if you come home.”
“What happened at the hospital?” Nicholas’ cold voice rang out from the other end, but it was filled with concern.
Edward did not hide anything and recounted the words he had heard while standing outside. “Old Mrs. Reinhart was extremely despicable as she even cursed Mistress’ unborn child.”
On the other end of the line, Nicholas’ countenance turned thunderous upon hearing the incident. However, his main concern was Tessa. After hanging up the phone, he swiftly sorted out the work he was doing and rushed back home without having lunch.
Tessa was in the living room when he returned home, and she was surprised to see him. “Why are you back at this hour?”
He smiled without replying and presented her with a bouquet of lovely roses from his back. “I missed you loads, so I rushed home to see you.”
At that moment, she was surprised yet utterly touched to see the roses in front of her. “So, you’ve found out.” She knew that Edward must have told Nicholas about the incident at the hospital; that was why he came back at this hour.
Nicholas came clean and nodded in response. “Edward told me about it. Don’t take those words to heart and just treat all that as foolish words spoken by a demented person.” He comforted her while steering her to take a seat on his lap.
She snuggled in his arms and spoke dejectedly, “I get your point, but I still can’t shake away the uncomfortable feeling. I don’t understand this. I’ve forgiven her for the things she did in the past, but why did she curse our child so cruelly? Earlier on at the hospital, I thought of just leaving her on her own device and not caring about her anymore.”
“Since that’s the case, we should just leave her alone from now on. We’ve arranged for someone to care for her, so you don’t need to go to the hospital anymore.” Nicholas coaxed her.
Tessa nodded in response. After today’s incident, she no longer wanted to deal with Amber. At the sight of his low-spirited wife, Nicholas decided to stay home.
At noon, Gregory came downstairs after his lesson and heard from Nicholas that Tessa was unhappy. “Daddy, who made Mommy upset?”
He wanted to find out the culprit behind her unhappiness and teach the person a lesson on her behalf.
Nicholas saw through Gregory’s intentions instantly and he tried to hide the truth through his gaze. “Your main task right now is to lift Mommy’s mood during lunch later on. Leave the rest to me.”
Though Gregory was disappointed to hear that, he realized that he was too young and not as powerful as his daddy, so he had no choice but to nod and agree. “Daddy, you must teach the nasty person who bullied Mommy a lesson!”
“That’s for sure,” Nicholas replied.
Meanwhile, Tessa was oblivious to everything as she called out for the two for lunch upon seeing the kitchen staff lay out their meal.
